Kansas Edge Defender Dorance Armstrong Impressed Evaluators

Every year during the leadup to an NFL draft, there are some prospects for the years ahead who jump off the screen to NFL evaluators during film study. Even though teams are focused on the players for the upcoming draft, some prospects are so dynamic with how much they impact the game and how impressive their physical talents are, they can't not get noticed. In speaking with team sources, one of the 2018 or 2019 prospects who was impossible to ignore was Kansas defensive end Dorance Armstrong Jr.
In 2016 as a sophomore, Armstrong had some serious production with 10 sacks, 20 tackles for a loss, 56 tackles, and three forced fumbles while being a First-Team All-Big XII selection. The 6-foot-4, 241-pounder has speed and athleticism with the frame to add weight for the NFL if his team desires.
One general manager said they think Armstrong is a stud and they can't see him staying for his senior year rather than entering the 2018 NFL Draft. They believe Armstrong could be on a par or better than Boston College senior edge rusher Harold Landry. That general manager thought Landry would have been a late first- or second-round pick if he had entered the 2017 NFL Draft. Between LSU's Arden Key, Ohio State's Sam Hubbard, North Carolina State's Bradley Chubb, Florida State's Josh Sweat, Landry and Armstrong; the 2018 NFL Draft has the potential to be a strong year for edge defenders. Armstrong already has made a good impression on NFL evaluators heading into his junior season.
