The order of this 2014 NFL Mock Draft is based on my NFL Power Rankings.
-
Jacksonville Jaguars: Lache Seastrunk, RB, Baylor
Maurice Jones-Drew is an impending free agent. He'll likely want to leave such a terrible situation, so the Jaguars will need to find a new running back.
Follow @walterfootball for updates.
-
Oakland Raiders: Ka'Deem Carey, RB, Arizona
Like the Jaguars, the Raiders will be faced with a running back heading for the market. Darren McFadden will probably head elsewhere.
-
Cleveland Browns: Bishop Sankey, RB, Washington
I suppose the Browns need to find a new running back in the wake of the Trent Richardson trade. Once again, you can see my grades for both Cleveland and Indianapolis by clicking the link.
-
New York Jets: Corey Moore, S, Georgia
The Jets have major problems at safety, as neither Antonio Allen nor Dawan Landry should be starting.
-
New York Jets: Xavier Grimble, TE, USC
Another weapon for Geno Smith. Kellen Winslow Jr. has done a solid job this season, but considering his injury history, he's not a long-term solution.
-
Washington Redskins: Yawin Smallwood, ILB, Connecticut
ESPN loves talking up London Fletcher by saying he's still great, but he can barely move. He's one of the reasons the Redskins are so inept on defense.
Pick change; previously Allen Robinson, WR
-
Cleveland Browns: Tre Boston, S, North Carolina
More secondary help for the Browns, who could use someone to challenge Tashaun Gipson at safety.
-
Carolina Panthers: David Yankey, G/OT, Stanford
The interior of Carolina's offensive line is just atrocious. Cam Newton is struggling because his offensive coordinator left, but bad blocking isn't helping.
-
Minnesota Vikings: Zack Martin, G/OT, Notre Dame
The Vikings had to address the interior of their offensive line in the 2013 NFL Draft. They did so - but only in the sixth and seventh rounds.
-
Buffalo Bills: Damian Swann, CB, Georgia
The Bills were expected to address the cornerback position in the 2013 NFL Draft, but never got around to it. They probably won't avoid that area two years in a row.
-
Indianapolis Colts: Anthony Steen, G, Alabama
Jim Irsay took to Twitter recently and demanded better protection for Andrew Luck. I suppose that means the Colts will drafting a lineman or two early.
-
Philadelphia Eagles: Rashaad Reynolds, CB, Oregon State
Cary Williams had a great debut for the Eagles on Monday night, but was putrid against the Chargers. Bradley Fletcher, meanwhile, is already hurt. Cornerback is glaring need for Philadelphia.
Pick change; previously Johnny Manziel, QB
-
San Francisco 49ers: Daniel McCullers, NT, Tennessee
The 49ers don't need a legitimate nose tackle to run their defense, but having one definitely wouldn't hurt.
-
Arizona Cardinals: Seantrel Henderson, OT, Miami
Seantrel Henderson has the upside to be a great left tackle in the NFL. Unfortunately, he hasn't been able to put it together mentally yet. The Cardinals have taken chances on troubled players, so maybe they'll be able to get the most out of Henderson.
-
St. Louis Rams: Calvin Barnett, DT, Oklahoma State
The Rams spent a first-round pick on a defensive tackle in 2012, but they could spend another early selection on one again sometime soon. Kendall Langford, signed to a 4-year, $24 million contract last offseason, has been a disappointment. He won't be around much longer at his high salary if he continues to struggle.
-
San Diego Chargers: Vic Beasley, DE/OLB, Clemson
The Chargers were so desperate for help at rush linebacker that they signed Dwight Freeney. The former Colt is obviously not a long-term solution for the team's pass-rushing woes.
-
New York Giants: Jordan Richards, S, Stanford
Considering the state of the Giants' secondary, it should surprise no one if they select multiple defensive backs early.
-
San Francisco 49ers: Odell Beckham, WR, LSU
Anquan Boldin and Mario Manningham will both be free agents next March. The 49ers need a speed receiver to complement Michael Crabtree.
-
Detroit Lions: Russell Bodine, C, North Carolina
Dominic Raiola has seemingly been on Detroit's roster forever, but he'll be a 35-year-old free agent in March. The Lions will probably bring in a new center.
-
Chicago Bears: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State
The Bears will almost certainly re-sign Jay Cutler, but it wouldn't hurt for them to grab a potential successor in this loaded draft class.
-
Dallas Cowboys: Spencer Long, G, Nebraska
The Cowboys are so desperate at guard that they lured Brian Waters out of semi-retirement.
-
Miami Dolphins: Deandre Coleman, DE/DT, California
Both Randy Starks and Paul Soliai are impending free agents. The Dolphins will have to replenish depth in the spring.
Pick change; previously Lamarcus Joyner, S
-
Baltimore Ravens: Cody Hoffman, WR, BYU
It wouldn't surprise me if the Ravens really attacked the receiver position this offseason and selected two early on in the 2014 NFL Draft.
-
Atlanta Falcons: Andrew Jackson, ILB, Western Kentucky
Akeem Dent hasn't worked out as Atlanta's middle linebacker. The Falcons should probably look elsewhere.
Pick change; previously Yawin Smallwood, ILB
-
New England Patriots: Deshazor Everett, CB, Texas A&M
Aqib Talib is an impending free agent, so the Patriots may want to bring in another corner sometime early during the 2014 NFL Draft.
-
Cincinnati Bengals: Antone Exum, CB, Virginia Tech
Defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer has done a great job of getting the most out of Terence Newman and Pacman Jones, but the Bengals will have to get younger at cornerback sooner or later.
Pick change; previously Rashaad Reynolds, CB
-
New Orleans Saints: Demarcus Lawrence, DE/OLB, Boise State
Considering that the Saints have just moved into the 3-4, it wouldn't shock me if they doubled up on rush linebackers early in the 2014 NFL Draft.
-
Green Bay Packers: C.J. Fiedorowicz, TE, Iowa
It was not surprising at all to see that Jermichael Finley was responsible for an interception in the opener. He's a free agent this spring.
-
Houston Texans: Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia
The Texans will want to begin grooming a young quarterback behind Matt Schaub sometime soon.
-
San Francisco 49ers: Logan Thomas, QB, Virginia Tech
The 49ers have three third-round selections, so they can make a luxury pick like this. Logan Thomas has tons of potential. Maybe Jim Harbaugh can work his magic with him and then flip him for a better draft choice a couple of years later.
-
Denver Broncos: Dri Archer, RB/WR, Kent State
The Broncos have a dynamic offense, but one thing they don't have is a Darren Sproles-type back coming out of the backfield. Dri Archer, who could run a high 4.2 at the Combine, could fill that role.
-
Minnesota Vikings: Allen Robinson, WR, Penn State
I have a feeling Greg Jennings is going to bust in Minnesota. If he continues to struggle, the Vikings will think about bringing in another receiver.
Pick change; previously Devin Street, WR
