2014 NFL Mock Re-Draft: Round 3

This is a 2014 NFL Mock Re-Draft of Rounds 2 and 3 for Friday evening's NFL Draft coverage. With all of the trades that will go down, I don't expect to get many of these right (I nailed seven in my Re-Draft Round 2 in 2012), but it's still fun to speculate where the top prospects will go on Day 2 of the 2014 NFL Draft.

65. Houston Texans: Tom Savage, QB, Pittsburgh
    As Charlie reported in the NFL Draft Rumor Mill, the Texans would prefer to take a quarterback in the third round. They can land either Tom Savage or Zach Mettenberger here.

66. Washington Redskins: Lamarcus Joyner, CB/S, Florida State
    There's no question that the Redskins need to address their secondary on the second day of the draft.
    
    
67. Oakland Raiders: Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Eastern Illinois
    At long last, the Raiders find a potential quarterback of the future.
    
    
68. Atlanta Falcons: Ahmad Dixon, S, Baylor
    The Falcons addressed a bunch of needs this offseason, but one hole that remains is the safety position, as the team recently cut Thomas DeCoud.
    
    
    
    
    
69. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Trai Turner, G, LSU
    It's strange that some of the national media people believe that the Buccaneers have a need at tackle. That's hardly the case, but Tampa does need to bolster the interior of its offensive line.
    
    
70. Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Reilly, DE/OLB, Utah
    The Jaguars could have selected Khalil Mack at No. 3, but since they don't, their LEO of the future could be chosen here or the third round.
    
    
71. Cleveland Browns: Jack Mewhort, OT, Ohio State
    There's speculation that the Browns could take a right tackle early in the 2014 NFL Draft in order to move Mitchell Schwartz to guard.
    
    
72. Minnesota Vikings: Marcus Roberson, CB, Florida
    The Vikings brought in Captain Munnerlyn and drafted Xavier Rhodes in the first round last year, but they still feel as though they need to add another corner. They'll use a Round 2-4 selection on one.
    
    
73. Buffalo Bills: Antonio Richardson, OT, Tennessee
    The Bills probably would've chosen a right tackle if they stayed put at No. 9. They can fill the position here.
    
    
74. New York Giants: Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State
    These were the defensive tackles on the Giants' depth chart before they re-signed Mike Patterson: Cullen Jenkins, Johnathan Hankins and Markus Kuhn. Think the team needs an upgrade at the position after losing Linval Joseph to the Vikings?
    
    
75. St. Louis Rams: Dion Bailey, S, USC
    St. Louis' defense came on late in the season, but it struggled at times during the year for a couple of reasons. One was the play of safety Rodney McLeod. He wasn't terrible, but it's clear that the Rams need to find an upgrade next to T.J. McDonald.
    
    
76. Detroit Lions: Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska
    The Lions may not go with a cornerback early, but they'll have to address the position at some point during this draft.
    
    
    
    
    
77. San Francisco 49ers: Pierre Desir, CB, Lindenwood
    The secondary is a troublesome area for the 49ers, so they may spend multiple selections on the cornerback position.
    
    
78. Dallas Cowboys: Will Sutton, DT, Arizona State
    The Cowboys desperately need a defensive tackle, as they don't have much around Henry Melton.
    
    
79. Baltimore Ravens: Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama
    Another Alabama player? Why not? Cyrus Kouandjio falls because of injuries, but he'd provide great value here and he would also fill a need.
    
    
80. New York Jets: Martavis Bryant, WR, Clemson
    The Jets need to add more play-makers to the roster because Geno Smith was surrounded by the worst supporting cast in the NFL last year. Eric Decker was signed, but New York needs more receivers.
    
    
81. Miami Dolphins: Billy Turner, OT, North Dakota State
    Expect the Dolphins to double up on tackles and triple up on offensive linemen overall during the draft. They need to overcompensate for what happened last year.
    
    
82. Chicago Bears: Antone Exum, CB, Virginia Tech
    Chicago was able to re-sign Tim Jennings recently, while Charles Tillman was brought back, but for only one year. The Bears have to deal with Aaron Rodgers and Matthew Stafford twice per year, so they'll definitely look to upgrade their secondary with multiple selections.
    
    
83. Philadelphia Eagles: Brock Vereen, S, Minnesota
    Philadelphia's defense was terrible for many reasons, one of which is the safety position. Malcolm Jenkins was signed, but help is still needed there. Nate Allen is just too unreliable to be one of the starters.
    
    
84. Arizona Cardinals: Bruce Ellington, WR, South Carolina
    The Cardinals lost Andre Roberts, so they'll look into finding another receiver somewhere in the middle rounds.
    
    
    
    
    
85. Green Bay Packers: Carl Bradford, LB, Arizona State
    The Packers wanted Ryan Shazier at No. 21, but he didn't make it to their pick. Here's another inside linebacker.
    
    
86. Philadelphia Eagles: Jordan Tripp, OLB, Montana
    The Eagles want to add another linebacker, and Jordan Tripp is near the top of the SPARQ rankings, which I discussed in my NFL Draft Day 2 Preview.
    
    
87. Kansas City Chiefs: David Yankey, G/OT, Stanford
    I'm still baffled by the Dee Ford pick. The Chiefs want to upgrade the guard position, so they could use their third-round pick to fill that need.
    
    
88. Cincinnati Bengals: Jackson Jeffcoat, DE/OLB, Texas
    The Bengals lost Michael Johnson to the Buccaneers this offseason, so they may want to bring in a new defensive end.
    
    
    
    
    
89. San Diego Chargers: Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss
    The Chargers struck gold with Keenan Allen, but they need to find another receiver.
    
    
90. Indianapolis Colts: Jaylen Watkins, CB, Florida
    Here's more secondary help for the Colts. It's apparent that they need it after that playoff game against the Chiefs.
    
    
91. Arizona Cardinals: Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU
    Carson Palmer told the media that he expects his team to use an early pick on a quarterback of the future.
    
    
92. Carolina Panthers: Brandon Thomas, OT/G, Clemson
    The Panthers are desperate for left tackle help. They'll be thrilled if Brandon Thomas makes it here. It could happen, given his injury issues.
    
    
93. New England Patriots: DaQuan Jones, NT, Penn State
    Vince Wilfork was re-signed, but he won't be around much longer. The Patriots need a long-term solution at nose tackle.
    
    
94. San Francisco 49ers: Logan Thomas, QB, Virginia Tech
    The 49ers have so many picks that they'll probably use a mid-rounder on a developmental quarterback. Jim Harbaugh has shown interest in Logan Thomas.
    
    
95. Denver Broncos: Tre Mason, RB, Auburn
    Another second-day running back may seem strange, but Knowshon Moreno is gone, and Ronnie Hillman hasn't earned much trust from the coaching staff.
    
    
96. Minnesota Vikings: Devonta Freeman, RB, Florida State
    The Vikings need some depth behind Adrian Peterson with Toby Gerhart gone.
    
    
97. Pittsburgh Steelers: Walt Aikens, CB, Liberty
    The Steelers were dying for Justin Gilbert to reach them at No. 15. They'll have to settle on a second-day corner now.
    
    
98. Green Bay Packers: Jared Abbrederis, WR, Wisconsin
    The Packers lost James Jones to the Raiders, so they may want to add another receiver.
    
    
99. Baltimore Ravens: Terrance West, RB, Towson
    Given Ray Rice's struggles and legal issues, the Ravens may use a pick in the middle rounds on a new running back.
    
    
100. San Francisco 49ers: Christian Jones, LB, Florida State
     The 49ers don't have much behind Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman, so they could use a mid-round selection on depth at inside linebacker.
