2017-18 NFL Predictions, (team previews uploaded during publish) Published at 9/10/2017
|
The NFL season is upon us, and it's time for a preview team by team with predictions.
NFC East
Dallas Cowboys: Record prediction: 10-65th seed in NFC, 2nd in NFC East)
Key Players: QB Dak Prescott, RB Ezekiel Elliot (possibly suspended for 6 games after week 1 WR Dez Bryant, TE Jason Witten, Best O-Line in the NFL, LB Sean Lee, DB Byron Jones, DE Taco Charlton and Tyrone Crawford, DE's David Irving and Demarcus Lawrence, LB Jaylon Smith, CB's Nolan Carroll and Orlando Scandrick
The Cowboys have a pretty tough schedule, and the potential Elliot ban would hurt, but they could still easily get to 10 wins (no way they're worse than 8-8, and that's a stretch)If Dez Bryant can continue to get back into a groove,, the passing attack will be even better. The Elliot suspension shouldn't even hurt that much because Darren Mcfaddeen had 1,000 rushing yards behind the league's best O-Line, and while they're not 100% as good, they're still the best. Expect 1,250+ rushing yards. Also, expect Dak Prescot to post similar numbers, though not as good of a TD-INT ratio of 23-4, something like 25:8 makes more sense. The issue is their defense, which is not very good, and just lost 3 starters in the secondary. Many players continue to get suspended, and they don't have much firepower. They have a solid group of DE's who put pressure on the QB. It remains to be seen if Jaylon Smith will stay healthy with Sean Lee, but if they do, they make a dangerous LB duo. The secondary is not great, but Orlando Scandrick, Nolan Carroll, and Byron Jones are solid players. It remains to be seen if they can make up for the losses of Morris Claiborne, Brandon Carr, JJ Wilcox, and Barry Church.
