Teams Grade Raimann on Day 2 of 2022 NFL Draft

Before and after the 2022 Senior Bowl, Central Michigan offensive tackle Bernhard Raimann has often been projected to be a first-round pick. A converted tight end, Raimann, spent less than two seasons as a starting left tackle in college. While he had that limited experience, there has been a lot of media hype and love for his story, which includes having been born in Austria and coming to America as an exchange student during his teenage years. While the wider media have been projecting Raimann in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, sources from five different NFL teams all said they had Raimann graded on Day 2.

None of the NFL team sources WalterFootball.com spoke with said they saw Raimann as first-round talent. To go along with his limited experience and a late start in football, Raimann checked in with 33-inch arms at the Senior Bowl, which is a short measurement and less than what NFL teams want for offensive tackles.

Perhaps there are teams that are grading Raimann in the first round, but the consensus opinion from all five of these teams was that Raimann was a second-day talent for the 2022 NFL Draft.
