This is a Backward 2010 NFL Mock Draft where the best teams pick first and the worst teams pick last. What's the point of this? Well, there is no point - but I thought it would be fun to see how the 2010 NFL Draft would play out if Roger Goodell suddenly lost his mind and reversed the order of this weekend's draft. Go here to view my real 2010 NFL Mock Draft.

  1. New Orleans Saints: Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
And now you see why they don't let the best teams pick first in the NFL Draft. How sick would the Saints be if they had a dominant defense to go along with their offense? That would happen if you put Ndamukong Suh next to Sedrick Ellis and Will Smith on the front line. If everyone stayed healthy, this team would go 19-0.

  2. Indianapolis Colts: Russell Okung, OT, Oklahoma State
It's amazing that Peyton Manning really thrived last year despite having a pedestrian offensive line in front of him. The Colts can get away with inferior blockers because Manning gets the ball out very quickly. But imagine if Manning had all day to scan the field and locate an open receiver. It just wouldn't be fair.

  3. Minnesota Vikings: Sam Bradford, QB, Oklahoma
Normally, I would say that paying Brett Favre and a No. 3 overall quarterback wouldn't be an option, but we're in an uncapped year. The Vikings could draft Sam Bradford and have him sit on the bench one year behind Brett Favre. Moreover, Minnesota would have a great fallback option if Favre decided not to return for another season.

  4. New York Jets: Gerald McCoy, DE/DT, Oklahoma
The Jets are hoping that Jared Odrick falls to them in the real 2010 NFL Draft, so that should tell you where they would look if the draft were somehow reversed. Talented youth is needed on New York's defensive front line, and Gerald McCoy would help the Jets put pressure on the opposing quarterback without blitzing.

  5. San Diego Chargers: Eric Berry, S, Tennessee
A team like the Chiefs can't afford to spend a luxury pick on Eric Berry because they have tons of holes at many more important positions. The Chargers don't have that problem; they can use the No. 5 pick in the 2010 NFL Draft on a player projected to be the next Ed Reed.

  6. Dallas Cowboys: Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma
Tony Romo's life will be in Doug Free's hands this season. The Cowboys, picking at 27th, don't really have an opportunity to draft a blue-chip left tackle. That wouldn't be the case in a backward draft. Jerry Jones historically has not selected an offensive lineman in the first round, but I think he would make an exception in this situation.

  7. Arizona Cardinals: Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame
The Cardinals are praying Jimmy Clausen will fall to them at No. 26. That's unlikely to happen, so Arizona would be thrilled if the NFL Draft order were suddenly reversed. The Cardinals' current regime didn't draft Matt Leinart, so they have no allegiance to him.

  8. Baltimore Ravens: Joe Haden, CB, Florida
The team that committed the most pass interference penalties in the NFL would be thrilled if it could land the top cornerback in the 2010 NFL Draft class.

  9. Philadelphia Eagles: Earl Thomas, FS, Texas
The Eagles are rumored to be trading up for Earl Thomas. They wouldn't have to in the 2010 Backward NFL Mock Draft. Philadelphia really needs to upgrade the cornerback and free safety positions.

  10. Green Bay Packers: Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa
Protecting Aaron Rodgers is Green Bay's No. 1 priority, no matter which way the 2010 NFL Draft order goes.

  11. New England Patriots: C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson
With Wes Welker coming off a torn ACL and MCL, and the nonchalant Randy Moss declining at the age of 33, Tom Brady needs a couple of new weapons at his disposal. A dynamic running back like C.J. Spiller would really make New England's offense more explosive.

  12. Cincinnati Bengals: Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, South Florida
Antwan Odom is coming off a torn Achilles' tendon, while run-stopper Robert Geathers can't really get to the quarterback. The Bengals would love to add an extremely athletic pass-rusher like Jason Pierre-Paul.

  13. Houston Texans: Dan Williams, NT, Tennessee
From what I can tell, Houston's top three desired targets at No. 20 are Earl Thomas, Ryan Mathews and Kyle Wilson (in that order). This assumes, however, that a talented nose tackle like Dan Williams wouldn't be available.

  14. Atlanta Falcons: Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech
The Falcons must upgrade an anemic pass rush that produced only 28 sacks in 2009. Derrick Morgan is Atlanta's ideal target, but Thomas Dimitroff would have to trade up in the real 2010 NFL Draft to obtain him.

  15. Pittsburgh Steelers: Rolando McClain, ILB, Alabama
I can't see the Steelers passing up on Rolando McClain if he's available, even in the wake of the Larry Foote signing. Foote was added on to be a backup because the 35-year-old James Farrior won't be around much longer. McClain would step in as a starter in 2011 next to Lawrence Timmons, with Foote being the third inside linebacker on the depth chart.

  16. San Francisco 49ers: Kyle Wilson, CB/PR, Boise State
The 49ers will be looking for an upgrade at cornerback across from Shawntae Spencer. The ideal candidate would be Joe Haden at No. 13. Getting Kyle Wilson at No. 16 in the Backward 2010 NFL Mock Draft isn't so bad.

Sorry for cutting this into two halves; I've received complaints about load times and putting the mock draft on two pages saves bandwith.
