Loaded 2018 RB Class Published at 8/12/2017
|
The 2018 RB class might be the greatest RB class ever when its all said and done, yes better than the 2008 class that featured Jamaal Charles, Matt Forte, Ray Rice, Chris Johnson, Darren McFadden, and Johnathan Stewart. This is based on eligibility to enter the NFL Draft meaning some of these players might stay in school another year but as of right now this is how its shaping up to be prior to the CFB season. The 2 top dogs for me right now are Saquon Barkley and Derrius Guice. Barkley is looked at in the same regard at Fournette and Elliot if not better and Guice was behind Fournette this past season at LSU but in the limited action he was in he was a dangerous game-changing RB for the Tigers. When watching Guice's film some things that stood out to me were vision, speed, good burst out of the backfield, ability to get to the 2nd level and finish runs, good disciplined cutback skills and is a exceptional pass blocker. My first draft crush of the 2018 crop was L.J. Scott maybe the most overlooked player in this class. It's crazy cause when I was watching his film Le'Veon Bell came to mind, Scott has very good size for the RB position and put on a show against Michigan and Ohio St, his 2 best games were against the 2 biggest opponents which tells me he shows out when the lights shine brightest. There are other notable names in the class like Akrum Wadley who had 2nd round discussion this past draft if he had came out, Royce Freeman & Kam Pettway who are big physicals down hill runners who can add a presence to any NFL offense with their size. Ronald Jones III is a electric runner who can break off a 75 yard run on any given play. Did I forget to mention maybe the best RB out of the bunch had he not got injured in Nick Chubb from Georgia, Chubb one of the greatest runners ever out of Georgia seems to be a after thought in this class thats how solid it is, another guy I forgot to mention Bo Scarborough all he did was dominate the CFB Playoff and almost bring Bama home a National Championship. There are a lot of other talented RB's in this class who bring things to the table. I can see as many as 5 RB's go in the 1st round of this upcoming draft. I look forward to discussing this class over the next months and want to hear all comments and remarks, I love debating football!!!
