The Chiefs do not have a first round pick this season.

Round 2 Pick #54 WR Dante Pettis Washington

Kansas City could really use another speedy receiver to compliment Tyreek Hill. Pettis was one of the best receivers to play at Washington. Having another speedy target and sure handed receiver could boost the confidence of first time starter Patrick Mahomes. Pettis is not a big target at only 6'1" and 194 LBS, but his speed gives him separation that allows him to make plays that most receivers his size could not make.

Round 3 Pick #84 DE Da'Shawn Hand Alabama

Hand is a very athletic defensive lineman. He is 6'4" and 297 lbs. But has the speed of someone smaller. After releasing Taba Hali, that production will need to be replaced. Hand has a lot of experience playing in big games at Alabama. Hand had a big impact in the 2016 National Championship against Clemson making several important tackles that almost allowed the Tide to win the National Championship.

Round 4 Pick#122 DT R.J. Mcintosh Miami (FL)

The Chiefs defense needs to reach the quarterback more often. McIntosh made an impact with the Hurricanes. He has stayed healthy and has good knees, which is important in the NFL. He has the ability to get low on the offensive lineman and drive with his strong legs. McIntosh reaches the quarterback often and is often able to stop the ball carrier in the backfield before he gets going.

Round 6 Pick #196 CB Greg Stroman Virginia Tech

The Chiefs need to help sure up the secondary. Stroman would be a good 6th round addition to just about any team. He is 6' and has the ability to get up and make plays on the ball. As a dual-threat quarterback in high school, Stroman has the quickness of feet to stay with NFL wide receivers. One concern about Stroman has been injuries. He has missed some time with injuries, which could be a problem.

Round 6 Pick #209 OG Shaun Welsh Iowa

Offensive lineman are always important for any team to add depth to. Welsh could play just about anywhere on the line in the NFL. He was a center in college, but will most likely be used as a guard on most NFL teams.

Round 7 Pick #234 S Jeremy Reaves South Alabama

Reaves is a physical safety who attended South Alabama. Being from a smaller school may cost him a round or two, but he could add an important piece to almost any defense.

Round 7 Pick #243 NT Josh Frazier Alabama

With the loss of Dontari Poe a big Nose Tackle is an important spot that the Chiefs need to address. The Nose tackle is often an underrated player on the defensive line, but is very important in stopping the run.
