NFL: I go 1-1, in three team teaser play last week. Unfortunately the Pats (my lone loss) cost me on the bigger wagered teaser. Early, but I like the half point straight lines for the weekend games: 4 team 13 pointer with Buff +15.5, NE +8.5 and (waiting at this time for half point lines to come in) Nor +, Sea +. Still trying to get through my "hangover" from the NE game last Sunday. NHL: Closing a three team par today with VGK -230, hedging for 20 percent on the comeback. I might have a flyer par later. GLTA.

I guess because I am 95 percent of the time, one of the MANY "ham and egger" wagerers, I don't really realize that the juice can be prohibitive. NHL: Ever since we got close to Christmas the NHL has become a mini mystery for me....(again.) Last night got to the second tier spot only to see the Knights wet the bed again. Had it hedged of course but still lose a little coin. For today: In an ongoing par, going in the second tier spot will be TOR -235, one open. @Snow white: Yes mam, that is correct. I rarely mention outcomes of my NHL "flyer" pars....coin wagered is embarrassingly low. I do on occasion mention when I hit the flyer, because again, it's a pretty rare thing. But hey, ....thanks for noticing. 1 0

@Ravineman: Hey bud, maybe I'm just not getting it, (juice vs. line.) This is my only big complaint with Walter, he as well, puts a lot of weight (thinking) on the ML vs. spread line and (again) I don't really get it. Example: If your a basic ("ham and egg-er") wagerer say 1 unit per play are you really telling me that getting to +4 with Seattle is not worth the 25 percent price tag?? That breaks down to $110 to win $100 at +3.5 vs. $125 to win 100 at +4. Are you really going to sweat the extra $15.00 and Not Get the pretty Substantial football number of 4??? I mean that 4 could very well get you a push and all is good/forgotten in the increased juice for this game. Or are you a much bigger hitter?? Say usually, 5 units per play?? Then we are talking about $550 to win $500 at +3.5 as opposed to laying $625 to win $500 at +4. Now that is a $75.00 differential, but if you are you used to playing say $550 per game/risk play anyway, is the $75.00 really at this point that important?? Not trying to be a smart ass here, just trying to understand. Appreciate a response. GL going forward Sir.

NFL: Getting into the..."what are the motivations for the good, the bad and the ugly" teams in the NFL. For the big boy league, I am not a big fan on trying to figure out teams state of mind. All I know is that the great teams are trying not to get hurt (playoffs) and the middle teams..frick, who knows?? The Ugly teams, well their still pretty much ugly. Posted TWO pretty substantial wagered Teasers the other day and I think that is it for me today. GL to all.

@chuckster state of mind is critical - especially late in the season; EG Raiders last ever home game at the venue went poorly vs Jaguars, but they started well away from home in week 16 - playing with the freedom that relief brings - they were glad to put the "last home game" experience behind them and they overachieved. And, as I mentioned waaay down below about the Colts: they prepared all week for week 15 MNF with excitement...but then the week 15 Sunday results sunk their season. They played poorly because their week 15 game was ruined just before it started; then they were able to atone for the MNF shocking performance against a lowly ranked team and win HUGE - even if their points were scored in a atypical manner. Seahawks - they sat down at their bye week and ticked off 1 only easy win - a week 16 home game against the Cardinals; they were always a big chance to underperform in that one (though an outright loss was a bit of a shock). If I get any bright ideas for week 17, will let you know. Merry Christmas from a snowless and sunny Australia

NFL: Went 1-1 in teaser play, my larger coined teaser play won, so I guess that's something. For this week: Start up three team 10 point teaser with Packers +15, two open (for the moment.) Waiting for the Patriot game to come up on the board, when it does, more than likely I will immediately be teasing NE. NHL: Closing a three team par from last night with the NYI -165, hedging for 20 percent on the comeback. A start up three team par with the Blues -145, two open. GL today/tonight.

@Walter: Not to mention the first GB score, that was a complete "hose job," "home cooking officiating" and possibly one of the most ridiculous "NO Challenge" by Chicago Bears coach!! I'm talking about the ridiculous interference penalty call by a defender on a punt return attempt. On a Bears player who made a ABSOLUTELY great/legal hit on a GB punt returner!! Not only that, but the ball was fumbled and should have been Bears ball. I'm not one of those who like to call out bad refed calls...but DAMMNN!! BTW: I had "no dogs in this fight," (Sorry Vic.)

NFL: Barely played yesterday, but what I played I won. Three observations from yesterday: 1. The Pats and the Packers are one of the worst looking 11-3 teams I have seen for quite a while. Tom Brady has (Finally,) digressed in his QB ability. He is now a C/C+ of himself, which I guess graded against his peer group this season, makes him a B- overall. The Packers "should be" a lot better. But something has been off with Rodgers and that offense for over two years now. We only get periodic "glimpses" during games now, of what "WAS." 2. Saints and Seattle now get a break with Niners loss, in the hunt for Home Field throughout in the NFC. Should be a very interesting last two regular season games for these guys. 3. This Sundays Ravens game might be the last time we see Balt with all of their regulars playing. If they win this Sunday, they will lock up their AFC home field. GL today/tonight and GO Saints, closing a two team 6.5 teaser with them at -2.5.

NFL; Lost my NO -2 and Pats -3 par. The NO/SF game just highlights again, what has been going on in NFL for the last 10 years or so......Points...Points...Points...Defenses it seems, must now hope for outdoor venues with modest to bad weather to have any hope of consistent stops. New age football..Yuck. All we need now is a complete net running the width of the field, right behind the goalposts and play it as you see it. It's Arena football ladies and gentlemen!! SMH.

Still have no idea who I want tonight, in Thursday night football. If the line could get to 2.5, I think I could hold my nose and take a shot with Dallas. However the line (ML) seems to be going up with the Cowboys at -3. We will see. I did see that the Packers are down to -12.5 and that is great because it's 3 team, 10 point teaser, value time. So, Packers -2.5, two open at the moment. GL tonight.

@Chomping at the Bit: Seven strongest MOV s in the NFL in Descending order: 3, 7, 4, 6, 1. (Yea I know Walter you like the 6 ahead of the 4,) 10, 14. The numbered 3 being Way Ahead of all other numbers, even by more than 2 to 1 over second place 7. My point being here, is that when you are thinking about the line, the 3 is the starting point. Yes, I know some folks like to TRY and cap inside of 3. I would think that over a substancial period of time only those who "walk on water," have very much success with that. GL going forward Sir.

If the Ravens win out (reg season,) my Patriots are DONE. Also really hate to say this but after watching #12 for his entire career..."Father Time' has arriveD on Brady s doorstep. Not saying he is bad by any means, but there have been certain throws that he has made in his sleep that are now just not there. Brady is now a B+ quarterback which is fine, especially at 42 years young. But that loss last night along with last years Superbowl AND basically this entire season for him have been eyeopening for all Patriot fans. Will keep on rooting of course, but now with a totally different perspective.

