Chicago Bears pre-Training Camp Roster prediction Published at 7/23/2017

For all the Bears fans out there, I have to break it to you again: We will suck again. Though we may be a better team than people realize because of stout defensive depth and a great running game. Here are my predictions for the Bears full 53 man roster, with name orders for the depth chart.

Review:
QB: Glennon will likely start the year, but in November, expect Trubisky to start playing. I can't imagine Mark Sanchez on a roster again, and Connor Shaw played very well in preseason last year.
RB: Jordan Howard has assured a roster spot after his rookie year, and Tarik Cohen projects as the Bears change of pace back. Any 2 of Cunningham, Langford, and Carey could make the roster, but the latter 2 make it here because they've been with the Bears for years.
FB: After the Bears released FB Paul Lasike, it's hard to see
WR: The Bears are definitely going to have Meredith, White, Wheaton, Wright, and Cruz on the team in the fall. The team loved Randle, enough to sign him immediately following the season, and Bellamy and Thompson showed lots of flashes last year, plus the latter is the KR and PR. Don't be surprised if only 7 WR's are on the roster in September or if Tanner Gentry or Daniel Braverman
TE: The 3 tight ends have likely already gotten their roster spots. Zach Miller is the undisputed, injury prone No. 1. It'll be interesting
OT: Charles Leno Jr. and Bobby Massie will likely start, and the swing tackle and backup position
OG: Josh Sitton and Kyle Long are the best guard duo in the league as part of the best interior O-Line, and they are backed up by Eric Kush, a versatile OL who started some games last year and was locked up before FA. Jordan Morgan was one of just 5 draft picks this
C: Cody Whitehair returns to start again after a great rookie year, and Hroniss Grasu will go back to his role as the backup center. Don't be surprised if Grasu is potentially traded.
3-4 DE: Akiem Hicks needs to get an extension ASAP after a great year. Howard likely starts to plug the hole opposite Hicks, and Bullard, a 3rd round pick last year, and Unrein started last year. Roy Robertson-Harris was a highly sought after UDFA last year but missed the season. John Jenkins likely isn't good enough for the final roster.
NT: Eddie Goldman is the top dog, and there's not much competition for his backup, CJ Wilson.
3-4 OLB: Pernell Mcphee, Leonard Floyd, and Willie Young are assured roster spots. Sam Acho is a good special teams player, and Houston has transitioned well from a 4-3 DE, as well as Young, but was injured after 2 games last year. Don't be surprised if he s
ILB: Danny Trevathan and Jerrell Freeman
CB: With Tracy Porter gone, Amukamara and Cooper were the signings to shore up the secondary this year. Callahan and Leblanc will battle for the Nickelback role after each had solid showings last season. McManis is a great special teamer, and Kyle Fuller only gets a spot because he was a 1st round pick when the team had Charles Tillman and Tim Jennings and played solidly.
FS: With 6 of 8 safeties are PS eligible, which is good. Amos has started the last 2 years, and while he definitely struggled at times last year, PFF gave him a high grade, he ranked 26/90 and he seems to be the likely starter week 1. Eddie Jackson was a great
SS: Quentin Demps was signed as the veteran safety just like Ryan Mundy and Antrel Rolle, who both flopped. But Demps had 6 picks last year, so he can't fail us. Harold Jones-Quartey and Deon Bush both struggled last year, but Jones-Quartey had a decent 1st year, and Bush was just a rookie, so there is
K: Anybody is better than Connor Barth, and so is Andy Phillips (except Blair Walsh).
There ya have it folks. That's what the Bears roster will look like. Too bad they'll likely still suck, which sucks in of itself. Still, it can't get much worse than all the injuries last year, right? RIGHT?!!?!?!
