Round 1

It's gotta be defense for Cincinnati. The secondary is thin, the front seven is leaky, and the offense can't drop 38 a game every week. Start up front with Walter Nolen, a popular pick to head to Cincinnati at #17 -- I like the consensus here. Good fit.

I've said this in several mocks - if Booker's here at #18, Seattle better SPRINT to the podium. Is he exciting? No. Is he a metrics darling? No. Is he the most consistent, reliable IOL on a weekly basis in this draft? You bet. Get the card in, pick him here.

TRADE! LAC gets #19 & #120 picks, 2025 draft
TB gets #22 & #86 picks, 2025 draft
What if the Chargers get spicy and snipe Sean Payton's "joker" away from him? Jim Harbaugh gets his old weapon from Michigan back, and Justin Herbert gets a Sam LaPorta-like monster. The Chargers currently have one TE (Will Dissly) on roster.

(from LAC in trade for #19 pick)
The Buccaneers love Campbell, and for good reason. "Mr. Can Do It All" lives up to his self-administered nickname - he had a nearly 50/50 split in run and coverage packages at Alabama last season, plus 100+ pass rush snaps.

With Loveland off the board, Denver snags an instant WR2 for Bo Nix in his sophomore season. PFF reports 75% of Burden's college targets were inside 10 yards -- but that's not a negative in Denver, it's a safety blanket for Nix in the quick-trigger Sean Payton system.

With Burden gone, it's back to my usual pick #21 for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Emeka Egbuka is a proven winner and leader coming out of college, and his personality and ethic should stabilize the WR room in Pittsburgh.

Safety isn't a luxury pick when you fill a legitimate team need with a guy who historically outperformed Sean Taylor, Eric Berry, Jamal Adams, and Earl Thomas (+ over 1,070 more) at the Combine. The fit between Baltimore and Emmanwori is tremendous.

Matthew Golden stays in-state and walks into Texans training camp with a legitimate shot to be WR2 for Week 1. With Diggs out of town and Tank Dell still questionable to return from injury, this is a much-needed fit pick for Houston.

I've gone Shavon Revel here a few times, but I think Barron is a more intriguing prospect in terms of his ability to operate as a "big nickel" CB and hybrid safety in the secondary. He's super physical within the first 5 yards -- vital against players like Jefferson and St. Brown.

TRADE! KC gets #24 pick, 2025 draft
MIN gets #31 & #95 picks, 2025 draft; 2026 6th rd pick
The Vikings MUST trade down - they have the worst draft capital of any team in this draft. KC pops up to improve along the offensive line -- after franchise tagging Trey Smith, they add Josh Simmons to grow at OT.

(from KC in trade for #24 pick)
Revel's only reason for sliding to back end of Round 1 (or early Round 2) is recovery from an ACL tear. He's 6'3" and plays the boundary well -- something the Vikings could use with no less than 6 DBs heading to free agency this offseason.

TRADE! BUF gets #26 pick, 2025 draft
LAR gets #30 & #108 picks, 2025 draft
The Rams GM is on record saying he hates drafting in the 20s. That was an open invite for teams to trade up -- the Bills do so to ensure they get a 1st round quality defensive tackle in Kenneth Grant. Killer value and instant need fulfilled in Buffalo.

(from BUF in trade for #26 pick)
I'm not sure where Jackson ultimately fits (late Rd 1 to mid Rd 2 feels like the range), but I have IOL slightly higher on my list of Rams needs than some other mocks. I think he fits well here and can grow into a long-term starter.

As much as Shemar Stewart shot up draft boards in the Combine, he's still incredibly raw. The Lions can't wait for him to grow into the pass rushing role - they need to win now. Mike Green is the more "ready to go" player at the position.

The WR need is lessened in Washington with their acquisition of Deebo Samuel. The race between Texas A&M teammates Stewart & Nic Scourton for "better Commanders fit" is a weird one. Give me Stewart and the raw upside here.

The Eagles get back to replenishing the trenches and pass rush through the draft. No, Scourton's not a Georgia guy (the Eagles love UGA prospects), but he has the juice and motor to play all three downs and is slightly above average vs. the run.