An ongoing three team 7 pointer (for more) with: NO at Pick (win,) Philly -2.5 (earlier pick) Pitt +8. Teaser Hedge (sort of) with Tn +9.5, two open. NHL: (SMH.) So "of course," I hit all five of my choices yesterday on the ice. Good stuff right? Well, (sigh)... there are two problems: 1. I wagered Way Small on this and 2. For some Ridiculous reason I split these games into wait for it... TWO different open pars, four in one and one in the other....There are no words except Argg. For today: Closing this ongoing 5 team par with: NYI -195, hedging for 20 percent on the comeback. I'm getting paid on this sucker, even if it's the hedge play for of course, Less. In the other ongoing par, closing this baby up with: Calgary -225, Buff +1.5 PL -120, SJ +1.5 PL -240 and STL -120. No Hedges here, all these games are intermingled (opening drop puck wise.) @TTS: Good write up man. Going to have to go with the better QB (even if he is on the road) and that of course means Baltimore. I believe the Ravens will "play out" for this one for three reasons: 1. They are feeling pretty invincible right now and winning promotes good play. 2. Along with reason #1 this will be nation watched and the Ravens I think want to showcase what they are about. 3. This might be Patriot bias, but I believe the Ravens want the top seed come playoff time, (No AFC team wants to play NE at Foxboro, believe me,) which basically means they need to win straight out and hope for one more Patriot loss. (Ravens will hold the tie breaker in the event of a season record tie. So, closing a (for more) three team 7 pointer with the Ravens +3.5. I really like the Ravens chances straight up here, but this is more of a safety call for me (I hope) with the closing teaser play. GL to all tonight.

NFL: Closing a four team 13 point teaser with the Saints +3.5. Start up three team 7 point teaser with the Saints -2.5, two open for the moment. Closing a three team par (for more) with.... NE -5. All week I have been hating the spread in this game. Now, it seems that with Brady and a couple of his team mates being questionable, the line has dropped to 5.5 or even 5. I get my Patriots (AT HOME) in NASTY weather, good chance of rain throughout, with winds 13 to 16 mph, bringing the temperature (with the wind chill) to right around FREEZING. Hell this may actually favor Dallas and their running game...BUT, I'm going with the Super Bowl champs who find themselves needing to win basically from here on out. I don't see Balt losing any more game this season. Patriots MUST HAVE home field throughout the playoffs or their in big ol' trouble. We will see. Trying now to decide how much of a Hedge play I will have on Dallas, but rest assured it will be somewhat significant. I like Balt on Monday, but I will look at that more closely tomorrow. NHL: Closed two (three team pars) on the ice last night...results were not kind. TGFH. I end up a bit to the good, but can't deny, I left some good coin on the ice last night. For today NHL: Start up three team par with: Bruins -240, EDM -125, one open. Another start up par, this one will be a 5 team "flyer" (for way less) with: CAR -160, NYI -135, COL+1.5 PL -240, AZ -115, STL -140. If I get all of these to come tonight it will be a minor miracle, that said, I am almost getting 12 to 1 on this thing, so there's that. GL today/tonight. NFL: I have no strong feelings about this game tonight, so it's a pass for me. For those who are playing...GL.

@WalterAnAsIdiot I've done fairly well since I discovered WalterFootball.com 7 years ago. I'm so pissed though...I really wish I'd kept a spreadsheet log of my bets. Most were with a local bookie so it's not like I can retrieve data...Anyway, I don't feel like adding them up, so I have no idea if Walter has done well with there or not, but I've lost a LOT of money on his Mega-Uber-Super-Duper Picks of the Month! :-(

@chuckster Sure everybody misses picks. Walt has missed picks before and never received this much venom. But when your emotions (mainly sheer stubbornness and stupidity and an unwillingness to admit you’re wrong) start messing with your picks, and it’s so evident that everybody can see, then, yes, you are going to get roasted. Hopefully Walt can swallow his pride and use this as a learning experience. The arrogant, know it all who thumbs his nose up at everybody needs to go. Hey, I tried to help. He didn’t listen. NFL: Lost two pars, but have one (for more)three team hedge par ongoing...Thank you Ravens and Patriots, one to go. I also picked up a four team 13 point teaser and have another one ongoing, with the latest pick KC +8.5 tonight. NHL: Start up three team par with: Caps -220, Coyotes -180, one open. NFL: Two pars down, one ongoing. In that ongoing par (for more,) going in the second tier spot will be the Pats -4.5, one open. I have two teasers ongoing both now with Eagles +17.5 points, one of these teases is actually closing with the Eagles +17.5. I'm also doing a small straight play hedge with the Eagles at +4.5. Hey folks. NFL for today: In an ongoing three team par, closing this up with Houston +4. I have this game hedged (sort of,) with Balt +9 in a ongoing 13 point teaser and a start up three team par with Balt -4, two open at the moment. Start up three team par with: TB +6, NE -4, one open. Have this par hedged as well (sort of..again,) with the Saints teased to +7.5 in a start up 4 team 13 pointer. I have no apprehension in saying that my two major picks are from Walters posts, Houston and Tampa Bay.) Walter has been VERY good this year and his high unit plays in particular have been Outstanding. I got to say however, his Multiple unit play on a 2-7 vs. 1-8 matchup is Bizarre. Not in his choice/pick, but in his money management (units) in this game. But Hell, that's just me being overly money management conscious I guess. As we go forward through today, I will be looking at KC and AZ very hard in playing them in a big pointed teaser. GL to all this NFL weekend. Let's get 'em gang!!

Watched bits and pieces of the game last night and quickly decided, I was almost watching a semi pro game,...Especially when the Steelers had the ball. Yikes. If it wasn't the Pitt offensive line being a sieve, it was the Pitt QB taking FOREVER to throw the ball!! After watching four different offensive series by Pitt with this Off/line and this QB seemingly Double Pumping on EVERY pass attempt, I said, "No Mas." NHL: Got my three team par closing pick to come in last night...thank you TB -1.5 PL. I lose a open five team open flyer par going 3-1 Colorado +1.5 PL let me down. For today NHL: Start up 5 team flyer par (for way less) with: Caps -165, Blues -115, Bruins +1.5 PL -240, Flyers -140, one open. GLTA tonight.

....Lamar Jackson is the best thing since Coke Cola?? Really??? Hey folks remember Mike Vic?? You know the guy that was going to transform the QB position for ever?? How about a little more recent...remember RG3?? Yea, HE was the new prototype QB for the NFL. Right?? Here it is gang...IF Jackson continues to have PLANNED QB runs AND continues to not "sit down" after said runs, well, start the clock on his health meter. Just a matter of time. As far as comparing this guy with Rogers or Brady (at this point) is just RIDICULOUS. IF and it might be a big if, Harborough can coach him and his wild running style Down, there is of course future promise for this kid. Let's not get crazy here on QB s that challenge pro defenses with their running...Sooner or later (unless it's Severely modified) these type of QB "run warriors" always "pay the price."

...Ended up not playing a whole lot of NFL last week, but what I did, I won. I have an ongoing three team par (for more) with AZ +4.5 and Pitt +4 both coming in for me, one open. I absolutely loved these match-ups after reading Walters write up on them. I also, as a luke warm hedge on this par, took out a 4 team 13 point teaser and was rewarded with TB +8.5 and LAR +8.5 coming through, two open. Congrats to winners and GL today/tonight. I have one NHL play: closing one of my three team par with: the Caps -175, hedging for 15 percent on the comeback. i would like to take the Niners tonight, but if I can't get 5.5 (like Walter did) I might have to let this one go, we will see.

@chuckster wow. Wishing a guy gets hurt just so you can say you were right. How lame. Well guess what di- do brain? Vick was at the top of his game playing at a MVP level when he got suspended for two years. It was suspension, not injury that did him in. Much like Ali, he was unable to compete during his prime years and wasn’t the same when he came back. Cam Newton won an MVP and got to a Super Bowl playing the same style as Lamar. If he can win an MVP and get to a Super Bowl, which considering he’s in his first full year as a starter is very possible, I think the Ravens will take it. Let go of your boss and actually do your homework.

