*** This mock draft will be updated at least once per week (Tuesday afternoons and other times for important events.). Check out old versions of this 2014 NFL Mock Draft in the archived mock draft section. Follow @walterfootball for updates. ***

  1. Houston Texans: Carlos Hyde, RB, Ohio State
The Texans have officially lost Ben Tate, who signed with the Browns. This was expected all along though, so the team has been looking at new options behind Arian Foster (Andre Brown signed on for just one year). Carlos Hyde would make a lot of sense for them atop Round 2.

  2. Washington Redskins: David Yankey, G/OT, Stanford
The Redskins signed Shawn Lauvao, but they might be interested in adding another guard if a talented one is available, given that Chris Chester is pretty pedestrian.

Pick change; previously Xavier Su'a-Filo, G

  3. Cleveland Browns: Allen Robinson, WR, Penn State
The Browns had tremendous problems at receiver this past season outside of Josh Gordon. Greg "Mr. Dependable" Little continued to struggle, while Davone Bess was even worse. Allen Robinson enjoyed a tremendous Pro Day and could sneak into the first round.

Pick change; previously Morgan Moses, OT

  4. Oakland Raiders: Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State
I have a feeling Timmy Jernigan will fall during the draft for multiple reasons. If that happens, the Raiders will be more than happy to take him at this juncture, as he would strengthen a weak group of defensive tackles.

  5. St. Louis Rams: Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia
Many just assume the Rams will select a tackle in the first round, but that would go against Jeff Fisher's philosophy. Perhaps Fisher will want to add insurance for Jake Long on Day 2.

Pick change; previously Stephon Tuitt, DE/DT

  6. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Eastern Illinois
The Buccaneers signed Josh McCown to be their immediate starter, but they still need a long-term answer at the position, and they clearly don't view Mike Glennon as such.

  7. Jacksonville Jaguars: A.J. McCarron, QB, Alabama
The Jaguars have to take a quarterback early for obvious reasons. Despite his poor finish, A.J. McCarron is still viewed as a second-round prospect by at least one team. That teams has McCarron ranked over Teddy Bridgewater, per our NFL Draft Rumor Mill.

  8. Minnesota Vikings: Demarcus Lawrence, DE/OLB, Boise State
The Vikings want a pass-rushing linebacker to fit Mike Zimmer's scheme. There's a chance they could take Anthony Barr at No. 8 to fill that need. If they go quarterback instead, someone like Demarcus Lawrence would be in play near the top of Round 2.

Pick change; previously Brandon Thomas, OT/G

  9. Buffalo Bills: Troy Niklas, TE, Notre Dame
The Bills have to add play-makers around E.J. Manuel, who needs all the help he can get. The tight end position definitely needs to be upgraded.

  10. Tennessee Titans: Jeremy Hill, RB, LSU
The Titans probably won't be able to trade Chris Johnson. If they cut him, Tennessee will obviously be searching for a new lead running back.

  11. New York Giants: Scott Crichton, DE, Oregon State
New York could double dip in the trenches. Justin Tuck was one of many Giants to sign with the Raiders, so a replacement is needed despite the Robert Ayers signing.

  12. St. Louis Rams: Dion Bailey, S, USC
St. Louis' defense came on late in the season, but it struggled at times during the year for a couple of reasons. One was the play of safety Rodney McLeod. He wasn't terrible, but it's clear that the Rams need to find an upgrade next to T.J. McDonald.

  13. Detroit Lions: Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
The Lions are definitely in play for a taller cornerback during the early stages in the 2014 NFL Draft, as they need help covering many of the massive receivers in the NFC North.

Pick change; previously Jimmie Ward, S

  14. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jason Verrett, CB, TCU
The Steelers have to address the cornerback position. Ike Taylor was dreadful this past year, as the receivers he battled - save for A.J. Green, oddly enough - posted season-high totals against him.

  15. Dallas Cowboys: Jimmie Ward, S, Northern Illinois
Dallas had horrible safety play throughout the 2013 season. An upgrade in this area would have allowed it to beat Philadelphia in Week 17.

