Strengths:
  • Size and length
  • Athletic former blocking tight end
  • Good lateral movement
  • Able to mirror defender
  • Work ethic
  • Intelligence

    Weaknesses:
  • Height can be a liability
  • Can be beaten by speed rushers
  • Still needs to add more weight
  • Initial punch lacks strength
  • Not a great anchor

Summary: Nate Solder is cashing in on a poor class of tackles. He has room to grow and develop as a dominant NFL tackle. His journey began as a blocking tight end and he has already added about 70 pounds in his years at Boulder. He will need to add more and has to overcome the challenges his height presents when it comes to knee bending and getting beaten inside.

Player Comparison: Tony Boselli. Mike Mayock drew this comparison while covering the Senior Bowl so let's go with it. Assuming Solder can continue bulking up, he certainly has the potential to be the dominant force Boselli was with the Jaguars before injuries derailed his career.
