New York Giants Upcoming 2025 Draft Picks (8)
Walt's Mock Selections as of 4/23/2025 -View Current Mock Draft
Round: 1

The Giants foolishly won their way out of a quarterback, but perhaps that just means that they'll tank for Arch Manning, as seen in my 2026 NFL Mock Draft. Then again, it's sounding like the Browns and Giants will pass on Shedeur Sanders, though things could change. As of now, the Giants will likely draft the best player available. Abdul Carter has been described as a missile as a pass rusher. *** OTHER 2025 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: *** 1. Travis Hunter, CB - If the second pick is Carter, this selection will be Travis Hunter, and vice versa.
Round: 2

We can't find a spot for Shedeur Sanders in the first round. Even the Steelers don't like him, as we discussed on a recent episode of the WalterFootball.com After Dark Show. So, he'll either go in the second round unless a team trades up for him. The Giants could do it; they worked him out toward the end of the pre-draft process. Sanders has a high football IQ and great leadership skills. He doesn't have a stellar arm, but it's good enough for him to be a first-round pick.
Round: 3

The Giants will be looking to upgrade their front seven at some point. They could do that atop Round 3. Darius Alexander was a solid player for Toledo who put decent pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Follow @walterfootball for updates. Also, you can Support Us on Patreon here! Also, if you haven't visited the site in a while, you may have noticed the new look. Yes, after nearly two decades, we've finally re-designed our site to be more modern. This was not done on a whim, but rather out of necessity because of what occurred during the 2023 NFL Draft. Our site crashed during the entire first day of the draft, which was disastrous for our revenue stream because we make more money during the draft than any other time. The site crashed because a line of code conflicted with the old format of the site, so we had to transition to this new look. Because we lost so much money during the draft, I want to point out that you can really help support the site by paying for the ad-free version of it. It's $7.99 per month, but you'll get a super-fast site with no ads. My developer will be adding new features to paid subscribers as well, so look for that in the near future. If you don't want to pay, please spread the word about the site through word of mouth. That would also be a big help!
Round: 3

The Giants could stand to add an off-ball linebacker in the middle rounds. Jamon Dumas-Johnson is an instinctive linebacker with a strong skill set.
Round: 4

The Giants can't go too long without addressing their poor offensive line. Javontez Spraggins showed improvement in pass protection as his collegiate career progressed.
Round: 5

The Giants didn't do much in free agency to address receiver, aside from re-signing Darius Slayton. Chimere Dike is a tall receiver who was productive at Florida.
Round: 7

The Giants have shown interest in Korie Black, who would help with the team's depth issue at cornerback.

2024 NFL Draft Selections and Grades
A Malik Nabers could have gone fourth or fifth without any complaints, so the Giants getting him with the sixth pick is an excellent move. The Giants have sorely needed a No. 1 receiver ever since Odell Beckham Jr. was traded, and they finally have one. Nabers will give Daniel Jones a chance for once, though improved blocking is still needed.
B This is a decent pick by the Giants, selecting the top safety in the class at No. 47. Tyler Nubin is limited athletically, but he's a sound player who will fill a huge need. The Giants lost Xavier McKinney, so they had to find a replacement.
D The Giants needed to continue to bolster their dreadful offense, whether it was via offensive linemen or receivers. I get adding a cornerback, another problematic area, but they could have drafted Andru Phillips later. Phillips was a falling prospect, according to Charlie Campbell's recent stock report.
B It sounds like Darren Waller will retire this offseason, so the Giants really needed to find a tight end. Theo Johnson is a solid prospect who makes sense as a fourth-round prospect. This is a solid pick to help Daniel Jones even more.
B Here's another solid running back pick in the fifth round. Tyrone Tracy was highly productive at Purdue, including as a pass-catcher. The Giants lost a big part of their passing game with Saquon Barkley leaving, so perhaps Tyrone Tracy can take on that role. Running back was an obvious need.
C We had Darius Muasau as a seventh-rounder or UDFA player. The Giants finding a linebacker makes sense, but I wish they'd find more help for their horrible offense.
2023 NFL Draft Selections and Grades
A+ The Bills had some major problems in the red zone last year. Dalton Kincaid will help solve those issues. With all of the first-round receivers off the board, moving up for a top tight end prospect makes a ton of sense, especially when it comes to jumping Dallas, which really needs to address the position. Kincaid could have gone much earlier than this, so I love this value.
A I'm shocked the Giants didn't draft a receiver, given their huge need at the position. Then again, they also had a huge need at center, and John Michael Schmitz is someone who could have been drafted 15-20 picks earlier than this. I love the value and need fill.
F - The Rams made fun of the Patriots for reaching last year. My, how the turntables have turned! Kobie Turner is a late-round prospect who is undersized. He should not have been chosen this early.
A+ The Rams have their quarterback of the future, something they needed with Matthew Stafford old and injured. Stetson Bennett is a great leader with an underrated arm. He's short, but that's his only downfall. Sean McVay should be able to develop him very well.
A I've had Antonio Johnson in the third or fourth round of most of my mock draft updates, so I love the value with this pick. Antonio Johnson doesn't have great athleticism, but he's a tall cornerback who was productive at Texas A&M. He may have to move to safety in the NFL.
B+ I mocked Eric Gray nine picks earlier than this, so he makes sense as a fifth-round pick. The Giants needed someone like him, as they didn't have much behind Saquon Barkley. Gray has quality receiving skills.
B Tre Hawkins was a combine snub, but he made up for it with a great pro day workout to help him get drafted. He's a big cornerback with some potential. This is a solid pick for the Giants, who needed a cornerback.
C+ Derek Parish is an explosive pass rusher, but the problem is that he has a very small frame and lacks strength. He's a situational player at the very best.
B Jordon Riley is a massive 340-pound nose tackle. He showed some surprising agility at his pro day, but keeping his weight under control will be an issue. He's worth a shot here in the seventh round.
B- Gervarrius Owens has decent athleticism and size for a safety. However, he's very raw and lacks instincts, which is not good for a safety.

