Higgins Receiving Projections of Late Round 1, Early Round 2

To close out the 2019 regular season, Clemson wide receiver Tee Higgins went on tear, making 10 touchdown catches over the final five games before bowl season. With the spotlight of playing for the defending National Champions, Higgins has gotten some media hype and is one of the many good wide receiver prospects for the 2020 NFL Draft. In speaking with team sources, they generally see Higgins as a potential late first-round or early second-round pick next April.
Higgins has mismatch size at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds with the ability to make contested catches over defensive backs. In 2019, he has 52 catches for 1,082 yards with 13 touchdowns. Evaluators like Higgins' length and ball skills. Sources from four different teams see him as having the potential to sneak into the first round and a floor of going in Round 2.
"[Higgins is] a possible late [first-round], early to mid-second-round pick," said one director of college scouting. "He's got stick hands but does his work outside the numbers. Volleyball style production, so his [timed] speed will definitely matter. He's not an assertive tough-guy type between the numbers."
Obviously when it comes to NFL drafts, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. One NFC general manager said they had Higgins as a late second- or early third-round pick due to liking 8-10 receiver prospects over him. That speaks to how loaded the 2020 NFL Draft is at wide receiver. However right now, the overall consensus is that Higgins could be a late first-round or early second-round pick.