Got them all, (sports picks) yesterday. Doesn't happen often, but still pretty cool. NFL: Got the Raiders +7 earlier to come in and close a teaser play. Start up three team par with: AZ +4.5, PITT +4, one open . Start up 4 team 13 pointer with: TB +8.5, three open at the moment...more to come as we go along. NBA: Closing a teaser with Bucks at Pick. NHL: Way more to come but closing a flyer four team par with the Rangers +105, hedging for 20 percent on the comeback. Start up par with VAN-155, two open. More to come as we go along. Good and Bad yesterday across sports. Still perfect on CBB teaser plays, however NBA is starting to rear it's ugly head again. I have posted hardwood results/picks on Walts NBA picks site. NHL: (smh)... Of course it would be the Bruins losing SU to Det yesterday......At least I hedged and I got the Oilers back on track, (at least for one game.) For today: I have TWO ongoing NHL pars that need second tier filling, today that will be NYI -110 in one and Montreal -200 in the other. A start up "flyer" 4 team par (for way less) with: Caps -120, Pitt -220, Blues +1.5 PL -200, one open. GL to all today/tonight.

CBB for today: Start up three team eight pointn teaser (for more) with: KY -21.5, KS -7.5, Duke either at - 16.5, -16, -15.5. Currently Duke is at -16 (teased) and I'm looking for a half point line before I play them. Another: (for less) NC -14.5, Memphis -11.5, one open. NBA: Got a teaser to come in last night, thank you Boston, LAC and the Spurs. Start up teaser today (for less) with:Indy plus a half, ATL +10.5, MN -3.5. Another: (or more) with: Dallas -3.5, LAL minus a half and TOR (+/?) waiting again to see if I can get a half point straight line before I play the Raptors..again either way I'm playing them. NHL: Already talked about last nights Islander debacle, I also picked up a start up win with the Caps, two open there still. @chuckster That was silly Chuckster. As someone who had under 6. The 3-0 scoreline looked great. NYI had won 10 straight, in their building an elite defensive team, With the lead they had no reason to go score just play sound fundamental hockey. I thought it would be terrible if PIT scored twice and an empty net goal gave me a push. Apparently there was a worse scenario. 1 0

Good enough results across sports yesterday. CBB: I get both closing teaser plays to come in, giving me a sweep so far of my college basketball plays...we all know that's not going to last. NHL: Blues, came in rather easily and I'm going to fill the second tier spot of this par today with: NYI -105, one open. A start up par with the Caps +1.5 PL -245, two open. NBA: The Timber wolves decided not to play ANY defense last night and they cost me a teaser win. NBA for tonight: Start up three team eight pointer with: Boston plus a half, Clippers +2.5, Spurs +3.5. NFL: Waiting...more like hoping, that the line tonight can go to 1.5, which would make an ongoing teaser of mine a lot easier to play on the Raiders. We will see. GL to all today/tonight.

...Just got back in Dixie a day ago and have had to work on different things outside of our "friendly" post site. I (like many others) did not have a good weekend in NFL. I had four top plays starting with the past Thursday night Niners game and had to keep redoing my par after each loss. Finally after the Patriot loss Sunday night, I said "No Mas" even with my fourth pick (Giants) looming for Monday night. I ended up with three par loses (hedged) but again like most folks it was probably my worst NFL week of the regular season. NCAAB:(Not posted) but surprisingly, I get two (three team)eight point teaser plays to come in last night with two more ongoing. Those two will be closed with NC(-2) and (VIR -5.) I'm waiting to see if I can get to a half point line on either game, but regardless of that, I will be playing them. Back later with some NHL, if I see something that I like. Glad to be back on site, everybody have a great Wednesday.

NHL; There are no words to describe the frikin meltdown by the Vegas Knights last night at, ...wait for it.... at Home. Hedged this game because, so far, the Knights have been a shell of themselves from the previous season. Dusting myself off and back at it today...sort of. The ice and the hard boards were not generous last night. NHL still early going but as always, parity is again strong this season. NBA: I lose one teaser with a TIE...Yes, ties are considered loses in higher teaser play, ain't right but what can you do?? I do get one teaser to continue with the Spurs win last night. ...Yesterday NHL: Well I got "tricked" (not treated) on two Home OT loses last night. But still managed to pick up a little plus coin on some hedging. The Nash loss was a joke, 4-1 Preds going into the third period...really??? NFL: Got my most important play to come in with a closing teaser with Niners -1. I lose my start up par with them (Niners) but hedged that as well so not a real big deal there. For tonight: NHL: Start up 4 team par (for way less) with CAR-270, COLO -140, VAN -110, one open. For tonight NFL: Closing a two team 7 point teaser (for more) with Niners -1. I also have a start up three team par with the Niners -9.5, GB -3 -115 and NE -3.5. If I'm lucky enough to get to the Sunday night game, I will be hedging a decent amount on the comeback. NHL: In an ongoing three team par closing with NASH -155, hedging for 20 percent on the comeback. A start up three team par with the Knights -230, two open. GL tonight everybody.

@chuckster I wanted to and still may take VAN tonight even with the back up goalie confirmed. Did not like the soft goals the starter allowed to WAS helping WAS erase a 5-1 deficit so this may be better. VAN backup 2-1 and the one loss was 1-0 and FLA is on a b2b (this is me trying to talk myself into it)... 4 1

...NFL: Got em all...except I didn't, let me explain. This will make the 5th or is it the 6th time, that I had my lone three team par win on Sunday, only to lose one of the three ATS. I was once told, that if you can pick the winner (SU) in the NFL, the spread/line only comes into play 8 percent of the time. I no longer believe that at all, it has been my experience that percentage should be around 20 percent. Argg. Frustrating.... but another winning NFL coin day for me as I get both of my (for more) teaser plays to come in. Congrats to winners, I as well want nothing to do with a Steelers -14 point line tonight. GLTA today/tonight.

...NFL: I knew for the last few days that the Pats game was going to be played in the rain. Only chance I give the Browns today is to Run, Run and then run some more and hope for a couple of NE turnovers. IF NE defense has one Achilles Heel it would be their run defense. Somebody please tell me that the Vikings had a God awful, OFF night last night. First time seeing them and all I have been hearing about is this frickin great team with an awesome defense and the quarterback with the best passing rating so far this year. Sure did not see a lot of that last night. If Keenum doesn't get knocked out, could the Vikings have lost last night....as a 17 point favorite??!! Anyway I had the Vikings teased to -5.5 and I left the game early in the third quarter...can't stand to see "supposedly" good teams AT HOME, play like crap. Anybody want to way in here and care to explain??

@chuckster Let's play an IF game... If I told you WAS would have scored 9 points over the past 2 weeks, how many point spread covers would you say they have? It would not have been 2! In fact teams that score 10 points or less this year are 2-20ats. WAS has both covers... If i told you MIN would NOT punt the whole game how much would you have put on MIN, MIN TT Over ect. Teams that don’t punt in an NFL game historically score around 40 ppg, MIN didn’t get to 20... If I told you there would be a total of 2 punts in the game, how much would you have put on the Over? The games stayed 2 full TD’s Under... It was one of those games.

NHL: Still treading lightly on the ice so far this season. The contenders and the pretenders are still going through their mechanics of the whole thing and let's not forget about the Goaltenders, who can flip a game on it's ear in a heartbeat. That said, a five team par (for way less) with MONT -135, St. LOUIS -180, BUFF -120, NASH -175 and DALLAS -155. Yea I know, a real long shot...but it's going off at almost 12 to 1, so at least there's that. GL tonight everybody. Yesterday NHL: Lost two pars that were so low wagered, I'd be embarrassed to tell ya'll. Been looking at so much early lined football for week 8, I almost don't have anytime for the NHL tonight...we will see. NFL: Got through with a plus 2.10 units for the NFL weekend, highlighted with the Patriots crush job last night. For this week (so far); Three team 10 pointer (For More) with: MN -5.5, Rams -2.5, Patriots -2.5. A start up two team 7 pointer (For WAY MORE) with: Patriots -5.5, one open. Indy has a skeleton crew on defense and high potent KCC offense scores 13. Off a bye? Colts win. They are always prepared. Philly? Fall behind 17-0 to terrible Washington, give Atlanta it’s only win, fall behind to Green Bay, Detroit, get whipped by Minnesota. Philly starts the DAL game with 2 turnovers. They were down doubles in every one of those games. It’s evident that Frank Reich was the brains of the Superbowl run.

