2014 NFL Mock Draft: Round 3

65. Houston Texans: Tom Savage, QB, Pittsburgh
    As Charlie reported in the NFL Draft Rumor Mill, the Texans would prefer to take a quarterback in the third round. They can land either Tom Savage or Zach Mettenberger here.

66. Washington Redskins: Antonio Richardson, OT, Tennessee
    Right tackle Tyler Polumbus will be a free agent after this season, so the Redskins may want to add a potential replacement.
    
    
67. Oakland Raiders: Gabe Jackson, G, Mississippi State
    Austin Howard is projected to play guard, but that's only because the Raiders have a big hole at the position. They may draft someone they really like instead and move Howard to right tackle.

68. Atlanta Falcons: Deone Bucannon, S, Washington State
    The Falcons addressed a bunch of needs this offseason, but one hole that remains is the safety position, as the team recently cut Thomas DeCoud.
    
    
    
    
    
69. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Trai Turner, G, LSU
    It's strange that some of the national media people believe that the Buccaneers have a need at tackle. That's hardly the case, but Tampa does need to bolster the interior of its offensive line.
    
    
70. Jacksonville Jaguars: Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Eastern Illinois
    The Jaguars have to take a quarterback early for obvious reasons. They've spent lots of time with Jimmy Garoppolo, so they may even take him in the second round.

71. Cleveland Browns: Jack Mewhort, OT, Ohio State
    There's speculation that the Browns could take a right tackle early in the 2014 NFL Draft in order to move Mitchell Schwartz to guard.
    
    
72. Kansas City Chiefs: Marcus Roberson, CB, Florida
    This is the Chiefs' pick via the first-round trade. The Vikings moved up for Derek Carr. Kansas City will need a corner if it decides to trade away Brandon Flowers.

73. Buffalo Bills: Bashaud Breeland, CB, Clemson
    The Bills have brought in a bunch of cornerbacks, so that might be a sign that they're going to take one somewhat early in the 2014 NFL Draft. Perhaps Corey Graham will move to safety.
    
    
74. New York Giants: Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State
    These were the defensive tackles on the Giants' depth chart before they re-signed Mike Patterson: Cullen Jenkins, Johnathan Hankins and Markus Kuhn. Think the team needs an upgrade at the position after losing Linval Joseph to the Vikings?
    
    
75. St. Louis Rams: Dion Bailey, S, USC
    St. Louis' defense came on late in the season, but it struggled at times during the year for a couple of reasons. One was the play of safety Rodney McLeod. He wasn't terrible, but it's clear that the Rams need to find an upgrade next to T.J. McDonald.
    
    
76. Detroit Lions: Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska
    The Lions may not go with a cornerback early, but they'll have to address the position at some point during this draft.
    
    
    
    
    
77. San Francisco 49ers: Pierre Desir, CB, Lindenwood
    The secondary is a troublesome area for the 49ers, so they may spend multiple selections on the cornerback position.
    
    
78. Dallas Cowboys: Jarvis Landry, WR, LSU
    There's been speculation that the Cowboys could take a receiver early. They need a new tertiary option with Miles Austin-Jones gone.
    
    
79. Baltimore Ravens: Brandon Thomas, OT/G, Clemson
    I'm sure Ozzie Newsome would consider Brandon Thomas somewhat a steal, given that he was seen as a borderline first-round prospect prior to his injury. Thomasfills a big need at right tackle.
    
    
80. New York Jets: Paul Richardson, WR, Colorado
    The Jets need to add more play-makers to the roster because Geno Smith was surrounded by the worst supporting cast in the NFL last year. Eric Decker was signed, but New York needs more receivers.
    
    
81. Miami Dolphins: Billy Turner, OT, North Dakota State
    Expect the Dolphins to double up on tackles and triple up on offensive linemen overall during the draft. They need to overcompensate for what happened last year.
    
