Round 1
With Porter going the pick before Pittsburgh, they grab a riskier but viable alternative in Deonte Banks. While this could jsut as easily be an O-lineman like Darnell Wright or even a D-lineman, secondary is such a major need I think they need to service it.
While some big names like Robinson to the Lions at pick 6, that just seems insanely early to me. It's not a need at all! But with LB and DT holes they can fill later, it feels reasonable to suspect they could go for a luxury pick and take the most talented player in the whole draft. Bijan Robinson deserves to go in the top 10 but positional value will see him drop.
Wright is getting a lot of top 10 buzz and I could easily see five tackles off the board in the top 14, but Wright is for me the fifth guy and he doesn't suit most of the recent teams. He does fill a massive need a Buccs team that has so many holes, but could benefit most from an improved O-line.
It's likely four receivers go in the top 10, but where is anyone's guess. Flowers is for me the fourth best option but he's turned into the consensus WR2 in this class and I'm not one to argue. As a strong slot-receivers who can also play outside, he seems like a solid WR3 option for the Seahawks, with an eye on eventually taking over from Tyler Lockett.
The Chargers just cannot stop the run meaning DT and LB are massive needs. LInebacker is a classic Day 2/3 pick so it would make sense to take a D-lineman on Day 1. Calijah Kancey is an elite interior rusher and while I don't think he's the run-stuffer the Chargers need, he's a great piece that could strengthen this line and give them something to build around. I could also see this being Bryan Bresee or Mazi Smith instead.
Yes, the Ravens signed Odell Beckham Jr. No, he isn't the solution to their pass-catching issues. Lamar Jackson needs a lot more help as Devin Duverney isn't good enough to be a starting receiver in the NFL, let along a WR1. That Demarcus Robinson took over that WR1 role last year is just depressing. Jordan Addison is the type of player the Ravens love. A fast, shifty player who runs great routes both from the slot and out wide.
I find it hard to believe Brian Branch doesn't get taken in the 1st round but it's very hard to slot him in. I think the Packers, Commanders, Steelers and Chargers are all viable options but I've gone with the Vikings even though they grabbed Lewis Cine last year.
Kelee Ringo has had an insane amount of combine and private interviews. It's really hard to see him dropping out of the first round, even if only five cornerbacks go on day 1 (and I do think that'd be low). The Jaguars have been very open about their deserve to improve their secondary and while that could be a smokescreen, it seems legit, especially given few teams around them share that need.
I love Quentin Johnson, he's my favourite receiver prospect by far. He's big, he's fast and he's awesome after the catch. I do fear his seperation issues may be exacerbated in the NFL though, and his hands can be a little wooden sometimes. Having said that, the Giants badly need outside receiver help as I don't think Isaiah Hodgins or Parris Campbell is the answer long-term.
Will the Cowboys really move forward with Jake Ferguson and Peyton Hendershot as their tight ends? They've been looking more interested in wide receivers based on their draft visits but I think they have to go tight end. Michael Meyer is the bookies favorite to go first and while I see the upside, his blocking isn't a good as Dalton Kincaid an
The Bills have a major need at linebacker and while this could easily be a receiver or an O-lineman like O'Cyrus Torrence, I'm thinking Sanders makes the most sense. While Jack Campbell is my preferred prospect, Sanders is generally considered more likely to go off the board first.
I love Dalton Kincaid. He's got great hands, he's an elite blocker, he's fast, he's epic down the seem and in the red zone, he's a great prospect. Sadly for him, this tight end class is super strong with five guys who could easily be a first round pick in another year. That will likely mean they all drop. Kincaid is good enough to go as early as the Packers at 15 but I think Cowboys and Bengals will be the first to snap one up, with the rest to follow early in the second round. The Bengals have an injury-prone Irv Smith and no-one else of note. They will bring someone in, but whom, and when?
I find it very hard to believe Myles Murphy will make it this far, but there's very little pass rush need among the top teams. That is, after all, how they become top teams. The Saints need to grab some D-line help and while that could be interior on the edge, I expect them to come away with 2-3 defensive linemen to rebuild an ugly front.
The Eagles don't have many gaping needs, but Isaac Seumalo leaves a huge hole at guard. O'Cyrus Torrence is a natural fill, though there are many others who could take this spot, including the likes of Paris Johnson and Peter Skoronski with the Eagles' first pick.
For a Super Bowls winning team, the Chiefs have a huge list of needs. Receiver, defensive line, secondary and running back could all use some help, but their most important asset is Patrick Mahomes so it makes sense to give him some help, as Jawaan Taylor really isn't that good. I don't love Anton Harrison either, I'd prefer Tyler Steen, but Harrison seems to be the consensus option here so I'll let smarter heads dictate.