NFL: Closing a two team 7 point teaser (for more) with Patriots -2.5. If I lose this one, I am going to be a very angry camper in Vermont on Monday night. Closing a two team 7 pointer with the Niners -2.5 (for more,) ditto my emotions for this game as well. Start up three team par with: Indy -1 -115 and waiting/hoping to see if Seattle can get down to -2.5 and I will play this up to -135, -140, if I have to, it's that important of a line change to me, one open. NFL: (Yesterday:) I can't really believe what I saw last night in this game. After the first quarter you could reasonably argue that the Lions could have been up 21-3!! Then for the next three quarters I would give the solid advantage to GB...sans the missed touchdown catches, the fumbles and perhaps the dagger for those who had PACK-3.5, the early fourth quarter "10 point turnaround." You know, the one where the GB receiver coughs up the ball, (STRAIGHT UP IN THE AIR)at the DET two yard line, for a gut wrenching, (at least for me,) PICK. Which turned into yet another of what seemed a Billion Lion field goals. Oh well, hedged it and the Packers had way to many drops, to many turnovers and stupid penalties in red zones to have any right winning this game...Somehow they did and I now have about 4 major coin games, where my choice team wins SU, yet I lose on the spread. ARGG. Anyway congrats to winners.

LOL. This is getting monotonous, WALTER Great job AGAIN!!! I am on the cusp of my biggest par win ever (if I let it ride and if ya'll know me, you know I wont) and the first three games in this par that I won, were all because of your prior write-ups/opinions. I have the Pack tonight at -3.5 -105 to try and close out this baby!! Thanks again WALTER!! Did not have a lot of plays this past NFL weekend, but what I did, turned out pretty darn good: I closed and won a three team 10 point teaser and (so far) the above mentioned ongoing 4 team par. Trying to figure out if this -3.5 can get to -4 before I make my hedge play on Detroit. I will wait for awhile and see. Congrats to winners and again Sir..."You the man."

@chuckster: NHL Yesterday: The Good: Closed and won a 5 team NHL par (for less,) with the Knights closing that baby out last night. The Weird/Good: So much going on, I somehow started up a New par with the Same Knights on a three team par, two open now. The Bad:, Seemed like all other pars I tried for the ice, started or middled badly. 3 lost pars there all hedged. For today NHL: closing that Knights -150 start up play with: Colorado +1.5 PL -230, EDM -105, if I can get to the Oilers game, I will of course be hedging. MLB: Start up four team par with: Nats -130 (today,) Astros -160 (tomorrow,) two open. GL to all. today/tonight. GO PACKERS!!!!

NFL: Start up 4 team par with: Texans +4, AZ +3 -115, Pitt +6, GB -3.5 -105. Start up three team 10 point teaser with Car/TB Over 37.5, DN/TN Under 50.5, ATL/AZ Over 42.5. I did not find any team that I was willing to close on with my two team seven point teaser, so it stays open until next week. GL to all. 2 1

NHL: Closed and won a three team par, thank you Carolina. I also got the other two hockey games to come in on a four team (for less) par, thank you ANA, BUFF, two open still. For today NHL: Closing the above mentioned 4 tm. par with: Nats -130 (MLB) and later Astros -151. A start up three team par with: CAR -200, VGK -145, one open. Looking (hoping) the Knights come out strong tonight in Las Vegas, we will see. Another start up three team par with: Bruins -210, Flyers +100, one open. Not sold on the Flyers by any means, but hope they come out with some extra go-go tonight since they are undefeated so far, again, we will see. A four team start up par (for less) with: EDM +1.5 PL -225, TB -265, Blues -115, COLO -155. Finally a 5 team par (for WAY LESS) with: WINN +1.5 PL -210, TOR -185, PITT +1.5PL -255, CAPS +1.5 PL -280, one open. I had the chance to play on the Panthers/Islanders game but to be honest, I just don't know what is going to happen in this one, I don't even feel good about using the 1.5 PL available to me, so I'm passing on the game entirely. I guess that's it...GL to all today/tonight.

@chuckster I was hoping the NYI would play better yesterday or even win so I could fade them today. Instead they look terrible and FLA loses in OT and my interest in a spot play is gone....... oh well 1 0

...My Knights (NHL,) seem to be in a funk, hope it's temporary. MLB: Well at least two of the presumptive favorites advance. I get the Astros -1.5 PL to come in last night in the second tier spot of a three team par. Closing this par tonight with CAR -175, hedging for 15 percent on the comeback. A start up 4 team par (for less) with: ANA +1.5 PL -225, BUFF +1.5 PL -250, two open. NBA: I believe that the start of regular season "tips off" at (yea, I know, real bad there,) October 16th. I plan UN-ashamedly to "Trail" Walter and TTS and any other veteran poster on this site, they have WAY MORE KNOWLEDGE on this sport than I do. GL to all today/tonight.

@chuckster Vegas is fine as long as Fleury stays healthy. Their backup goalie is not good and that’s part of the reason i took them under their point total. Goal is to make sure Fleury is ready to go come playoff time and as an aging goalie i thought they’d give him a little more extra rest during the regular season. 1 0

@Ravineman: Yea, I was always a believer in that....until this season. I have already lost two Significant straight plays on that "way to go thing" and one of them was a big play on the Chiefs (early line -6.5) and then watched the next 6 days where it finally ended up at -4.5 a little before kickoff. Yea, Chiefs win by.....5. Yes, I know WALTER..."it was a blowout." Anyway, I (especially this season) am more to the understanding of Walters s injury wait response thing in general. But Hey, what ever floats your boat. GL.

...MLB and NHL not real good yesterday....T.G.F.H. Today in MLB: Sticking the Astros -1.5 RL in the second tier spot of my start up par Flyers win last night...one open, small hedged of course. A start up three team par with the Blues -190 (will confirm that play as soon as we have starting goalie assurance,) Knights -135, one open. A four team par (for way less) with: ANA +1.5 PL -210, CAPS +1.5 PL -220, CHI -115, one open. That's about all for today, GL everybody.

@time to sign: Indeed they do, actually the last 2 weeks or so in the regular season, you could see a Huge push in their game outcomes. That said, I find it fantastic that you took the Nats in THIS series...Good job bud. I think however in your post you might have meant that you took the Nats at +115 to win the series. Surely they weren't favored in that series play...right?? Congrats bud and good luck going forward.

@chuckster I took WAS -115 to win series. it would not be responsible to just let STL ride even though I was already free rolling. Though if STL goes through than I'll really be free rolling. That said LAD being choke artists never scared me. But WAS all of a sudden in elimination games they are coming up with late inning heroics, pitching's been fine and it's fair to say Bryce who? They look scary.

@take 2 seconds to google it first: For the last several DECADES; schools, alumni and coaches (let's say top 30) have all been quietly adhering to the proposition of "let's get ours" and "looking the other way" when it came to the college players financial situation. The NCAA in its ARCHAIC treating of this has been deplorable. Why shouldn't across the board every athlete in college get a federal minimum wage for the HOURS they put in for practice and of course games??? Please oh please, don't tell me there is not enough money!! There is boat loads of TV money to go around. IMO, we start off by not giving Million dollar contracts to these head coaches, simply preposterous. We GO to and Watch the PLAYERS every Saturday, not the head coaches OR the alumni. Let's hope the NCAA can join the 21st century...Hell make that the 20 century and give these young men and women "a little something, something."

