Wow this year has sucked for the Bears.  Multiple young starters have regressed, not just Mitch.  Time to shake some things up.

1.  Let Heflich take over play calling.  Nagy has had some questionable play calling lately and as the head coach should be focused on more that just the offense.

2.  Put Trey Burton, Taylor Gabriel, and Ha Ha Clinton Dix on the trade block.  Burton to NE would be a nice fit.  San Fran should have some interest in Gabriel and everyone could use secondary help couldn't they.  If Dix isn't traded I would assume he will get a decent FA offer this off season and return a decent 2021 compensation pick.  Burton and Gabriel could probably each bring back a 5 or 6.

3.  Get Shaheen and Ridley on the field.  Even if they are not traded Burton and Gabriel have been very inconsistent.  Some of that is on Mitch's play and some on Nagy's play calling.

4. Cut Mike Davis.  This will hopefully result in the Bears qualifying for a comp pick they should receive for the loss of Callahan or Amos.

5. At the trade deadline ask Miami about Geisicki.  Ask Tampa about OJ Howard, his price might be to high for Chicago though.

6.  Offseason Cuts.  Bears are set to be around 13million this off season.  So to create space cut Kyle Long-saves about 8mil.  Mike Davis would create another 3 mil.

7.  FA.  There wont be a lot of money to spend.  With the most likely cuts I think the Bears will be around 24 million when the new league year starts.  They could cut Amukamara and clear another 8mil, Leonard Floyd would add another 13 mil, Braukneker another 1.5.  Target #1 Teddy Bridgewater.  If he can continue to stay healthy he would be a nice pick up for Chicago.  Trubisky is here at least one more year so go get a young guy that will give Mitch legit competition to start.  There will be a lot of teams after Bridgewater when FA opens up.  Other targets if no Bridgewater; Andrus Peat, Ashawn Robinson, Maxx Williams, Adam Gotsis, Reggie Ragland, Bud Dupree, and Trae Waynes.  Go get a couple of these guys plus bring back a few of your own like Nick WIlliams and Danny Trevathan.

8.  Draft.  No first hurts especially when your still looking for a franchise QB.  Second round QB possibilities Jake Fromm, Jamie Newman, maybe Jalen Hurts falls?  I think Newman is really being overlooked.  With the other second round pick I think the Bears can truly go BPA.  There are potential holes everywhere; TE, G, #2 receiver, #2rb, Dline depth, Olb, Ilb, Safety, boundry corner.

Keep looking for that QB until you know you have a franchise guy.  Chicago should be drafting one every year.  Next figure out why Roquan Smith and Eddie Jackson have regressed.  Figure out where Cohen's burst has gone.  Get a receiver to step up opposite Allen Robinson.
