@RTORRES27

Not sure If you mean this as a beginner level question or you just wanted to confirm what the key numbers are so lets do both.

Key numbers are the most common differentials we’re likely to see in the final score.

You score points in the NFL via Field goals (3 points) or Touchdowns (6 points + the extra point for 7). Thus you can imagine that games have a higher probability of ending with a 3 (24-21, 30-27 ect) point differential or a 7 point differential. If you have access to a database or search the internet you’ll find a couple articles giving you what % a game lands on 3, 7 and some of the other key numbers. That % will be different depending on if you use a 5 year sample size vs a 20 year sample size ect.

In recent years 6 has become more important of a number since you don’t kick extra points in overtime and the extra point was moved from the 2 to the 15 creating more misses (6 points vs 7). I do agree with Walt that 6 is the 3rd most important number. Chuckster mentioned the rest 4,10,14.

Hope this helps.

@RTORRES27:  Hey bud, sure, ...My understanding of the five biggest MOV s are (in Descending order) ..3, 7, 4, 6, 1.  Walt thinks that 6 should be in third place and then I guess 4, to each their own.  If you throw in the mov # s of 10 and 14,  you get a little more of 50 percent of all the margin of victory numbers for the NFL.  I am Always cognizant of these seven numbers when I am breaking down games and ultimately picking games.  3 and 7 are individually and combined HUGE mov numbers in the NFL.  Good luck Sir and if I can be of any more assistance just ask.  P.S.  Don't let Hater posts get to you, their just malcontents with apparently no where else to "vent."  GLTA.