@WALTER: Read your write-up on PITT/LAC and you said you were looking for a "clean" 7 and then either lock in that 7 or maybe flirt with a P.O.M. As of this post (5:15 est.) I not only see a (clean) 7 at sports books, (I am guessing that means -110,) I am seeing +100s, +105s and this one place matchbook? I see (must be a mistake?) +116!! All others it seems have dropped to -6.5 line with a higher ML. Just wanted to tell you that, so maybe you could lock that baby in. GL Sir.

MLB: A start up three team par (.50 unit) with: Braves +1.5 RL -180...(Yes TTS, I am only to AWARE that the Bravos suspect bull pen might be the difference..lol. However, going to go with them to the end here.) LAD -167, (This one might be one for the ages, as both SPs are really really good.) Astros (Thursday) -255. Small hedges abound here...Go BRAVOS!! NHL: My Kniights disappointed last night, hedged those two closers, so was not a horrific hit. Start up 3 team par with: Buff -120, LAK +1.5PL -190, one open. ....First thing...to all haters of WF.com...Walter is KILLING IT this season and he indeed might have turned the corner on his last few seasons of mediocrity. Secondly, Wow, got to remember who my real deals and pretenders are on my NFL QB list. Forgot to reference that last night and lost a (for less) teaser. In MLB: I have an ongoing three team par and today sticking the Astros -245 in the second tier spot. NHL: Last night lost a (for way less) start up par when I go 1-1 in that parlay. ....About one or two times a season, I get "knocked down" on a 'significant" Home Chalk favorite. Well for me it was the Chiefs last night teased to minus a half. Yikes! It was my largest teaser play of the season with NE -5.5 (earlier,) with one open. I literally turned the game off midway through the third quarter and switched over to the Dodgers/Nats game on TBS. KC in its entirety "looked" like a complete shadow of its self. Of course, we all know of the problems of the defense: But that couldn't have been the ACTUAL KC offense last night....right??? SMH. Anyway another losing week, I go 2-3 in teaser play. The Falcons +18, my lone loss in a 5 team 14 pointer. Losing a +18 teased points (somehow) in the last 39 seconds of that game. AND.....THEY (the Falcons) HAD the Friggin ball and down by 15!!! Argg. Anyway time to start looking at week 6 and maybe just maybe, doing something with tonights football game. Congrats to winners.

NHL: Yesterday: I get two closing par wins to come in against one closing par loss (Hedged for a little plus coin,) also one start up first tier spot par loss. Had time to re-do a start up par with Calgary -205 when the earlier Caps game went down the tubes. I'm sticking the Lightning in the second tier spot of that one today with one open. Still considering the other few games on tap in NHL today. Back very shortly with some NFL.

...I have been told that I have to get these posts over with as Family visits are on tap today for the chuckster. So, NHL: I get a Hedge win off a closing par loss last night with Knights -1.5 PL, you just can't seed a NHL team a 4 to lead and expect to do much from there. My other par is just fine with a Maple Leaf and Knight win last night, closing this baby up with NASH -230, hedging for 10 percent on the comeback. For today NHL: start up three team par with: CAPS -115, CALG -182, one open. Another (for less) Blues -140, Colorado -165, Bruins -135. Another (for way less) NYR -130, Buff -115, EDM -155. Good night across sports again, so far, I can't complain, which is new to me especially in hockey. lol. MLB: Got both of my start up plays to come in on a three team open par. Closing this baby with the Astros today -1.5 RL -150, hedging for 15 percent on the comeback. I do lose my other par yesterday on the diamond, with the Dodgers looking pretty pathetic against Strasberg/Nationals. My bad there as I temporarily forgot that the Dodger battery only has really two hitters, that can do damage on the batting average side of things. Dodgers offense this year is all about Slugging and we all know that Slugging can and usually will have slumps, especially against prime opposition pitching. A start up par today with the Braves -115, two open. Going to a new post to do NHL. GL today everybody.

Now if I can only get SJ +1.5 PL to start playing at Home, so far it's Vegas 2-0 in the first. That's not altogether terrible, as I have Vegas going off at -120 in a second tier spot of another par tonight. Hoping for a Vegas 1 goal win...we will see. Again...Congrats TTS.

...MLB: Yesterday, I closed and won a 5 team par (for less)...still it was nice. I did lose with my Braves in a for way less start up par...Braves have the sticks, but middle relief and closing relief is going to be an ongoing problem...we will see. NHL: Closed and won my first ICE par of the season, thank you Lightning. Way more unexpected, was starting and closing a four team par (for less) as well, thank you CAR, NYR, Dallas +1.5 PL, AZ +1.5 PL. I do lose another start up par (for less) when the Friggin Penguins squash my attempt to go 100 percent of my ice plays yesterday. I go 2-1 in that one with COLO and NASH winning. I thought I started to see last season, with the Penguins just not trying hard enough in a lot of games. I hope I am wrong about this, cause there is no excuse for that kind of bull cr#p. @chuckster: One more comment on my Braves: Accuna is a fantastic talent, but already he is developing into a "me first" type of athlete. Accuna was caught again ( this has happened several times this year,) admiring a blast that he thought was gone...(bounced off the wall) and he ended up with a single. He is also been an occasional "loafer" defensively as well. Again, (in the old days) a veteran player would take this guy aside and read him the riot act. Those days with these HUGE contracts I guess are gone. Also in the old days "admiring" your "blast" at home plate was a pretty much given that you were going to "eat" some baseball somewhere in the very near future. Those days are almost gone. GL today.

...Yesterday across sports: I gotta say it was pretty darn good. NFL: I got the first tier of a two team 7 pointer to come in with Seattle +5.5. It was a good entertaining game, however, I have to agree with TTS on the coaching (especially Pete Carroll and company,) yikes, talk about NOT having a "feel" for the game you are watching!! Seattle could have put a real hurt on the Rams before the half, but a weird decision to try and draw an off sides and then a 48 yarder in a drippy cool night was puzzling. Worse yet was going to a mini "prevent" in the next minute and a half to allow Goff to bring it down to the Seattle 12 yard line. There on third down the Seahawks RUSH.....Wait For It...THREE lineman...Really?? Yikes!! Touchdown Easy. Goff has "all day" to scan the end-zone. As Walt said in his recap of this game, there were bad coaching (mostly Seattle) decisions all game. Congrats to winners, back soon with more stuff.

...Closing a 5 team MLB par (for way less) tonight with the Dodgers -168....Hedging just enough to cover the initial wagered coin on the par. NHL: Got my heavier wagered three team open par to come in with TOR, and Knights winning. I lose my for less par in OT with the Blues losing, I do win the other game in that par with VAN +1.5 PL. NFL: Start up two team 7 pointer with Seattle +5.5 and Steelers +10.5. Back later with some more NHL, possibly more MLB. GLTA today/tonight.

@BigDaddyVladdy: Agree with everything you posted to Ravineman. Also would like to add a couple of more ideas that I "look" at as well for lines. 1. The "general public" usually starts putting their coin down after work Friday night through early Sunday morning. Around 75 percent of these folks are going to play on the "chalk,"...(ie..the favorite.) This may or may not influence the line, I would think it would depend on the Amount of money being thrown down. 2. During this public wagering, (I have been told this by several folks (in the know:) IF the line is going to move at this point, there is about 3 to 1 odds that the line will go UP. I do not have any math or science to back up this assumption, other than, as I said before...various capers through the years have said this to me. Good luck going forward Sir.

