The order of this 2014 NFL Mock Draft is based on my NFL Power Rankings.

*** THIS IS A LIVE 2014 NFL MOCK DRAFT. PICKS ARE BEING POSTED NOW. TO SEE PREVIOUS VERSIONS, CHECK OUT THE ARCHIVED 2014 NFL MOCK DRAFT SECTION. FOLLOW @walterfootball FOR UPDATES ***

  1. Houston Texans: C.J. Mosley, ILB, Alabama
The Texans really wanted to add some inside linebackers in the 2013 NFL Draft, but never got around to it (Arthur Brown was snagged off the board right before they picked in Round 2). They remain pretty thin at the position.

  2. Chicago Bears: Jason Verrett, CB, TCU
The Bears will have to address their two cornerback positions next offseason, as Charles Tillman and Tim Jennings both have expiring contracts.

Pick change; previously Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB

  3. Cincinnati Bengals: Scott Crichton, DE, Oregon State
The Bengals drafted Margus Hunt, but they have Michael Johnson hitting free agency soon. With Carlos Dunlap recently extended, it's very unlikely that Johnson will be retained.

Pick change; previously Aaron Lynch, DE

  4. Atlanta Falcons: A.J. Johnson, ILB, Tennessee
Thanks to tons of injuries and plenty of ineptitude, the Falcons have perhaps the worst linebacking corps in the NFL right now. They need to bring in new talent around Sean Weatherspoon.

Pick change; previously Dominique Easley, DE

  5. Cleveland Browns: Marcus Roberson, CB, Florida
I'm sure Cleveland would love to land an offensive play-maker for its new quarterback here, but all three wideouts are gone and there's no running back worth taking. Thus, they'd have to "settle" for one of the top cornerbacks in this class. They need an upgrade over Buster Skrine, who's currently starting across from Joe Haden.

Pick change; previously Sammy Watkins, WR

  6. Dallas Cowboys: Anthony Johnson, DT, LSU
I have no idea what the Cowboys were thinking when they passed on Sharrif Floyd at No. 18 overall. Moving down and then selecting a third-round center made it clearer than ever that they need a real general manager. In the meantime, Jerry Jones will continue to run the team into the ground.

Perhaps Jones will suddenly realize that Dallas has a glaring need on the interior of its defensive front. Anthony Johnson would be a nice fit as Monte Kiffin's three-technique - just as Floyd would have been.

  7. Baltimore Ravens: Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt
It should be quite apparent that the Ravens desperately need help at receiver after what happened in the opener. Neither Jacoby Jones nor Marlon Brown should be a No. 2 wideout in the NFL. Think Baltimore misses Anquan Boldin?

  8. Detroit Lions: Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, CB, Oregon
It might still be early, but Darius Slay and Bullet Bill Bentley have been major disappointments for the Lions thus far. If they continue to struggle, the front office will consider a cornerback in the first round - as long as it satisfies their "BPA" model.

Pick change; previously Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE

  9. Miami Dolphins: James Hurst, OT, North Carolina
Jonathan Martin is good at opening up running lanes, but is terrible as a blind-side pass protector. The Dolphins need to find a legitimate franchise left tackle because Ryan Tannehill has taken a ridiculous 18 sacks through four games. Only the Jaguars have allowed more (19).

Pick change; previously Aaron Colvin, CB

  10. Kansas City Chiefs: Antonio Richardson, OT, Tennessee
The Chiefs just spent the No. 1 overall pick on Eric Fisher, but they'll need a bookend for him once Branden Albert moves on. If you don't think Kansas City would draft two consecutive offensive tackles with its first-round picks, well, remember who's making the decisions now.

Pick change; previously James Hurst, OT

  11. Green Bay Packers: HaHa Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama
The Packers have suffered through horrid safety play thus far this season. That'll need to improve considering the quarterbacks in their division. HaHa Clinton-Dix should be slotted around Nos. 15-22, so he's a good bargain here.

Pick change; previously A.J. Johnson, ILB

  12. New Orleans Saints: Kyle Van Noy, DE/OLB, BYU
The Saints had several holes to fill in the 2013 NFL Draft, so they weren't able to obtain a pass-rusher until the sixth round with Rufus Johnson. They'll probably need to do so earlier next April.

I wanted to slot Kyle Van Noy around the 16th pick, but couldn't find a spot for him. Van Noy logged 13 sacks in 2012. He was especially hot down the stretch, recording 5.5 sacks in his final three games.

  13. New England Patriots: Aaron Colvin, CB, Oklahoma
Aqib Talib is having a great season. He's an impending free agent, so he'll command a big contract. The Patriots will have to find a replacement if they can't retain him.

Pick change; previously Ra'shede Hageman, DE/DT

  14. San Francisco 49ers: Trent Murphy, DE/OLB, Stanford
The 49ers have to consider spending their first-round pick on a pass-rusher. Aldon Smith, who was just sent to rehab, has a pretty cloudy future. San Francisco needs to protect itself in case Smith can't recover.

Pick change; previously Scott Crichton, DE

  15. Seattle Seahawks: Adrian Hubbard, DE/OLB, Alabama
The Seahawks signed Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril this offseason, but both were inked to short-term deals. Seattle will have to find a long-term successor for Chris Clemons.

  16. Denver Broncos: Cyril Richardson, G/OT, Baylor
What's better than Peyton Manning and four awesome targets? Peyton Manning and four awesome targets with upgraded protection. Zane Beadles, the weak link on a solid Denver front, is an impending free agent.

Pick change; previously Christian Jones, LB
