Strengths:
  • Good size and speed
  • Long arms, strong hands
  • Quick off line
  • Ball skills
  • Threat in the red zone
  • Capable, willing in-line blocker
  • Intelligent
  • High character

    Weaknesses:
  • Inconsistent route runner
  • Should break more tackles after catch
  • Occasional drops
  • Could add muscle
  • Injury history

Summary: Kyle Rudolph is the consensus top tight end even though a hamstring injury cost him a good chunk of last season. The eagerness of many to compare him to New England rookie Rob Gronkowski sets the bar high. Rudolph has the same ability to hurt a defense down the seam. The modern NFL has a lot of athletic receiving tight ends. If Rudolph can become an even better blocker, bulk up and play a little tougher, he can stand out in the crowd.