@Ravineman: Totally agree with you on this particular subject. In fact I posted a little bit about this yesterday on site. Walter is a very good stats and personnel/team handicapper. Walt does his due-diligence in studying and getting informed on injuries and stats every week for EVERY team. It's been obvious to me for Several years now that Walt loves what he does, which makes him a lucky man. To nit pick a little (and why not, this is after all a sports site.) Walter spends WAY TO MUCH TIME "fretting" Over the "juice." IF he was a "dollar" player with a limited "bank," I guess you could make a argument over the 10, 15, or in some rare cases, 20 percent fluctuation in the vig of a particular game. But this is not the case for Walt, (in most cases.) Imo, Walt would be better served (in his already excellent capacity) to look for that elusive half point on/off key numbers that can make a great deal of difference($$$) in the long run of the NFL season. Walt has some math to back up what he does on this, but I believe most veteran solid cappers would think I'm correct here. As always Walter...continued great picking Sir!!

...First another shout out to our fearless site owner/poster Walter. Great job man and continued success!! Now, if we can only break this habit of yours on this Over Fascination with Money Lines...Especially when the point spread is involved. Anyway, yesterday saw two early NFL lines that I had to jump on immediately. The only problem was my personal "Chalk rules" came into effect and I had to put these two games in a three team 10 point teaser. "Mea culpa" to the straight spread Purists on site, lol. So, three team ten point teaser (For Way More) with: Patriots -5.5, Chiefs minus a half and one open.For you new players, this is a -110 "juice" proposition. GLTA today/tonight.

...Well week 4 ends up with my first net losing Thursday/Sunday/Monday "weekend." Normally, I would take a shot on Monday night for a little "catch-up," but these two teams, with these two QB s?? Nope. Yesterday was back and forth for me and the decider was going to be my last last 5 team 14 pointer with the Rams +4.5 and Dallas +11.5. The Rams looked disinterested and Yikes what happened to that supposed Great Ram defense?? In other plays, I lose my first 3 team 10 pointer when I lose the Under play (48.5) in the Denver game...I lose that play "late," with the clock running down to 0:00 with a field goal going through the uprights..(50.) There are no words, well there are, but Walt s security folks will not let me post them verbatim. My 10 pointers fall to 4-1. I do pick up a couple of teaser wins, but not enough for plus coin this week. Congrats to winners.

@chuckster: Two things real quick: 1. I did not realize this until last season s Superbowl, but QB Goff is a "stiff," and Walt is right any kind of pressure and he looks befuddled. 2. Goff s younger brother, QB Jackson so far, (again as Walt has posted) is far away from being a good starting QB in the NFL. I should be ashamed of myself on playing a teaser on him/Ravens yesterday. Shoot, I even put them in a 14 pointer and still got schnook-ed. lol. Again, congrats to winners.

A start up three team 10 point (TOTAL) teaser with LAC/Miami Under 54.5, MN/CHC Under 48.5, JAC/DN Under 48.5. A start up 5 team 14 pointer with: Giants +11.5, SEA +8.5, Dallas +11.5, Rams +4.5 Indy +7.5. Another start up 5 team 14 pointer (for less) with: MN +15.5, JAC +16.5 LAC minus a half, HOU (?) BALT (?)...Waiting for those last two, to maybe get on a half point straight line for me before teasing them, either way, I will be taking both of those teams. Finally, (for laughs) a 3 team Pleaser (for a ridiculous low amount) with TN -2.5, AZ minus a half and Monday night Cincy -2.5. @chuckster GB special teams and the Sack fumble which set the Eagles up deep in Packer territory didn't help but it's fair to wonder what this defense is. Against average to poor Qb's they looked great. Yesterday not so much. Could've also been a Thursday thing. GB offense got on track against Philly horrid secondary but 1st and goal from the 1 and GB throws it 4 straight times?? Not sure what that was about but as an Eagles fan/backer, i'll take it. I had three plays on last nights game and I come away with one closing win and one teaser play still going forward. I lose my (very small play) on my Pleaser attempt with Wash -2. I'll take that every time...For week 4 (so far:) Start up three team par with GB -5, KC -6.5 (man, is this spread early on bad karma for me or what,) one open. A start up three team 10 pointer with: LAC/MIAMI Under 54.5, MN/CHI Under 48.5 and JAC/DN Under 48.5. I think Philly is in major do-do Thursday night. We will see. GLTA.

...Okay, I might be a "junkie" for Monday night NFL. This game has all of the characteristics of a pig fest of a game, including some thunderstorms as a possibility. But I WANT to play..so, in an ongoing 4 team 13 pointer, Bears +7.5 AND Skins +18.5, one open. I also have a teaser closing tonight with the Under 51.5 in this contest. I know previously I have posted that my under total for this game was 52.5, that was incorrect, sorry. I also have a second tier play (For WAY Less) in a three team Pleaser with the Skins -2, with one open. GLTA. I would love to see this game final at 20-17 Washington. We will see.

KC/BALT game: Let's see here...23-6 at halftime Chiefs.....End of third quarter 30-13 chiefs, Balt outscores Chiefs 15-3 in the final quarter to kill my early pick of KC-6.5 in a start up three team par. To make matters worse, before kickoff, KC was -4.5 at my house. Yikes and Argg. Astoundingly, I am up so far tonight and am going to start up a 4 team 13 pointer with the Rams +8.5, three open at the moment. Got my biggest play of the day to come in with a two team teaser with GB and MN respectively. I go 1-1 in 5 team 14 pointers and have my lone 3 team 10 pointer ongoing with Ne -13 and DN/GB Under 53.5 coming in, closing with the Under 52.5 Bears/Skins tomorrow. A little while ago, I got lucky with TB missing a chip shot field goal at the gun and my three team 6 point PLEASER continues with the Skins -2 tomorrow, one open there. Well, you should've known the KCC play was dead the minute I jumped on.... Closed 4/4.5 everywhere, of course I lock in early like you at 5.5 and of course the game lands on 5.......

That said DEN/GB Under 43.5 locked in earlier in the week, closed 41.5 lands 43. DEN kicker missed extra point. GB kicker missed a field goal with a minute to go to preserve the under at 43.5 so at least that worked out!

@time to sign: A few years back I tried to "play" college football (for real, not my latter 5 team 14 point deals,) I found out that for me, there is just to many points going on to have a real decent shot long term in college ball. Your Wash St. story played out every other week for me, on both the chalk and dog side of things. I just decided to let go. I know you enjoy it a lot, so all I can give for advice is ..."Steady as you go" and my personal favorite and belief..."Bad Luck and Good Luck (long term) even themselves out." Sounds like (hopefully) you are "due"(?) in the near term. GL going forward man. GL today in the NFL!!

Two team 7 point teaser with: GB -1, MN -2. Three team 10 pointer with: NE -13, DN/GB Under 53.5, CHI/WASH Under 52.5. An ongoing 5 team 14 pointer closing with Dallas -6.5, Lions +19, Buffalo +8. I assume you are counting this season in your "stats" because of course, with such low early results this only helps your "hack job" on Walter. This begs the question.... WHY not TEN years?? OR in fact the last THIRTEEN years?? The 13 years would encompass all of Walters listed results....(see the top of this page.) I will tell you why "Mr. Slick"...(Not Really.) Because, if we count all of the listed results we will find that Walter is CONSIDERABLY AHEAD when the counting is done. "MR. @time to sign:: Agree 100 percent Sir. Several days ago, I put my lone start up NFL three par together with the Chiefs -6.5 (early game) with the Rams -2.5 -120 (late game,) one open. I am MYSTIFIED over the Public and the Sharps (?) bringing this line down to now -5.5, which is a Huge drop for those of us that know the MOV s. My basic take on this matchup is.... can the Ravens Keep Up with the Chiefs on the scoreboard?? I believe NO and will have to see it to believe it. I have the Chiefs winning this game from a low of 7 to a high of 13 or 14. We will see. I think there might be a weekend warrior bettor push and might see this game get back to -6.5 or maybe even -7... late. But good for you Sir getting KC under 6. GL going forward.