Pick change; previously Terrence Brooks, S

  16. Baltimore Ravens: Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt
Baltimore added Steve Smith, which I thought was an awful move (go here for my NFL Free Agent Grades), but regardless of my opinion, the Ravens are still in the market for a long-term No. 2 option for Joe Flacco.

  17. New York Jets: Jace Amaro, TE, Texas Tech
Kellen Winslow proved to be an insufficient replacement for Dustin Keller, so this is a position New York will look to upgrade this offseason.

  18. Miami Dolphins: Chris Borland, ILB, Wisconsin
The Dolphins are in the market for a new middle linebacker, as Dannell Ellerbe predictably struggled this past season. Miami's new front office has no allegiance to Ellerbe.

  19. Chicago Bears: Marcus Roberson, CB, Florida
Chicago was able to re-sign Tim Jennings recently, while Charles Tillman was brought back, but for only one year. The Bears have to deal with Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford twice per year, so they'll definitely look to upgrade their secondary with multiple selections.

  20. Arizona Cardinals: Stephon Tuitt, DE/DT, Notre Dame
Darnell Dockett, 33 in May, is due $5.75 million this upcoming season. He's no longer the pass-rusher he once was, and Arizona lacks a long-term replacement for him.

Pick change; previously Ra'Shede Hageman, DE/DT

  21. Green Bay Packers: Ed Reynolds, S, Stanford
Is there any doubt that the Packers need to improve their secondary? Their defensive backfield blew so many coverages throughout the season, and they had no chance against Colin Kaepernick.

Pick change; previously Trent Murphy, DE/OLB

  22. Philadelphia Eagles: Jeremiah Attaochu, DE/OLB, Georgia Tech
The only linebacker who consistently put pressure on the quarterback was Trent Cole, and he won't last beyond next year because he's due $10 million in 2015. Another pass-rusher is currently needed anyway.

  23. Cincinnati Bengals: Marcus Martin, C, USC
The center position is one of the top needs I have listed in the Bengals team needs page. Kyle Cook needed to be upgraded before his release.

  24. San Francisco 49ers: Keith McGill, CB, Utah
San Francisco's group of cornerbacks isn't very strong, as Carlos Rogers and Tarell Brown have both moved on to new teams. The 49ers are weak at this position, so they could easily spend two early selections on upgrades in the 2014 NFL Draft.

  25. San Diego Chargers: Kyle Van Noy, DE/OLB, BYU
The Chargers have shown a lot of interest in Kyle Van Noy, who could help their pass-rushing woes; they need an upgrade across from Melvin Ingram.

  26. New Orleans Saints: Davante Adams, WR, Fresno State
The Saints could use another receiver. Marques Colston disappointed this season prior to the Carolina victory, yet he's still New Orleans' top option by a wide margin. Lance Moore was recently cut.

Pick change; previously Allen Robinson, WR

  27. Indianapolis Colts: Lamarcus Joyner, CB/S, Florida State
The Colts managed to retain Vontae Davis, but they still have a big need at corner. If you don't believe me, go back and watch the Kansas City-Indianapolis playoff game.

  28. Carolina Panthers: Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama
Both Cyrus Kouandjio and Antonio Richardson took major hits at the Combine because of their failed physical exams. I didn't know what to do with them, so I dropped both to Rounds 2-3.

Perhaps the Panthers believe Kouandjio can fill the void that Jordan Gross' retirement created at left tackle.

  29. San Francisco 49ers: Kareem Martin, DE, North Carolina
The 49ers have Tank Carradine waiting in the wings, but with four second-day picks, they can afford to go with the best player available who fits their scheme perfectly.

  30. New England Patriots: Weston Richburg, C, Colorado State
Ryan Wendell was re-signed, but an upgrade at center is still needed. He was most responsible for Tom Brady's poor pass protection.

  31. Denver Broncos: Trent Murphy, DE/OLB, Stanford
The Broncos lost Robert Ayers, so they might be interested in addressing their depth at defensive end, all while finding a potential successor for DeMarcus Ware.

Pick change; previously Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB

  32. Seattle Seahawks: Martavis Bryant, WR, Clemson
Golden Tate left for Detroit, but the Seahawks needed an upgrade at receiver anyway (Cris Carter would agree).
