The order of this 2014 NFL Mock Draft is based on my NFL Power Rankings.
-
Houston Texans: E.J. Gaines, CB, Missouri
Brice McCain was a huge disappointment in 2013, so the Texans will want to add a cornerback at some point during the middle rounds.

-
Washington Redskins: Jared Abbrederis, WR, Wisconsin
The Redskins must improve their defense, but they also have to focus on upgrading the receiver position. A No. 2 wideout is needed.
-
Atlanta Falcons: Daniel McCullers, NT, Tennessee
The Falcons have three defensive tackles with expiring contracts, including Corey Peters, a run-stuffer who tore his Achilles in December. A replacement is needed.
-
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kelcy Quarles, DT, South Carolina
Akeem Spence had a disappointing rookie campaign playing next to Gerald McCoy, capped off by an arrest for marijuana possession. The Buccaneers may want to bring in another interior defensive lineman.
Pick change; previously Anthony Johnson, DT
-
Jacksonville Jaguars: Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska
The Jaguars definitely need some help at corner to help combat Andrew Luck.
Pick change; previously Brent Urban, DE/DT
-
Cleveland Browns: Khairi Fortt, ILB, California
The Browns have a great front seven, but the one liability in the group is Craig Robertson, who was abused in coverage this past season.
Pick change; previously Keith McGill, CB
-
Oakland Raiders: Anthony Steen, G, Alabama
The Raiders need multiple upgrades on their offensive line. Lucas Nix might be the worst starting guard in the NFL, so he needs to be replaced.
-
Minnesota Vikings: Calvin Barnett, DT, Oklahoma State
The Vikings used one of three first-rounders on a defensive tackle last year, but they may have to double dip at the position with Kevin Williams hitting free agency.
-
Buffalo Bills: Morgan Breslin, DE/OLB, USC
Jerry Hughes' great 2013 campaign came out of nowhere. The Bills should probably obtain some insurance just in case it was a fluke. They could use depth at linebacker anyway.
-
St. Louis Rams: Billy Turner, OT, North Dakota State
The Rams probably won't go offensive tackle early, but they'll have to at some point considering the uncertainty surrounding Jake Long.
Pick change; previously George Uko, DT
-
Detroit Lions: Demarcus Lawrence, DE/OLB, Boise State
Willie Young is a free agent. If he's not retained, Detroit will have to find someone to compete with Devin Taylor as the starter across from Ziggy Ansah. The loser of that battle will provide depth.
-
Tennessee Titans: Adrian Hubbard, DE/OLB, Alabama
The Titans will need some linebackers for their new 3-4 defense. Another pass-rusher wouldn't hurt.
Pick change; previously Jeremy Hill, RB
-
New York Giants: Chris Smith, DE, Arkansas
Justin Tuck is a free agent, so the Giants will need another pass-rusher if he moves on.
Pick change; previously Aaron Lynch, DE
-
Jacksonville Jaguars: Brent Urban, DE/DT Virginia
Surprise, surprise, Tyson Alualu struggled at left end in Jacksonville's new scheme. An upgrade here is needed for the league's worst pass rush.
Pick change; previously Corey Moore, S
-
New York Jets: Keith McGill, CB, Utah
It doesn't appear as though Antonio Cromartie will be back with the Jets next year, so the team will have to address the cornerback position at some point.
Pick change; previously Tre Boston, S
-
Miami Dolphins: Xavier Grimble, TE, USC
Ryan Tannehill would benefit from having a better intermediate option to throw to. Michael Egnew was used far too often at the end of this past season.
Pick change; previously Kelcy Quarles, DT
-
Chicago Bears: De'Anthony Thomas, RB, Oregon
Matt Forte had 363 touches last year. The Bears may want to bring in another running back who can do similar things in the passing game just to give Forte a break.
Pick change; previously Chris Smith, DE
-
Pittsburgh Steelers: Deandre Coleman, DT, California
The Steelers need some help up front. Cameron Heyward finally improved this year, but Ziggy Hood continued to struggle.
Pick change; previously Billy Turner, OT
-
Dallas Cowboys: Aaron Lynch, DE, South Florida
Here's another upgrade for the defensive line. With Anthony Spencer hitting free agency, Dallas will need a new pass-rusher across from DeMarcus Ware.
Pick change; previously Jordan Richards, S
-
Arizona Cardinals: Jeremy Hill, RB, LSU
Rashard Mendenhall is a free agent, but that's for the best because he stinks. The Cardinals have to find someone to split carries with Andre Ellington.
Pick change; previously Andre Williams, RB
-
Green Bay Packers: Chris Borland, ILB, Wisconsin
The Packers released Desmond Bishop during the previous offseason. On top of that, the rapidly aging A.J. Hawk will have an expiring contract soon. Ted Thompson will have to address the inside linebacker position in the near future.
-
Philadelphia Eagles: Ed Reynolds, S, Stanford
The Eagles will need to address the safety position twice if Nate Allen isn't re-signed. That's how terrible the back end of their defense was.
-
Cincinnati Bengals: Seantrel Henderson, OT, Miami
The Bengals need a long-term solution at left tackle, with Andrew Whitworth revealing that he's more comfortable inside. Seantrel Henderson is a project, but could develop into a strong starter.
Pick change; previously Deandre Coleman, DT
-
Kansas City Chiefs: JuWuan James, OT, Tennessee
The Chiefs need some tackle depth with Branden Albert hitting the market in two months.
Pick change; previously Adrian Hubbard, DE/OLB
-
San Diego Chargers: Cameron Fleming, OT, Stanford
Jeromey Clary had to play tackle when King Dunlap got hurt. This cannot be allowed to happen again.
Pick change; previously JuWuan James, OT
-
New Orleans Saints: James Hurst, OT, North Carolina
Terron Armstead looked great at left tackle to close out the season, but he's an unknown. Zach Strief is a free agent. The Saints may want to use a Round 3-5 selection on a tackle.
-
Cleveland Browns: Ahmad Dixon, S, Baylor
Here's some secondary help for the Browns, who could use someone to challenge Tashaun Gipson at safety.
Pick change; previously Rob Herron, WR
-
Carolina Panthers: Kapri Bibbs, RB, Colorado State
Cam Newton has made huge improvements this year, but he could still really benefit from a potent, pass-catching weapon coming out of the backfield.
-
San Francisco 49ers: A.J. McCarron, QB, Alabama
Jim Harbaugh may want to groom a backup behind Colin Kaepernick. He could also develop a quarterback and trade him.
Pick change; previously Stephen Morris, QB
-
New England Patriots: Bene Benwikere, CB, San Jose State
The Patriots will need depth at cornerback behind Alfonzo Dennard and Logan Ryan if free agent Aqib Talib walks.
-
Denver Broncos: Ben Gardner, DE, Stanford
The Broncos will need a long-term replacement for Elvis Dumervil, as Shaun Phillips doesn't have many more seasons of high production remaining.
Pick change; previously Jaylen Watkins, CB
-
Seattle Seahawks: Will Sutton, DT, Arizona State
The Seahawks are always looking to bolster their pass rush. Will Sutton would've been considered a steal here a year ago, but he's coming off a down season.
