Round 1

Picks 17-31
17. Steelers: Joey Porter Jr., CB, Penn State

The Steelers would love an offensive tackle, but with the top 3 off the board already, they turn to their next biggest need at corner. Porter has a special size-speed combo and elite ball skills, plus, it would be fun to see him suit up for his Dad's former team.

18. Lions: Drew Sanders, LB, Arkansas

I'd be pretty surprised if Detroit doesn't double dip on defense, where they need help everywhere. Sanders is a freakish athlete with sideline to sideline capabilities and pass rushing prowess. Pairing him up with Malcolm Rodriguez would give the Lions a strong young linebacker duo.

19. Buccaneers: Jakorian Bennett, CB, Maryland

THIS PICK IS DEONTE BANKS.
For some reason Deonte Banks isn't in the WalterFootball database so I'll have to use his Maryland teammate as a placeholder. Regardless, the Bucs are about to enter a full-scale rebuild and corners Sean Murphy-Bunting and Jamel Dean are both free agents. Banks is flying up draft boards and could instantly start alongside Carlton Davis.

20. Giants: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Ohio State

TRADE - Brian Daboll deserves a ton of credit for making the Giants offense look functional with Daniel Jones throwing to Isaiah Hodgins and Darius Slayton. This offense needs some more weapons and Smith-Njigba can provide a solid option. He's not a freak athlete and has been prone to injuries, but he has very steady hands and is a refined route runner. The Giants jump a couple of receiver-needy teams and get their guy.

21. Chargers: Jordan Addison, WR, USC

The Chargers receiver room was once thought to be a strength, but with Keenan Allen growing in age and getting injured more often, he's emerged as a cut candidate. Addison is a polished route runner who could provide a security blanket for Justin Herbert as a perfect compliment to Mike Williams.

22. Ravens: Quentin Johnston, WR, TCU

The Lamar Jackson situation is weird but regardless of what happens at QB, the Ravens receiver room needs massive upgrades. Rashod Bateman (who is always injured) and Devin Duvernay simply can't be your best options. Baltimore can turn to Quentin Johnston, a size-speed freak who was a huge part of TCU's championship game run. At 6'4" he can provide a steady and reliable target to help Lamar and the passing game.

23. Vikings: Brian Branch, S, Alabama

The Vikings secondary was swiss cheese this season and despite multiple early round investments in the corner room over the years, they need to go back to the well again. Luckily, Branch is possibly a top 5 player in this class who can play either safety position or the nickel at an elite level.

24. Jaguars: Luke Musgrave, TE, Oregon State

Evan Engram broke out last season but he's a free agent. Even if he were to re-sign, he's more of a big slot than a true tight end. Musgrave is a good pass catcher but an equally solid blocker and could be deployed alongside Engram. This pick would allow the Jags to continue to build the weapons at Trevor Lawrence's disposal while also allowing them to view Engram as expendable if they wish to spend that money elsewhere.

25. Seahawks: Lukas Van Ness, DE, Iowa

TRADE - Despite taking Tyree Wilson earlier in the draft, Seattle double dips with another versatile but unpolished pass rusher. Van Ness has freaky size-speed traits, and will surely test well at the Combine. That should be enough for Pete Carroll, who said the Seattle front 7's futility "kept him up at night," to take a chance on him.

26. Cowboys: Jalin Hyatt, WR, Tennessee

The Cowboys offense missed Amari Cooper in a big way last season. Hyatt was prolific at Tennessee and despite needing some refinement in his route running, has already proven he can be an elite deep threat. He should take the top off the defense in a way Michael Gallup failed to last season.

27. Bills: O'Cyrus Torrence, G, Florida

The Bills O-line got dominated by the Bengals and Rodger Saffold is 34. Torrence is the best interior O-lineman in this class and would be an instant starter on Buffalo's line. This isn't a sexy pick but it would be a very solid one for the Bills.

28. Bengals: Calijah Kancey, DT, Pittsburgh

The Bengals could use some more juice on their interior D-Line and although Kancey is undersized, he actually profiles very similarly to former Pitt alum Aaron Donald. While he obviously isn't Donald, he is still a very solid pass rusher who can provide a spark in the middle.

29. Saints: Will McDonald, DE, Iowa State

The Saints are going to be in need of edge help when Marcus Davenport presumably departs in free agency. McDonald was inconsistent at Iowa State but possesses clear pass rush upside and performed well at the Senior Bowl.

30. Eagles: Bryan Bresee, DT, Clemson

The Eagles struggled to get pass rush against the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Granted, that's a very good offensive line, but Fletcher Cox is aging and Howie Roseman loves to address needs before they become needs. Bresee has fallen down boards due to inconsistent play and injury issues, but the upside that once made him a top recruit in the country is still there. Bresee and Jordan Davis could be a fearsome duo for years to come.

31. Chiefs: B.J. Ojulari, DE, LSU

Frank Clark had a solid Super Bowl but he's aging and overpaid. It'll be tough for the Chiefs to pass on the vision of Ojulari and George Karlaftis terrorizing QBs from either side of the line.
