NFL Poll - Andrew Luck or Trevor Lawrence

Ever since Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence led the Tigers to a National Championship as a true freshman, there has been talk about Lawrence as the best quarterback prospect for the NFL since Andrew Luck coming out of Stanford in the 2012 NFL Draft. With the 2020 regular-season complete, scouts have done their reports on Lawrence, and they have grades on him that can be compared to Luck. WalterFootball.com spoke with 10 different team sources about Lawrence's status, and six of them voted for Lawrence as the better prospect and one voted for Luck. Three team sources did not choose for one or the other but they did share some interesting thoughts on comparing the two.

"Lawrence has a stronger arm, and is a little better athlete. But he is not quite as sturdy as Andrew," said a national scout.

"That's a Mercedes versus BMW question," said a director of college scouting. "Luck was more consistent, better accuracy and produced with lesser talent. Both athletic, Trevor is more fluid, but both were good athletes in their own regard, just different. Luck also used a lot more three-tight end sets in a game than Trevor has in his career. Both are generational talents."

Here is what director of player personnel said about the duo, "It's hard to say because Andrew was running the whole show in college - changing plays at the line and running a pro system to perfection on top of having all the physical skills and all the intangibles - Trevor has all the physical skills and all the intangibles, but still needs development with total understanding of coverages and [hot routes], etc."

Team sources have heard Lawrence is a near lock to enter the 2021 NFL Draft, so Lawrence could be setting a new standard as a quarterback prospect for the NFL, as this unscientific poll found he received six votes to one as to being the better prospect.
