New and Improved Bills-Giants Trade

Many have speculated about a trade up by the Bills to get a QB, and the most common team seen on the other side of those speculations is the Giants. The Bills are open about the fact that they need a franchise signal caller, and the Giants are open about their decision to start Eli for at least the next year or two. The Giants are in a great position to trade down and improve multiple areas of the roster while keeping Manning as their starter for the time being. Also, they have Davis Webb waiting in the wings, who was a third round pick. Perhaps he develops on the sideline and becomes a capable successor. Then, they wouldn't have needed a QB and would probably look back and regret not surrounding him with much talent, considering the current lack of talent on the roster. The Bills, on the other hand, need a QB more than anything and that should be priority #1. They made the playoffs last year and have a solid roster overall. Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott have done a fantastic job thus far, and as a Bills fan, they are the first front office to come along in this organization that I actually trust. I trust that they will do their due diligence and trade up for their guy. Here's my proposed trade:

NYG Receives: DE Shaq Lawson, two 2018 first round picks (Mike McGlinchey and Calvin Ridley), one 2018 second round pick (Nick Chubb), two 2018 third round picks (Josey Jewell and Breeland Speaks), and a 2019 first round pick

BUF Receives: 2nd overall pick (Josh Rosen), WR Odell Beckham

Why It Makes Sense For the Giants: Odell Beckham is completely insane, and I have a funny feeling the chaos going on in the Giants' locker room last year was not only Eli Apple. The Rams apparently offered the Giants the 23rd overall pick, but this would be a lot more enticing for New York. They get much more ammo and tons of assets they can use to rebuild their team. Shaq Lawson hasn't done much yet, but he has a lot of talent and should develop into a solid DE. He fits their scheme very well. McGlinchey, Ridley, Chubb, Jewell, and Speaks are all players I am high on and would all fill needs for them. Plus, they get a 1st rounder next year to boot.

Why It Makes Sense For the Bills: The Bills need to do this trade for obvious reasons. The former regime drafted Lawson, and they already have a trio of good edge rushers (Hughes, Alexander, Yarbrough), so they can afford to throw him in there. I feel like Lawson could use a change of scenery anyway since he's been mostly a disappointment with Buffalo. Simply put, they have to give up everything the Giants ask for, and this would be a proposal that would be hard to turn down. I believe Josh Rosen, Josh Allen (if he sits for 2 years), or Lamar Jackson will be the best QB to emerge from this draft class, and Rosen is definitely the surest thing out of the group. I think Beane will prefer Rosen because he is the opposite of Tyrod, who frustrated Bills fans with his mediocre play before they shipped him off to Cleveland. The Bills also need just one more receiver to complete their receiving corps, and there would be no better option to fill that void than Odell Beckham. The star playmaker would be tremendous for Rosen's development, and I have a feeling Rosen would immediately become a top-12 QB. They lost a ton of draft picks, but they still have one of their second round picks this year to use on either a linebacker (Leighton Vander Esch) or an offensive lineman (Orlando Brown).

In my opinion, this would be an ideal trade for both teams. I hope Beane sees this and calls up Dave Gettleman. Comment what you think!
