There are probably not many teams with a more pivotal offseason ahead of them then the Washington Redskins. Two seasons ago they reached the playoffs and last season they just missed out on making it to a second straight one but if they mess up then they will be back to the bottom of the NFL pile. This to me represent what would be a good plan to make sure that they carry on building to more success.

Players to Resigning

RFA Resigned

RB Chris Thompson – Nice receiving option out of the back field.

OL Ty Nsekhe – Played well when Williams was out last year and think he is a great swing tackle for us

OT Vinston Painter – Cheap back up

UFA Resigned

QB Kirk Cousins – Last year the Redskins franchised Kirk in a kind of prove you’re not a fluke deal and while he wasn’t amazing he certainly prove himself worthy of a long term deal.

WR Pierre Garcon – I think we should resign Garcon to help out Docston who lost his first year to injury while helping our receiving core.

OL John Sullivan – I think Sullivan is a savvy veteran who can either start at center for us or at least provide solid back up play

OLB Junior Galette – I think he will back on a 1 year cheap deal after two injured filled years

DL Chris Baker – Played well last season I think he will be back with on a long term deal

ILB Will Compton – I like Compton and feel he can come back and prove depth

DL Ziggy Hood – Another backup we found last year

TE Vernon Davis – Davis found the fountain of youth last season and I think we bring him back for another year.

Not Resigned

WR DeSean Jackson – Think he wants out but I wouldn’t bring him anyway I mean he is just pure speed and well I think he will fall off the cliff soon.

DL Rufus Johnson – Our Defence was awful last year so yeah we got to get rid of a lot of dead wood

All four have had injury problems last year and it’s time to move on from them

Free Agent Signings

OG Ron Leary – He is a solid starting guard and would improve our weakness at left guard to give us a real nice starting 5 O-Line

DL Dontari Poe – Coming off a bad year but I think he will give the Redskins the true Nose Tackle we have seemingly been searching for since we switched to the 3-4 D

DL Lawrence Guy – Solid Depth player for the Skins

CB Prince Amukamara – A slot Corner for our defence

S Bradley McDouglad – We need a true starting free safety so we grab McDouglad

Draft Picks

Round 1 Zach Cunningham – ILB – Vanderbilt The Redskins defence need a true stud 3 down Linebacker and I think that is Cunningham.

Round 2 DeMarcus Walker – DL – Florida State The Redskins need youth on the D-Line and Walker is a good addition

Round 3 Wayne Gallman – RB – Clemson Gallman is the speed back that we need to combo with Kelley Power.

Round 4 Cooper Kupp – WR – Eastern Washington We need another receiver and I think Kupp could be a nice addition

Round 4 Dalvin Tomlinson – DE – Alabama The redskins double drip at DE with a player that is seen as a strong run stuffer and we need that.

Round 5 John Johnson – S – Boston College We need back up safety so I think we grab one here

Round 6 Hardy Nickerson – OLB – Illinois Back up pass rusher and someone who can work on special teams

Round 6 Jalen Myrick – CB – Minnesota late round flyer on cornerback

Round 7 Jeb Blazevich – TE – Georgia The Redskins could use a young blocking Tight End so they grab one late.

So yeah this is just my view on what the Redskins should do this offseason.
