The order of this 2014 NFL Mock Draft is based on my NFL Power Rankings.

*** THIS IS A LIVE 2014 NFL MOCK DRAFT. PICKS ARE BEING POSTED NOW. TO SEE PREVIOUS VERSIONS, CHECK OUT THE ARCHIVED 2014 NFL MOCK DRAFT SECTION. FOLLOW @walterfootball FOR UPDATES ***

  1. Dallas Cowboys: Aaron Lynch, DE, South Florida
Anthony Spencer was re-signed to just a 1-year deal, so he'll likely walk next spring. His backup, Tyrone Crawford, recently tore his Achilles. Dallas will be in desperate need of an upgrade at left end next spring.

  2. St. Louis Rams: Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama
The Rams signed Jake Long this offseason, but they still need tackle help because Rodger Saffold will be a free agent next spring. Besides, who knows how long their current left tackle will be able to hold up?

Pick change; previously Antonio Richardson, OT

  3. New York Giants: Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB, Oregon
One area the Giants neglected in the 2013 NFL Draft that I thought they should have addressed was the cornerback position. Corey Webster is starting, which is not good news based on how frequently he was torched this past season.

    Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, a third-team All-American, intercepted four passes and had 16 pass break-ups as a sophomore.

  4. Chicago Bears: Loucheiz Purifoy, CB, Florida
The Bears will have to address their two cornerback positions next offseason, as Charles Tillman and Tim Jennings both have expiring contracts.

A 6-1 corner with a potential high 4.3 40, Loucheiz Purifoy is a beast on special teams in terms of blocking kicks. He had two blocks in 2012.

  5. Miami Dolphins: Jason Verrett, CB, TCU
The Dolphins need help at cornerback. Brent Grimes, coming off a torn Achilles, is just a short-term solution. Dimitri Patterson shouldn't be a No. 2 corner. Miami drafted some young corners in April, but none of them have stepped up.

Pick change; previously Louis Nix, NT

  6. Baltimore Ravens: Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt
It should be quite apparent that the Ravens desperately need help at receiver after what happened in the opener. Neither Jacoby Jones nor Marlon Brown should be a No. 2 wideout in the NFL. Think Baltimore misses Anquan Boldin?

Pick change; previously Kyle Van Noy, DE/OLB

  7. St. Louis Rams: HaHa Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama
The Rams just drafted T.J. McDonald, but they'll have to find another safety upgrade sometime soon.

  8. Atlanta Falcons: Anthony Johnson, DT, LSU
The Falcons didn't address defensive tackle even though they have a hole there next to Jonathan Babineaux. Peria Jerry will be given one more chance to prove himself. He did nothing in the opener.

  9. Cincinnati Bengals: Scott Crichton, DE, Oregon State
The Bengals drafted Margus Hunt, but they have Michael Johnson hitting free agency soon. With Carlos Dunlap recently extended, it's very unlikely that Johnson will be retained.

Pick change; previously Scott Crichton, DE

  10. Houston Texans: C.J. Mosley, ILB, Alabama
The Texans really wanted to add some inside linebackers in the 2013 NFL Draft, but never got around to it (Arthur Brown was snagged off the board right before they picked in Round 2). They remain pretty thin at the position.

  11. Green Bay Packers: A.J. Johnson, ILB, Tennessee
The Packers released Desmond Bishop in the offseason. On top of that, the rapidly aging A.J. Hawk will have an expiring contract soon. Ted Thompson will have to address the inside linebacker position in the near future.

  12. New Orleans Saints: Kyle Van Noy, DE/OLB, BYU
The Saints had several holes to fill in the 2013 NFL Draft, so they weren't able to obtain a pass-rusher until the sixth round with Rufus Johnson. They'll probably need to do so earlier next April.

I wanted to slot Kyle Van Noy around the 16th pick, but couldn't find a spot for him. Van Noy logged 13 sacks in 2012. He was espcially hot down the stretch, recording 5.5 sacks in his final three games.

Pick change; previously Adrian Hubbard, DE/OLB

  13. New England Patriots: Ra'shede Hageman, DE/DT, Minnesota
Bill Belichick loves size in his defensive linemen. Ra'shede Hageman fits the bill at 6-6, 310. The Patriots could definitely stand to upgrade the interior of their defensive line.

  14. San Francisco 49ers: Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State
The 49ers can afford to take one of the best players available on the board with this pick because they have fewer needs than most teams. They could stand to find help at cornerback, especially given that as a 33-year-old, Carlos Rogers will be due more than $6 million. Also keep in mind that Nnamdi Asomugha and Tarell Brown have expiring contracts next March.

Pick change; previously Jason Verrett, CB

  15. Denver Broncos: Christian Jones, LB, Florida State
The Broncos don't have a real middle linebacker. Wesley Woodyard played in that spot in the season opener, but he would be better served at the weakside position.

Pick change; previously Craig Loston, S

  16. Seattle Seahawks: Trent Murphy, DE/OLB, Stanford
The Seahawks signed Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril this offseason, but both were inked to short-term deals. Seattle will have to find a long-term successor for Chris Clemons.
