If I told you there was a big arm QB who could stand in the pocket , make every throw on the field , he was big , could take a hit , was mobile and every time the ball left his hands you were in awe and at times you felt you were looking at a potential number 1 pick.

Also when you watched that same prospect you see him make an inexplicably errant throw , in pivotal moments in the game , in the redzone , just totally kill drives and results in his team losing games .

That QB I'm telling you about is none other than Deshone Kizer , or could it be Jay Cutler ? Kizer like Cutler has all the physical tools , size , toughness, also like Cutler , Kizer can kill a drive , momentum and can lose a game for you just as much as he can win it , if the NFL paid QB's to look great while throwing the ball and looking the part then Kizer would be a no brainer to be a number 1 pick , but QB's are paid to get results , they are paid to win games and like Cutler coming out of Vanderbilt, GMs are right to be concerned that is Kize capable of galvanizing a locker room , putting it all together and being the face of a franchise that can win games in the NFL ?

Sure Notre Dame had one of the worst defenses in college football , sure you can say Brian Kelly lost his locker room over the course of the season , sure on some plays Kizer suffered from dropped passes by WR , but Kizer must  accept some of the blame as he's on the field and is supposed to be the team leader , in the NFL you get drafted to bad teams with limited rosters but as the QB they expect you to uplift and take them out of that rut and lead them to victory and  ulitmatelty to a championship.

Once upon a time Cutler had those same excuses, bad team , no WR , poor coaching and we have seen over time despite his immense talent , Cutler hasn't been able  to shake that loser stench , and has been unable to provide any team he's been apart of with the leadership to win in the NFL. Now Kizer could be different , and could find his way in the NFL and mature into the next elite QB but he could also be Jay Cutler . I would still take a chance on him in the first round but this comparison would be in the back of my mind .
