Yeah, Walker definitely flashes the edge juice to be Reddick-type. He really is a lump of clay. Just depends on what the coaches want to do with him.

I wonder if the Raiders could take Walker at 1.06. Their LB depth chart is pretty grim and they don't have a whole lot of edge juice beyond Crosby. Could be a Bruce Irvin-type SLB for Carroll.

CAR is as good a fit as any for Walker. Evero runs a lot of blitz packages out of that 3-4 - Walker would be excellent in that capacity.

Good point about Taylor's expiring contract. Johnson is holding a private workout for NFL scouts on April 14. Maybe his draft stock rebounds if all goes well.

Jalon Walker isn't very good in coverage. Not saying he couldn't be - he has the athleticism and just turned 21. At off-ball LB, his game is mostly hellified blitzing and scooting and lassoing guys. He's moldable, but I don't think he steps into an NFL starting lineup as an asset in coverage.

I don't know how much I trust Adam Schefter anymore. He used to be the man, but he seems to be putting a lot of mixed messages out there lately.

I love Jahdae Barron, but a pure boundary CB1 like Will Johnson might be a better fit for the Saints. They're already invested in Alonte Taylor, who is best suited as a slot that can bounce around the secondary.

@Mr. Bitter

Good points. I see Walker as more of a Haason Reddick type in that I think he'd be best utilized as mainly a pass rusher, but could moonlight some in coverage.

And fair enough on Johnson/Barron. You could be right. But Johnson has the injury concerns surrounding him and hasn't worked out for teams yet. Plus as I said, the Saints hired Barron's college secondary coach. So I went with Barron over Johnson at least for now. Taylor I sort of took into consideration, but he's a free agent after 2025, so IDK if he'll still be on their roster long term.