    
82. Chicago Bears: Jaylen Watkins, CB, Florida
    This is the pick the Bears acquired in the first round. Chicago was able to re-sign Tim Jennings recently, while Charles Tillman was brought back, but for only one year. The Bears have to deal with Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford twice per year, so they'll definitely look to upgrade their secondary with multiple selections.
    
    
83. Cleveland Browns: Tre Mason, RB, Auburn
    The Browns signed Ben Tate, but they can't rely on him to stay healthy. It appears as though they agree with that, given that they didn't pay him very much. The Vikings once chose Toby Gerhart in the second round with Adrian Peterson on the roster, so Cleveland could take Tre Mason in the third.
    
    
84. Arizona Cardinals: Craig Loston, S, LSU
    Arizona has to find some help at the safety position. They've had luck with LSU defensive backs before, so why not try another one?
    
    
    
    
    
85. Green Bay Packers: Terrence Brooks, S, Florida State
    Is there any doubt that the Packers need to improve their secondary? Their defensive backfield blew so many coverages throughout the season, and they had no chance against Colin Kaepernick.
    
    
86. Philadelphia Eagles: Christian Kirksey, LB, Iowa
    The Eagles have shown a ton of interest in Christian Kirksey and have designs for him in their defense. They need to add another linebacker.
    
    
87. Kansas City Chiefs: Brandon Coleman, WR, Rutgers
    As mentioned, the Chiefs are considering Marqise Lee with their first pick, especially if they stay put. If they take a guard instead, a receiver will be in play here.

88. Cincinnati Bengals: Jackson Jeffcoat, DE/OLB, Texas
    The Bengals lost Michael Johnson to the Buccaneers this offseason, so they may want to bring in a new defensive end.
    
    
    
    
    
89. San Diego Chargers: Rashaad Reynolds, CB, Oregon State
    The Chargers' defense made every single quarterback look like a Pro Bowler early in the year. They have a dreadful cornerback situation, which could be remedied with the use of an early-round pick in May's draft.
    
    
90. Indianapolis Colts: David Yankey, G/OT, Stanford
    The Colts' top priority has to be protecting Andrew Luck, so they're expected to use one of their second-day choices on a lineman.

91. New Orleans Saints: Dri Archer, RB/WR, Kent State
    Dri Archer is an obvious fit for the Saints. They lost Darren Sproles, so they might want to obtain another weapon like him.
    
    
92. Carolina Panthers: James Hurst, OT, North Carolina
    The Panthers are desperate for a left tackle. Their first three picks could be used on one as well as two receivers.

93. New England Patriots: DaQuan Jones, NT, Penn State
    This pick makes sense even with the Ra'Shede Hageman first-round selection. Vince Wilfork was re-signed, but he won't be around much longer. The Patriots need a long-term solution at nose tackle.
    
    
94. San Francisco 49ers: Ahmad Dixon, S, Baylor
    The 49ers spent a first-round pick on a safety last year, but they may have to use another selection on one with Donte Whitner signed on with the Browns.
    
    
95. Denver Broncos: Bishop Sankey, RB, Washington
    Another second-day running back may seem strange, but Knowshon Moreno is gone, and Ronnie Hillman hasn't earned much trust from the coaching staff.
    
    
96. Minnesota Vikings: Trevor Reilly, DE/OLB, Utah
    The Vikings need a pass-rushing linebacker for Mike Zimmer's defense. They could even take Anthony Barr No. 8 overall.

97. Pittsburgh Steelers: Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss
    The Steelers signed Lance Moore to replace Jerricho Cotchery, but he's just a temporary solution.
    
    
98. Green Bay Packers: Jared Abbrederis, WR, Wisconsin
    The Packers lost James Jones to the Raiders, so they may want to add another receiver.
    
    
99. Baltimore Ravens: Terrance West, RB, Towson
    Given Ray Rice's struggles and legal issues, the Ravens may use a pick in the middle rounds on a new running back.
    
    
100. San Francisco 49ers: Logan Thomas, QB, Virginia Tech
     The 49ers have so many picks that they'll probably use a mid-rounder on a developmental quarterback. Jim Harbaugh has shown interest in Logan Thomas.
