Wan'Dale Robinson Has Love/Hate Potential

Kentucky wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson is one of the breakout stars of the 2021 season. He transferred from Nebraska after 2020, and he immediately became a playmaker for the Wildcats, recording 94 receptions for 1,164 yards and seven touchdowns during the regular season. Robinson broke Kentucky's single-season reception record, and has become an interesting prospect for the 2022 NFL Draft. Team sources shared with WalterFootball.com that Robinson is a love/hate prospect in the scouting community, with some being extremely high on him and others thinking their team should be wary of drafting him early.
"I love him," said a director of player personnel. "I think he's a better version of Brandin Cooks. Wan'Dale is similar to Tyreek Hill, not as fast, but Wan'Dale runs better routes than Tyreek."
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Robinson is similar in size to Hill (5-10, 185) and Cooks (5-10, 183). All three of them are shifty receivers with the speed to hurt defenses underneath or downfield.
"I think Robinson is gimmicky," said another director of player personnel. "I'm just not buying in."
Robinson could help himself with fast 40 times in pre-draft workouts, but he also could return to Kentucky for his senior year. Going back to school would be a surprise, but another big season with rocket-armed quarterback Will Levis could win over the doubters and make Robinson a more secure first-round pick for the 2023 NFL Draft. The sources who like Robinson say they believe he could get selected as high as the back half of the first round if he enters the 2022 NFL Draft.
