2014 NFL Not Draft

THIS IS NOT A 2014 NFL MOCK DRAFT. Click the link to see my real 2014 NFL Mock Draft. This is a 2014 NFL Not Draft - a compilation of popular mock picks that, in my opinion, will not happen. For the record, I was wrong about zero "not" picks in my 2012 and 2013 Not Mocks (which means I was right about none of my projections not happening).

1. Houston Texans: Khalil Mack, DE/OLB, Buffalo
   As you can see in our NFL Rumors page, Adam Schefter said that the Texans will pick Jadeveon Clowney or Khalil Mack if they stay at No. 1. Mack could be the choice if Houston moves down - the Rams will strongly consider him at No. 2 - but he won't be the top selection. Peter King recently wrote that the Texans' general manager prefers Mack over Clowney, but that is B.S.
   
   
2. St. Louis Rams: Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn
   I'm not messing around here! Greg Robinson is a popular selection at No. 2, but Charlie Campbell's recent report contradicts that. If you missed it, the Rams are deciding between Khalil Mack or Sammy Watkins at No. 2 barring a trade or Clowney being available. Besides, Jeff Fisher doesn't believe in spending early selections on tackles.
   
   
3. Jacksonville Jaguars: Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
   This was a tough one, as the Jaguars are crazy enough to do anything, which includes spending two consecutive No. 1 choices on right tackles. I'd have a field day with that, especially if they chose the "lesser" one. Jake Matthews to Jacksonville has been discussed on the NFL Rumors page, but I don't see it happening unless the Jaguars move down.
   
   
4. Cleveland Browns: Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville
   It sounds like the Browns will be targeting a quarterback at No. 4. It could be Johnny Manziel, Blake Bortles or Derek Carr. It's not going to be Teddy Bridgewater, who is likely to fall into Round 2. In fact, one NFC personnel executive told us that Bridgewater is a fourth-round guy.
   
   
   
   
   
5. Oakland Raiders: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M
   Johnny Manziel will go in the 3-13 range, according to Adam Schefter. I'm not feeling him to the Raiders though. It just doesn't seem like a good fit. His skill set doesn't match the offensive scheme, and there might be some trepidation about his off-the-field lifestyle.
   
   
6. Atlanta Falcons: Anthony Barr, DE/OLB, UCLA
   The Falcons would go nuts if they could obtain Jadeveon Clowney. They'd love it if Khalil Mack happened to fall to them. They'd really like Greg Robinson at No. 6. They'd like Jake Matthews here, but not as much. Matthews appears to be the worst-case scenario for the Falcons. I just don't see Anthony Barr being a fit unless Atlanta moves down.
   
   
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson
   I saw a prominent NFL analyst tweet that there was a 50-50 shot that Sammy Watkins would be available at No. 7. I nearly s*** myself. Blue-chip prospects like Watkins just don't fall. The only way he makes it to Tampa's pick is if David Caldwell seizes control of every team and drafts right tackles for each of them.
   
   
8. Minnesota Vikings: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M
   Johnny Manziel is a popular pick here - or at least he was - but he is just a poor fit for Norv Turner's offense. The Vikings prefer Blake Bortles and Derek Carr over Johnny Football.
   
   
   
   
   
9. Buffalo Bills: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
   If the Bills draft a right tackle, it'll be Jake Matthews. Buffalo will be targeting Matthews, Mike Evans or Eric Ebron at this juncture. One of those prospects will be theirs. I suppose there's a minuscule chance Lewan will be the pick, but I'm confident enough to make this a "not" selection.
   
   
10. Detroit Lions: Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State
    Many mocks are slotting Justin Gilbert to the Lions, but the front office doesn't view the cornerback position as big of a need as the media and casual fans do. Detroit likes its young corners.
    
    
11. Tennessee Titans: Any Quarterback
    It doesn't appear as though the Titans will be drafting a quarterback in the first round. Ken Whisenhunt will attempt to coach up Jake Locker for at least a year, though there's a chance Tennessee will take a signal-caller in Rounds 2-4.
    
    
12. New York Giants: Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
    Of all the "not" picks, this one has the greatest chance of happening. However, mocking Taylor Lewan to the Giants doesn't make much sense to me. New York has a potential left tackle of the future in Justin Pugh, and Will Beatty might be back from injury anyway. If so, where does Lewan fit in with Pugh, Beatty and Geoff Schwartz all up front? Besides, Lewan has character issues that could cause him to drop a bit.
    
    
    
    
    
13. St. Louis Rams: Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&M
    There has been some speculation that the Rams could take Johnny Manziel will their second opening-round selection. I wouldn't say that's impossible, but I don't think it's very likely. Sam Bradford's contract will make that difficult. It also seems like St. Louis' coaching staff wants to give Bradford another chance.
    
    
14. Chicago Bears: Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville
    The Bears could definitely take Ha Ha Clinton-Dix at this juncture, but Calvin Pryor would be much different than the type of athlete Phil Emery has selected since becoming general manager of the team. There should be better players available anyway.
    
    
15. Pittsburgh Steelers: Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State
    The Steelers always find a way to draft a talented prospect who falls to them. It could be Eric Ebron or Justin Gilbert this year. Darqueze Dennard doesn't fit that description. In fact, there has been some indication that Dennard could fall out of the first round. Pittsburgh wouldn't take a player like that, and I'm sure the team wouldn't be too crazy about his 5-11 frame.
    
    
16. Dallas Cowboys: Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State
    The Cowboys need a defensive tackle, and Aaron Donald is off the board. Why not Timmy Jernigan? Well, Monte Kiffin doesn't view the 1-technique as very important, which would explain why Dallas passed on Sharrif Floyd last spring. Jernigan doesn't make much sense at No. 16.
