2010 Fantasy Football Rankings - Miami Dolphins 2010 Fantasy Football Rankings - Miami Dolphins:

Updated 6/6

  • Chad Henne, QB, Dolphins. Bye: 5.
I really like Chad Henne as a high-upside QB2. In his first year as a starter, Henne totaled 2,878 yards, 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 13 starts. Henne is a skilled quarterback with a big arm, but the reason he's a deep sleeper of mine is because of Brandon Marshall. According to my fantasy quarterbacks with new receivers article, Henne is projected to throw for 3,948 yards, 23 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. I could certainly see that happening.

Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 3,800 passing yards. 23 passing TDs. 16 INTs. 30 rushing yards. 1 rushing TD.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Points (ESPN Scoring): 221.
Projected 2010 Fantasy Points (QB Friendly): 305.

  • Ronnie Brown, RB, Dolphins. Bye: 5.
Dating back to high school, Ronnie Brown has never carried the load and remained healthy. He has avoided the IR only when he has shared carries. Now at 28 and coming off a Lisfranc fracture, it'll take a miracle for Brown to play more than 12 games this season. In those 12 games, however, Brown will be a big producer for you.

Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 825 rushing yards. 27 catches. 225 receiving yards. 10 total TDs.
    Projected 2010 Fantasy Points: 165.
Projected 2010 PPR Fantasy Points: 192.

  • Ricky Williams, RB, Dolphins. Bye: 5.
Ricky Williams is 33 and has more than 2,100 career carries on his resume. Those are two huge red flags, but just remember how brittle Ronnie Brown is. Brown will undoubtedly get hurt and miss significant time, meaning Williams should receive a substantial amount of carries in 2010. Miami really needs to address the running back position next offseason.

Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 850 rushing yards. 25 catches. 190 receiving yards. 8 total TDs.
    Projected 2010 Fantasy Points: 152.
Projected 2010 PPR Fantasy Points: 177.

  • Brandon Marshall, WR, Dolphins. Bye: 5.
Brandon Marshall caught 101 passes for 1,120 yards and 10 touchdowns with Kyle Orton. Something tells me that Marshall will be fine with Chad Henne. Marshall's reception total will likely drop in Miami's offense, but his yards per catch will rise because unlike Orton, Henne doesn't have the arm strength of a 12-year-old girl. In fact, Henne's actually a fantasy sleeper of mine because quarterbacks with new receivers thrive in fantasy football.

Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 88 catches. 1,100 yards. 9 total TDs.
    Projected 2010 Fantasy Points: 164.
Projected 2010 PPR Fantasy Points: 252.

  • Brian Hartline, WR, Dolphins. Bye: 5.
As a rookie, Brian Hartline notched 31 receptions, 506 yards and three touchdowns. In addition to having more experience, Hartline will benefit from Brandon Marshall's constant double teams. The former Buckeye has a ton of upside.

Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 54 catches. 810 yards. 5 total TDs.
    Projected 2010 Fantasy Points: 111.
Projected 2010 PPR Fantasy Points: 165.

  • Davone Bess, WR, Dolphins. Bye: 5.
A PPR specialist, Davone Bess will once again play in the slot and rack up tons of receptions for the Dolphins. He had 76 in 2009.

Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 70 catches. 710 yards. 2 total TDs.
    Projected 2010 Fantasy Points: 111.
Projected 2010 PPR Fantasy Points: 165.

  • Anthony Fasano, TE, Dolphins. Bye: 5.
I guess Anthony Fasano's seven touchdowns in 2008 were a fluke. Fasano scored just twice last season. He's a non-factor.

Projected 2010 Fantasy Stats: 30 catches. 350 yards. 2 total TDs.
    Projected 2010 Fantasy Points: 47.
Projected 2010 PPR Fantasy Points: 77.

  • Dan Carpenter, K, Dolphins. Bye: 5.
Dan Carpenter has been great for the Dolphins, nailing 21-of-25 field goals in 2008 and 25-of-28 in 2009. In the two years combined, Carpenter is 2-of-3 from 50-plus and 17-of-22 from 40-49 (8-of-9 in 2009). Miami has an improved offense, so Carpenter will have more opportunities.

    Projected 2009 Fantasy Stats: 26-30 FG (1-2 from 50+; 9-11 from 40-49). 43 XP.
    Projected 2009 Fantasy Points: 131.

  • Miami Dolphins. Bye: 5.
The Dolphins collected 44 sacks in 2009, but their two sack leaders, Jason Taylor and Joey Porter, are gone. Cameron Wake should be able to take over as the primary pass-rusher, but Koa Misi may not be ready to contribute right away. Overall, Miami's fantasy defense is about in the middle of the pack. You'll be able to start them against the Bills, Lions, Bears and Browns, but not really anyone else.