@RTORRES27: Hey bud, sure, ...My understanding of the five biggest MOV s are (in Descending order) ..3, 7, 4, 6, 1. Walt thinks that 6 should be in third place and then I guess 4, to each their own. If you throw in the mov # s of 10 and 14, you get a little more of 50 percent of all the margin of victory numbers for the NFL. I am Always cognizant of these seven numbers when I am breaking down games and ultimately picking games. 3 and 7 are individually and combined HUGE mov numbers in the NFL. @time to sign: Yes, absolutely remember your late quarter run in the NHL last season. The Blues run last season was what legends are made of. On the down side of things on the ice, I had a fairly big future wager on the Lightning very early in the season, to win the Stanley Cup and was really patting myself on the back for most of the season. Then the playoffs began...(see bewilderment and finally despair.) (Lol.) Anyway congrats on the Jags last night and the Total. I (right before the game) stuck the Jags +15.5 in a low coined ongoing 5 team 14 pointer and actually did not watch any of the game until the fourth quarter. Did not take long (of course,) to see that I was in high cotton...at least for this contest. GL going forward Sir with your college plays tomorrow.

@time to sign: hey bud, Yea, this DN/GB game was first one l chose im ny start up 3 team 10 point teaser (Under 53.5) Until things change for the Packers offense, Ia am looking at the Under in their games every single time. My second selection is another Under this time in the CHI/WASH game (52.5.) Again, until things Change for the Bears offense, along with their fairly stout Defense, I'm looking the Under every single time. What do you think of the Total in the 'Skins game?? I just closed this 3 team 10 pointer with NE -13 and kicking myself a little bit in not waiting for a half point line...(my place has 22.5 at the moment,) but i still feel very confident with a full two touchdown margin for the Pats...at te very least. ....smh AND lol. So, I lose yet another teaser (week 2) with Jets +16.5 (very early choice) then my starting QB gets "sick," taking the line up a whopping 4 points that would have been in my favor at Jets +20.5. You see where I'm going with this.... right?? Okay, I did not see one moment of this game, but found out just a minute ago "about" the game, on a recap sight. The second string QB for the Jets gets wiped out right before the half and I am still barely covering with my 16.5. Final score, 23 to 3 Browns, and SO GLAD , I did not watch that sucker, because.... IF I had (somehow/someway) waited on that contest, I would have covered this pig-fest of a game with my +20.5 teased points. Sometimes, the "Gods" have fun with the "puny humans." I go 4-1 in each of my three losing teasers. Two of these due to QB's getting sick or wiped out during the games,.... "Alrighty then," ...Onward to week 3. lol. Gl to everybody and glad to see all the regulars/veterans back in house/site.

Yea, we got a potential of a real pig-fest of a game tonight with the loud speaking, under-performing Browns, on the road against the beat up, (real beat up) Jets. That said, laying 6.5 on the road with the Browns SU and ats historical record, seems like to much. I played the Jets in a big teaser, before the Jets QB illness hit the media. Trying to close up a small wagered 5 team 14 pointer tonight with the Jets +16.5....Is it a little sad to say, that I'm a little worried about the Home team plus 16.5??....Yikes!! Most of the lines came up for me about 15 minutes ago for week 3. Two games just popped for me.....KC at Home -6.5, yes please and Rams -2.5 at Cleveland with Cleveland on a short week?? @Walt: Nice hit on your replay of your P.O.M. Thought that gam stood out among the others this week as well...(closed a three team par with them. Always nice to see another who is putting substantial coin on the same choice. So far I have won and lost about the same number of plays today, the difference being the Par win of course. I have the Falcons +15.5 tonight and then..(Gulp) the Jets +16.5 on Monday. If I can get those two to come in I will have gone 2-2 in my 5 team 14 pointers. I went 4-1 in both of the lost teasers...Cincy +12.5 in one (WTF?) and the Saints +16.5 in the other...I think I can reasonably say that if Brees doesn't get hurt I would be 3-1 in big teaser play going into tonight s (and tomorrows) game. Hope most did well, I go plus coin for the Thursday/Sunday/Monday regardless of the next two games out come. On Totals I get a both of my Under plays to come in as well. I also go 100 percent on my 3 team 10 pointers,...Surprising, for me. GL going forward folks.

@time to sign: Spot on Sir. Kinda agreed with BDV over the whole ("hold your nose") on this game post and congracts to him on the "doggie.". That said, I think any teaser that got the Panthers under 3 was a good play. Good coaches can keep you in just about any game, bad/sub par coaches can ruin any chalk on any given day....(jmo.) I did not like this game several days ago and since I have decided to play every single game this regular season, I stuck the Panthers in a 5 team 14 point teaser giving them +7.5. These plays are normally for way less for me and more about just having "action" on the game, rather than having a clear opinion on a side. GLTA going forward.

@chuckster Yeah, I can't bring myself to burn NE so early in Survivor. I'm liking the Chiefs SU as a near-lock. Feels like a flat spot for the Raiders...they could really be walking into a buzzsaw against Mahomes. The Chiefs have owned the Raiders in recent years. I just really hate two things in the NFL: Players who have been payed and still really don't want to play...And Pro coaches who can't seem to get over the "deer in the headlights" reactions in Crunch Time. @time to sign: Yes you are right on O'Brien (Texans.) he is on my Big list of so-so to bad coaches in the NFL. To be totally honest, my list for good to excellent coaches in the NFL ...is a short one. BB of course, the Walrus in KC and the Eagles head coach, although I'd be lying if I said I was happy with their defensive structure in the last 2:30 of the fourth quarter on last Sundays game. Anyway, speaking of "questionable" defensive structures...What about Houston s "genius" three man rush on Brees with 9 seconds to go and the Saints desperately needing 8 or nine yards to have ANY hope of a game winning field goal. I have stated this so many times over the last 15 years in the NFL....You have a Top Tier QB and rush three?? Try it..... and 95 percent of the time, "see what you see!!!" RIDICULOUS. @time to sign: Two excellent write ups bud and you can be sure I made a few notes as I was reading them. So many over reaches (spread wise) so far in week two, I would caution new players to do the homework (as you do) and STUDY before laying down good coin simply on "final scores." Walt had a so-so week and your right, if Foles doesn't get hammered and leaves, could very well have been a LOT closer outcome. Also, YES. how KC player does not get flagged for that hit on Foles, is somewhat of a mystery. Walt has not (as of this post) put down his thoughst on Cincy yet, but I am very interested in the Bengals at -1.5 (at home.) We will see..possible third spot selection for my ongoing three team par. Not good and not bad results yesterday, I say that, because of start up teaser hedges and a three team par that is still ongoing along with a Pleaser play (who would think it?) that middle spot has Denver -5 tonight, with one open still to go. Final results yesterday saw my "bigger" 5 team 14 pt. teaser going 4-1 (of course) with the frikinn Browns +8.5 reverting back to the same ol same ol. I do get (of course) my for-less 5 teamer to come in. I also have a for less three team par still ongoing with KC and Patriots doing their thing, one open there. Ditto a three team 10 pointer, one open there as well. I lose my favorite par with Eagles -9 (lost that cover leading by 12 with 3 minutes to go in the game and thankfully right after that debackle (in the same par) Seattle -9.5 who had so much more trouble with Cincy than I thought they would, it took all of my anger off the Eagles back-doored spread loss. Trying to decide on what I'm doing with the Saints/Texans game tonight...Possibly a start up 5 team 14 pointer with Saints teased to +7.5 and the Texans +20.5...sounds about right, I'll do that. GL tonight folks!! Also..Go Broncos-5 in the middle spot of that Pleaser!!