B+ Grade
Kayvon Thibodeaux, in a 15-minute combine interview, mentioned his brand five times to one team. Some wondered if Thibodeaux loved football fame more than football itself, and it's a legitimate concern. However, Thibodeaux is arguably the most talented player in this class, and he fills a huge need at edge rusher. The Giants need a tackle more, but they're fans of two tackles and can get one at No. 7.
B- Grade
It's no surprise that the Giants are addressing offensive line with one of their two selections in the top 10. They must give Daniel Jones better protection in what could be his final chance to prove himself. Evan Neal fills a huge need, but his downside can't be ignored. Neal is 350 pounds, so he could be a major health risk. Many huge offensive linemen have had issues staying healthy, from Mekhi Becton, to Marcus Cannon, to Trent Brown. This is not always the case, but there's a dubious history with monstrously sized blockers.
B Grade
So, does this mean the Giants are trading Kadarius Toney? Wan'Dale Robinson is a small, but explosive receiver. The position was not really a need unless the Giants were going to jettison Toney, but New York is getting a talented player with upside with this pick, so it's a solid move.
D Grade
Another offensive lineman makes sense for the Giants, but this is a reach, as Ezeudu was an early third-day prospect. Furthermore, the Giants had a golden opportunity to select a quarterback, but they passed on all options.
D Grade
The Giants needed a cornerback to replace the soon-to-be-traded James Bradberry, but they could have done much better than this. Cordale Flott is a fifth-round prospect at the very best, so this is definitely a reach. There were many better players available.
B- Grade
I've had Daniel Bellinger around this area or a bit later, so I don't think this is much of a reach. The Giants needed to address tight end with Evan Engram gone. I think there are some better tight ends available, but I don't dislike this selection.
C+ Grade
This pick is identical to the one the Redskins just made of Percy Butler. The Giants are reaching a bit for safety because the third-day value sucks at the position. This isn't a huge reach, like the Butler pick, but I'm not a fan of it.
C Grade
The Giants are taking a late-round/UDFA prospect in the fifth round, which isn't ideal. However, it is Round 5, so reaches mean much less at this juncture. Linebacker is a need, so perhaps McFadden will beat expectations.
C- Grade
Speaking of late-round/UDFA players, D.J. Davidson was never on my radar as someone to put in my mock draft. He declared early, and he's a big run-stuffer, but I'm not sure he'll be in the NFL in a couple of years.
B Grade
I'm a big fan of the Giants adding offensive help because C.J. Stroud or Bryce Young will sorely need it in 2023. Marcus McKethan never made it into any of my mock drafts, but he was always on the cusp.
A Grade
Of the two NFC East teams that picked linebackers in the sixth round, the Giants made the better choice. Not only did they not trade up for Darrian Beavers; they obtained the superior prospect, as I had Beavers in the fourth round.
2021 NFL Draft Selections and Grades
A- Grade
Liam Eichenberg was usually slotted in this area in my mock draft; sometimes higher. He ended up at the end of the first round in my final update, so I like this value for the Dolphins, who needed to improve the offensive line. Miami must protect Tua Tagovailoa to help him succeed after a disastrous rookie year, and Eichenberg will help make that happen.
B Grade
Paulson Adebo was once a mainstay of my first round, but he fell initially because of speed concerns. Then, he didn't help himself by foolishly sitting out the 2020 season. That said, the Saints are buying low on Adebo, so they could potentially be getting a starter across from Marshon Lattimore, which would fill a big need.
B- Grade
The Giants have maintained a lackluster pass rush for several years now, which is a departure from how they won the Super Bowl twice with Eli Manning. They needed players who can get after the quarterback, and Elerson Smith certainly has the athletic upside. This is a bit of a reach, but Smith's potential can't be ignored.
A+ Grade
I'm shocked Rodarius Williams lasted this long. I had him in the third round of my mock draft, thanks to a great 2020 season. This is a great value pick, and Williams could potentially fill a position of need.
