STOCK UP

Simmie Cobbs Jr. - WR - Indiana - 6'4 220

Cobbs Jr. put on a impressive show against arguably the most talented defense in the country in Ohio St.  He single-handily kept Indiana in the game and hauled in 11 receptions for 149 yards and a touchdown.  Cobbs faced off with former 5 star recruit Kendall Sheffield for the majority of the first half before Ohio St. switched over potential first round pick DB Denzel Ward to him.  Ward was no match for the 6'4 wideout who constantly overmatched him with size, strength, and catch radius. Cobbs definitely looks improved from last year and seems to be faster than expected, but lingering off the field issues could hurt his stock come April but after one week of football Simmie Cobbs Jr. looked like the most dominant receiver on any college field.

Ronald Jones III - RB - USC - 6'1 200

On 18 carries Ronald Jones compiled 159 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead USC over Western Michigan. Sam Darnold did not have it this week and #4 USC came close and probably should have lost to Western Michigan. Jones is a very good runner and is mainly used from the shotgun but I think he would be even better back if Darnold got under center and Jones became a one back, one cut back. Jones in his first game of the season looks to be stronger than last seasoned is said to have put on 10-15 pounds of muscle, he broke tackles that last year he would have got tackled on. Jones seems to add power to his arsenal which now makes him a deadly back who can cut on a dime and break off a 75 yard run on every play. Jones had 89 of his 159 yards after contact which is amazing! Sidenote true freshman Stephen Carr also looks like a beast at USC.

Derwin James Jr. - S - FSU - 6'3 212

Derwin James is back and better than ever. The Haines City native didn't necessarily put on a complete dominance performance but the fact that he is back to old form and has no repercussions from his injury is enough for his stock to be way up because he is arguably the best non QB in the country. James was all over the field vs Bama finishing with 6 tackles, 1 pass deflection when he was blitzing and half a sack. James is a obvious difference maker I still think he needs to improve in certain areas like containing his aggressiveness and having better tackling form as he seems to rely on his long lanky arms but overall still a great player. He also seemed to get bigger in the offseason. Baring an injury a top 5 pick in this year's upcoming draft.

STOCK DOWN

Josh Allen - QB - Wyoming - 6'5 233

Allen struggled against Iowa who traditionally has a good defense but still a QB who is projected to be the 1st overall pick should be dominating CFB, not getting blown out by Iowa. Allen unquestionably has a huge arm just makes really bad decisions and throws balls that shouldn't be thrown. Lucky for Allen it's only week 1 and Darnold/Rosen both struggled as well, but another performance like this can't happen. in 2 starts against power 5 competition Allen has 7 interceptions which is simply unacceptable. He was also sacked 3 times which was bad. If you follow my twitter you can see I'm slowly falling in love with Jarrett Stidham who is similar to Allen in terms of size and arm strength and Stidham look much more polished than Allen did and Stidham didn't even play last year. Allen still has a lot of development to do and in my opinion isn't NFL ready yet, but it has also only been 1 week.

Jake Browning - QB - Washington - 6'2 209

Browning faced off against a improving Rutgers team, but should of none the less dominated but he didn't. Browning didn't look comfortable in the first half and got knocked around to much, do to not finding his reads and poor pre snap management, there were unblocked rushers all night which is on Browning. Browning also looked like he missed John Ross's big play ability, Browning's game is predicated on hitting the deep pass to open up the underneath game and without a threat like Ross it was hard to make big plays, Dante Pettis did have a long TD though and thats what really broke the game open for Washington. Browning is in a loaded class and isn't really being talked up but in any other class he is probably the top guy, the season is still very young and unlike some of the other QB's in this class Browning is a proven winner.

Deondre Francois - QB - Florida St. - 6'2 205

Stock down here is evident for Francois after a huge season ending leg injury. Francois was expected to be another elite QB in this class and his loss is a crushing blow for Florida St. What he does have to look forward to is coming back next year in a not as loaded QB class and emerging as "the guy". This sucks for Francois who looked like he took that next step in the limited action I saw against Alabama, this might end up being a blessing in disguise for Francois who can work on his craft in the off season and comeback better in a weaker class and thrive for FSU.
