Matt Hasselbeck is old, injury-prone and part of the old regime, so Charlie Whitehurst is likely to see extensive action in 2010. How he'll play is unknown. Whitehurst is essentially a rookie with a sub-par offensive line, questionable rushing attack and no proven No. 1 receiver.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 1,475 passing yards. 8 passing TDs. 11 INTs. 80 rushing yards. 1 rushing TD.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Points (ESPN Scoring): 83.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Points (QB Friendly): 113.

It's a shame, but all of his injuries have sapped Matt Hasselbeck of his skills. He's not nearly the same quarterback he was in 2007 and before. In 14 games last year, he threw for 3,029 yards, 17 touchdowns and 17 interceptions on a pedestrian 6.2 YPA. More telling were Hasselbeck's numbers in the final three weeks of the season: 61-of-113 (54.0%), 629 yards (5.6 YPA), three scores and nine picks.
Hasselbeck is the likely starter going into Week 1, but it's probable that he'll either suffer an injury or lose his job to Charlie Whitehurst.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 1,500 passing yards. 8 passing TDs. 10 INTs. 40 rushing yards. 0 rushing TDs.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Points (ESPN Scoring): 76.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Points (QB Friendly): 107.

In the wake of LenDale White's mysterious release, Justin Forsett is the favorite to lead Seattle's running backs in touches. Forsett is a really speedy and elusive running back, and he has been so good in minicamp that Pete Carroll told the media that he plans to get the ball into Forsett's hands as much as possible.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 825 rushing yards. 50 catches. 425 receiving yards. 6 total TDs.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Points: 161.
Projected 2010 PPR Fantasy Points: 211.

Leon Washington is coming off a fractured fibula and tibia, so he's a risky fantasy pick. He'll probably receive a third of Seattle's carries and about 40 catches as the third-down back.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 440 rushing yards. 30 catches. 250 receiving yards. 3 total TDs.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Points: 87.
Projected 2010 PPR Fantasy Points: 117.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh just had sports hernia surgery. Deion Branch is always hurt. Reggie Williams is slow. Mike Williams loves eating doughnuts. As a mere 22-year-old rookie, Golden Tate is sadly the most promising fantasy receiver on Seattle's roster. Tate, who stood out in May minicamps, is great after the catch, so Pete Carroll and his coaching staff will undoubtedly make sure their quarterbacks get the ball into the Notre Dame alumnus' hands as much as possible.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 60 catches. 740 yards. 4 total TDs.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Points: 98.
Projected 2010 PPR Fantasy Points: 158.

T.J. Houshmandzadeh, 33 in late September, is coming off a down year (79 catches, 911 yards, 3 TDs). He also has to deal with a quarterback in rapid decline and another signal-caller who has never started a game before. What really hurts is that Houshmandzadeh had serious sports hernia surgery in April - a major red flag because sports hernias tend to resurface. I would completely avoid him.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 55 catches. 625 yards. 2 total TDs.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Points: 74.
Projected 2010 PPR Fantasy Points: 129.

Deion Branch had a throwaway year, save for the final four weeks of the season. In those contests, he caught 20 balls for 191 yards. But before you get excited, note that Branch turns 31 in July and underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in April. This guy has just never been able to stay healthy.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 38 catches. 375 yards. 2 total TDs.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Points: 49.
Projected 2010 PPR Fantasy Points: 87.

Matt Hasselbeck called John Carlson a "fantasy sleeper" when he tweeted him happy birthday in May. I would agree with Hasselbeck. Carlson was asked to block on about 45 percent of his snaps last year. That's a high number but it was unavoidable; Seattle's offensive line was that bad.
However, look for that figure to drop down to about 40 percent in 2010. The Seahawks drafted Russell Okung and signed Chris Baker, a solid blocking tight end. He'll help out in the blocking department, allowing Carlson to run more routes.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 60 catches. 680 yards. 6 total TDs.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Points: 104.
Projected 2010 PPR Fantasy Points: 164.

Olindo Mare was 24-of-26 last year, and 48-of-53 the past two seasons. However, he's 37 and didn't attempt a single kick beyond 50 in 2009. Plus, he won't have many opportunities because of Seattle's stale offense.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 24-27 FG (0-1 from 50+; 5-6 from 40-49). 29 XP.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Points: 105.

Seattle's defense should be the favorite to generate the least amount of sacks in the NFL this season. Avoid.
