I like the Eagles move up for Carter.  I could definitely see them doing this.  Beyond the rumors, they seem to have a good feel for the value of linemen on both sides of the ball.  They will want to re-stock the cupboard no doubt with a rookie contract that will help them compete and still afford Hurts.

@TheOtherJohnnyFootball I really think they could move up for him, yes.  The odds shifted significantly in the past 12 hours or so towards him going top 6 now, and he's the favorite to go at #5 now.  Certainly Seattle would make sense for him if they are satisfied that he's not a red flag risk, but I've also seen it floated that Seattle could trade back.  If so, maybe that's where Philly comes up to try to get him.

Nice mock.  Your insight about Tyree Wilson is interesting.  Good point that he is 23, and not 21 like Travon Walker.  I think the comparison with Anderson is similar in that Anderson will be like Hutchinson was.  I also like Richardson going to Seattle. While you may be right that there isn't a major drop-off from Carter to other DTs, it seems like most people I hear feel Carter is a better prospect (red flags aside).  If Seattle wants to roll the dice, either of those freakish players would be great.  As a fan, I'm REALLY hoping Anderson falls there, even if it looks unlikely now.

Don't get me wrong - Carter is in his own category talent-wise. His flashes are eye-popping. It's just that those flashes don't happen often enough. He's a tease.

I think the "Seattle loves taking on character concerns, so Carter makes sense at #5" stuff is lazy.

First of all, guys like Marshawn, Sherm, etc., were undoubtedly a little off and could be their own worst enemies at times, but nobody would ever suggest that they weren't motivated to be great or that they weren't passionate about football. That's the crucial difference between Carter and the reclamation projects Seattle has been known to take on. Carter has given zero indication that he's motivated to be great. He didn't at UGA, and he hasn't throughout the predraft process.

Secondly, when Schneider/Carroll take on those reclamation projects, they always do it at a discount. Sherm was a day 3 pick. That bought low on Marshawn. That's a far cry from burning the #5 overall pick on a character risk, especially when Seattle never drafts that high.

@NoHeroes94  Thanks man.  I'll admit I am not some draft "expert" but let's face it a lot of these so-called "experts" are way off, in part because they are always being leaked false narratives in order to promote a team's agenda.