@chuckster That new high up tempo offense looks atrocious. They fumbled the ball 3x in the first half. If they don't meet expectations this year, is it not time to move on I was on under and because of OT it became a huge sweat. 28 points in regulation, 17 in ot almost ruined under 48. NCAA today: I am not near the fan/player with college play, as I am with the NFL...so be pre-warned...lol. 1-1 in 5 team 14 point teasers (-120) so far this season in college ball. @time to sign: Yea it happens, but the thing that drives me up the wall more than anything, is the NEED to win scenario. Astros have been a lock for the playoffs for about 2 months now and the Athletics have been in a dog fight for over a month now with two other teams to garnish the 2 AL wild card spots. Just an awful showing last night and this could be the very game that the Athletics look back on and "mark" as why they lost a wild card birth. Personally, I'm still rooting for them, but Jeez that was ridiculous last night.

Also this game with Rodgers and Tributosky, I believe getting ZERO preseason work in and going against a Known excellent Bear defense and a future noted uptake (told by various football publications) on the GB defense. Just screamed Under in this game and I (unfortunately) did not take full advantage...see "scared money never wins." Argg. ...Kicking myself for not playing the straight Under in last nights game either in a straight play or a start up par choice. I will have to settle for first spot wins in a big ol teaser and a start up win in a three team 10 pointer. Both coaches have a lot more road to walk to fill bills or the Walruses shoes. In last nights final GB offensive drive (on the Bear 30 with a first down, the Packers (coach) has two middle line run "bursts" dialed up for a no gain. Obviously going for the "safe play" field goal. Let's see, I have Aaron Rodgers as my QB on a significant late fourth quarter drive, that if they score a touchdown the game is Absolutely Over and you chose to take the ball out of your star QB s hands??!! That is exactly how road teams in tight games lose very late in the final quarter OR lose in OT, which looked like the game was heading in the Bears final drive. @time to sign: Maybe, but i think Bill is more about self induced personal problems with players (drugs, depression.) Those two idiots that left Pittsburgh were ...let's face it "ALL ABOUT THEMSELVES." I think you can make that case with these type players...EVEN AFTER they sign their impressive contracts. These type guys, I believe Bill would be thinking..Love to Have them, but if it Looks like a dead fish, Smells like a dead fish, real good chance .......It's a DEAD FISH. Bills favorite understated mantra is: "Do Your Job," also he is always looking for guys who are TEAM ORIENTED. GL going forward TTS.

@AI12: You mean the two or three great seasons Moss had with the Patriots??? Including I believe, the 16-0 season with two playoff wins to boot?? Moss was had/has? a dysfunctional "head" problem. Those TWO clowns that left Pittsburgh were a lot more like TO, who brought great athleticism and a ongoing Cancerous motif to any team he landed with. I'm all for any player getting his coin...although sitting out a full season in a temper tantrum OR (don't get me started...holding out on a two year left contract...see Elliot) imo is ridiculous.

...Sorry, had to get the below post in to clear my mind and lose about 30 points on my blood pressure....Whew!!! For tonights Pack/Bear game, I have no idea how this baby is going to play out side wise, but I was willing to take a "small shot" with them in a start up 5 team 14 pointer with the Packers teased to +17.5. Along with tonights game, I have Falcons +17.5, Browns +8.5 and the Chargers +7.5, with one open at the moment. I really like the UNDER in tonights game, so, a start up three team 10 point teaser with Packers/Bears Under 56.5. Along with this one, I have the Panthers teased to +12.5 (all because of Walts P.O.M.) with one open for the moment. I have more plays already in, but will get to those as we approach Sunday. GL tonight everyone!!!!

@Walter: It's that time again man, NFL, in all of it's glory and disdain!!! So far, I am digging the fact that you like the Eagles and the Seahawks, (my first two selections in my three team par play.) I hoping against hope that SOMEHOW you can find away to take the Pats at Home, ATS. against the Steelers Sunday night. Been a loyal follower of your football post site for ...God must be at least a decade now...longer?? Have enjoyed every minute of it and let me say this Sir, you have never been hesitant in any week of the season in putting out your P.O.M. and today is no exception. Anyway GL Sir and continued good fortune with the pigskin this season, you certainly had a great season this past NBA season!!! GLTA going forward.

Got OK (teased) to -9 to come in last night, that gives me my first winning play of the college football season. At the moment 1-1 for the season. For tonight 5 team 14 pointer with ND -4, NYJ +11, Rams +11, AZ +16.5, one open. I have more, but I will hold off posting at the moment.....things to do. GL everybody going forward. 1 0

@TTS: Great to see ya on site again, yea, I thought maybe you had left the Walt s NBA site to gather up some pre nfl info for the soon to be start off. Good luck to you Sir and look forward to all the great posts You and others will give to Walts site this nfl season. Yesterday (not posted) I go 4-1 in a opening 5 team 14 pointer...Michigan teased to -20.5 was the culprit in that one...Argg. However, in another 5 team 14 pointer(again not posted,) I have gone 4-0 so far and I await the Sooners teased to -9 tonight to get my first win of the college season. I also have started a start up 5 teamer with the Irish -4 (Monday) with at the moment 4 open. GL to all today/tonight!!

Cheers Chuckster. since you brought up Michigan: I was half joking to a friend when I said over/under a half until Michigan goes back to a methodical run first approach this football season. B/c the entire off-season all we kept hearing was Michigan new up-tempo offense looks great blah blah blah... Well I never saw no new up tempo offense, I thought the offense looked lethargic and out of synch for large stretches and they ran the ball all second half. I know they scored 40 but I mean they were laying 36, a number MTSU backers never sweated.

Another Big 10 team, Nebraska however was arguably worse. They beat South Alabama 35-21. The first problem with that is they were laying 36 so they didn’t score enough points. Don’t let the 35 fool you. NEB got a pick 6, sack fumble TD and a special teams TD. For the entire game: NEB offense just 276 yards, SA offense 314 yards. Yes, 36 point favourite NEB was out yarded by SA. NEB won the turnover battle by 2... Truthfully for large stretches SA looked like the better team. I had serious concerns with this NEB team before the season and they are a one way team for me: bet against or stay away.

There were 2 horrific beats in Northwestern +6.5, down 3 with the ball 20 seconds to go, a sack fumble in the end zone leads to Stanford covering. And what about Oregon +4 blowing a big lead to Auburn and not only losing but not covering. Another disappointment for the Pac 12. I have no words for how Tennessee -24 lost SU to Georgia State 38-30? Or how Iowa State needed 3 OT’s to beat Northern Iowa?

End on a positive: Give it up to the Mountain West. Hawaii +11 beats Arizona SU, Boise State +6 rallies to beat FSU, Nevada +11 beat Purdue SU and Wyoming +15.5 beat Missouri SU (Would’ve been one amazing ml parlay). And Fresno State did not win but they did get the money yesterday against USC, same for Utah State +5 who lost but covered. And have to end with San Diego State winning 6-0 (not a typo) against Weber State. The game saw 390 yards of total offense the entire night. You may get that in the 1^st quarter of tonight’s Oklahoma game.
