2014 NFL Mock Draft: Round 2

33. Houston Texans: Stephon Tuitt, DE/DT, Notre Dame
    Most expect the Texans to take a quarterback (Teddy Bridgewater) here, but as Charlie Campbell reported in the NFL Draft Rumor Mill, Houston is considering waiting until Round 3 for a signal-caller because it believes a first-round talent will fall to No. 33. Such a player could be Stephon Tuitt, who would fill a need. The Texans need to replace Antonio Smith.

34. Washington Redskins: Jason Verrett, CB, TCU
    We're heard that the Redskins like Jason Verrett, but we've never had him available this late. That could change, as reports have surfaced that he has shoulder issues. The Redskins need help at cornerback.

35. Cleveland Browns: Lamarcus Joyner, CB/S, Florida State
    The Browns are rumored to be looking into a cornerback early; they need an upgrade across from Joe Haden.
    
    
36. Oakland Raiders: Allen Robinson, WR, Penn State
    Nope, no receiver yet. The Raiders need players who can help them win now so that the front office and coaching staff can keep their jobs. A receiver makes sense if the Raiders don't take one at No. 5.

37. Atlanta Falcons: Dee Ford, DE/OLB, Auburn
    If the Falcons can't obtain Jadeveon Clowney or Khalil Mack in the first round, they'll almost certainly draft a pass-rusher here. Dee Ford fits what Thomas Dimitroff looks for in a prospect. I'm sure Mike Smith would love to have Ford on his team after the Auburn pass-rusher destroyed his offense at the Senior Bowl.
    
    
38. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Martavis Bryant, WR, Clemson
    The Buccaneers would love for Sammy Watkins to fall to them at No. 7, but there's not much of a chance of that happening. They could also take Mike Evans as a solid consolation prize. If, however, they go with the quarterback route, they may opt to address the receiver position in the second round.
    
    
39. Jacksonville Jaguars: Kyle Van Noy, DE/OLB, BYU
    The Jaguars could select Khalil Mack at No. 3, but if they don't, their LEO of the future could be chosen in the second or third round.

40. Kansas City Chiefs: Xavier Su'a-Filo, G, UCLA
    I've had the Chiefs selecting a guard for the longest time, but I've always prefaced that they would select Xavier Su'a-Filo if they could trade down. Well, here we are.

41. Buffalo Bills: Troy Niklas, TE, Notre Dame
    The Bills have to add play-makers around E.J. Manuel, who needs all the help he can get. The tight end position definitely needs to be upgraded.
    
    
42. Tennessee Titans: Jeremy Hill, RB, LSU
    The Titans have gotten rid of Chris Johnson, who was signed by the Jets (go here for my NFL Free Agent Signing Grades). Tennessee will obviously be searching for a new lead running back.
    
    
43. New York Giants: Carlos Hyde, RB, Ohio State
    The Giants signed Rashad Jennings, but they still need another running back. They can't rely on just Jennings until David Wilson returns.
    
    
44. St. Louis Rams: Dominique Easley, DT, Florida
    The Rams may want to add some depth on the defensive line, and perhaps a successor for Kendall Langford in a year or two.

45. Detroit Lions: Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt
    Like the Rams, Detroit has the option of moving up for a receiver in the first round. A swap with Oakland to obtain Sammy Watkins or Mike Evans is very possible. If that doesn't happen, the Lions could take a receiver at No. 45.
    
    
46. Pittsburgh Steelers: Louis Nix, NT, Notre Dame
    The Steelers lost Ziggy Hood and Al Woods in free agency. Neither was an impactful player, but the team is severely lacking in depth up front. Louis Nix qualifies as best player available.
    
    
47. Dallas Cowboys: Scott Crichton, DE, Oregon State
    The Cowboys managed to re-sign Anthony Spencer, but they're still in desperate need of help at both defensive end and defensive tackle. Scott Crichton is a great fit for Monte Kiffin's stop unit.
    
    
48. Baltimore Ravens: Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State
    The Ravens need a big receiver to compensate for the loss of Anquan Boldin. They've shown lots of interest in Kelvin Benjamin.

