Why Deshaun Watson will bust

Let me explain, because I know there are a lot people out there who see a franchise QB or at least a very good starter. This has been bothering me since I saw the statistics on Watson and it makes a lot of sense. Watson's velocity number was 49 mph, which to an average fan they think, "so what?". The NFL threshold has been 55 mph, and no QB who has thrown under has had any NFL success. Well, let me reiterate that, because Dak Prescott and Tyrod Taylor threw under 55 mph but were both experiencing shoulder injuries at the time. They are the exception because of that. This screams bust in my opinion. Watson already struggles with the deep ball and interceptions, so having a lower ball velocity speed means that it will take a pass longer to reach it's destination as it will have to travel more feet (larger arc). If Watson struggled in college with interceptions, expect the NFL to eat him alive with how much faster players are. Cody Kessler is deemed to have a noodle arm, but he threw 55 mph so I feel that comparison between the two should really tell the story of what Watson's NFL career could be. To conclude, I like Watson, great leader and great guy but his skills will not translate to the NFL because of arm strength and the fact he fails to read defenses. I hope I'm wrong but there are some analytics you just can't afford to ignore.

Let me know what you think.

Thank you for reading.
