2011 Fantasy Football Training Camp Stock - Week of Aug. 15

AUG. 18

I'll have my 2011 Fantasy Football Rankings updated Thursday morning to take these stocks into account.

Jeremy Maclin, WR, Eagles
Great news out of Philadelphia. Jeremy Maclin reportedly doesn't have mono, AIDS, cancer or anything else that has been rumored. He's apparently fine and has been cleared to run and lift. He can't practice yet, but that could change soon. I'd still suggest caution for now.

Louis Murphy, WR, Raiders
What a surprise - the injury-prone Louis Murphy has already been ruled out for Week 1 because of a hamstring injury. Those tend to linger, so come up with a new late-round flier if you liked Murphy.

Jonathan Stewart, RB, Panthers
What a surprise - the injury-prone Jonathan Stewart is missing practice. Stewart has aggravated his Achilles tendon, which he had surgery on last offseason. Maybe the Panthers knew what they were doing by giving DeAngelo Williams all that money.

AUG. 17

I'll have my 2011 Fantasy Football Rankings updated Wednesday morning to take these stocks into account.

Ryan Grant, RB, Packers
Ryan Grant gets an arrow up because James Starks is missing practice time. Starks will unseat Grant as the starter at some point this year, but that date may have been pushed back.

Chris Johnson, RB, Titans
Is Chris Johnson insane? Does he really think he's going to receive anything close to $13 million per year? If I'm Tennessee's general manager, I'm saying, "All right, have a nice life, Chris. We're going with Javon Ringer." I have to think this ugly holdout will end before the start of the regular season, and I still would take Johnson in the first round. I actually selected Johnson with the No. 8 overall in a Fantasy Experts Draft, which I will be posting soon. If you do take Johnson, you almost have to make sure you acquire Ringer in the ninth or 10th round.

Javon Ringer, RB, Titans
Javon Ringer has suddenly become somewhat of a hot commodity. Chris Johnson could hold out into the regular season, which would make Ringer a legitimate RB2. If you have Johnson on your roster, make sure you pick up Ringer.

James Starks, RB, Packers
James Starks has missed the past few practices with an ankle injury. His experience is lacking, so he needs all the reps he can get to overtake the inferior Ryan Grant as Green Bay's starting running back. He won't be able to do that if he's hurt.