49. New York Jets: Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington
    Kellen Winslow proved to be an insufficient replacement for Dustin Keller, so this is a position New York will look to upgrade this offseason.
    
    
50. Miami Dolphins: Chris Borland, ILB, Wisconsin
    The Dolphins are in the market for a new middle linebacker, as Dannell Ellerbe predictably struggled this past season. Miami's new front office has no allegiance to Ellerbe.
    
    
51. Chicago Bears: Kareem Martin, DE, North Carolina
    I mentioned in the first round that Chicago's current regime has drafted athletes who can play multiple positions. That's not the case with Kareem Martin - though he could rush inside on passing downs - but he also fits Phil Emery's big, athletic prospect mold.
    
    
52. Arizona Cardinals: Demarcus Lawrence, DE/OLB, Boise State
    Arizona needs a better pass-rusher across from Sam Acho. Its front line is pretty fierce, but the outside linebackers have been lackluster.

53. Green Bay Packers: Jace Amaro, TE, Texas Tech
    The Packers will be targeting a tight end in Rounds 2-4, and Jace Amaro makes a lot of sense. Amaro may not be available at this juncture - it will be tough for him to get by the Jets - so Green Bay may trade up, just like it did for Jerel Worthy in the second round two years ago.
    
    
54. Philadelphia Eagles: Jeremiah Attaochu, DE/OLB, Georgia Tech
    One of the positions the Eagles are looking to upgrade on defense is outside linebacker to help improve their pass rush. Jeremiah Attaochu, who would probably go earlier than this if he wasn't injured, would be a perfect fit for Philadelphia's stop unit.
    
    
55. Cincinnati Bengals: Cameron Fleming, OT, Stanford
    The Bengals lost Anthony Collins in free agency, so they'll have to look elsewhere for a long-term solution at left tackle.
    
    
56. Tennessee Titans: Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama
    This is the pick the Titans acquired in the first-round trade. They could use this selection to obtain a potential left tackle of the future, given that Michael Roos is entering his contract season.
    
    
    
    
    
57. San Diego Chargers: Carl Bradford, LB, Arizona State
    The Chargers need pass-rushing help across from Melvin Ingram. The edge rushers are flying off the board, so they better take one here.

58. New Orleans Saints: Marcus Martin, C, USC
    The Saints are very thin on the offensive interior, especially at center. They're rumored to be high on Marcus Martin and could even take him in the first round.
    
    
59. Indianapolis Colts: Jimmie Ward, S, Northern Illinois
    The Colts need to upgrade their secondary after Alex Smith looked so unstoppable in the opening-round playoff game. Multiple picks could be used on the defensive backfield.

60. Carolina Panthers: Davante Adams, WR, Fresno State
    The Panthers' receiving corps is a joke right now. They're so desperate for a wideout that they may have to as Nate from the Play 60 commercials to catch passes from Cam Newton (as posted in my April Fools Mock Draft). They almost have to go with a wideout in the first two rounds.
    
    
61. San Francisco 49ers: Keith McGill, CB, Utah
    San Francisco's group of cornerbacks isn't very strong, as Carlos Rogers and Tarell Brown have both moved on to new teams. The 49ers are weak at this position, so they could easily spend two early selections on upgrades in the 2014 NFL Draft.
    
    
62. New England Patriots: Weston Richburg, C, Colorado State
    Ryan Wendell was re-signed, but an upgrade at center is still needed. He was most responsible for Tom Brady's poor pass protection.
    
    
63. Denver Broncos: Trent Murphy, DE/OLB, Stanford
    The Broncos lost Robert Ayers and Shaun Phillips, so they might be interested in addressing their depth at defensive end, all while finding a potential successor for DeMarcus Ware.
    
    
64. Seattle Seahawks: Marcus Smith, DE/OLB, Louisville
    The Seahawks lost Chris Clemons to the Jaguars and may see Cliff Avril walk next spring. They need a new LEO. Marcus Smith perfectly fits what Seattle looks for in its draft prospects.
