Round 1

Picks 17-32
17. Bengals: Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina

Best available who also fills a huge need. Edge also a possibility.

18. Seahawks: Grey Zabel, OT, North Dakota State

Darnold needs blocking and a good run game in order to thrive. Zabel wins out over McMillan.

19. Buccaneers: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama

I have never gone off of Campbell to the Buccaneers, and I’m not gonna start now.

20. Broncos: Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina

Payton gets his Joker.

21. Steelers: Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon

Harmon just feels like the most logical choice to the Steelers. Sanders might be in contention.

22. Chargers: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

Chargers are hoping for Loveland, but Harbaugh will settle with another Michigan guy.

23. Packers: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

Never thought there would come the day when I would mock a WR to the Packers in the 1st.

24. Vikings: Malaki Starks, S, Georgia

Trade back possible. If not, definitely some secondary youth.

25. Texans: Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon

Texans want Banks, but no way he falls this far. Egbuka might also be in play.

26. Rams: Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas

Barron can play all over in the secondary. I think McVay will like that.

27. Ravens: James Pearce Jr., DE/OLB, Tennessee

Ravens doing what they do best and drafting best available. Character issues are a concern, but Harbaugh has a strong locker room.

28. Lions: Tyler Booker, G, Alabama

Defensive End could be an option—we know the Lions need it—but value could be at OG.

29. Commanders: Maxwell Hairston, CB, Kentucky

Long and fast ball-hawking CB—just Dan Quinn’s type. Egbuka, Henderson and Ezeiruaku could also be in play.

30. Bills: Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss

I like Revel more, but he is coming off injury. Bills play it safe.

31. Chiefs: Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State

This draft is deep at TE, so better to go with a lineman. They might go Donovan Jackson, though.

32. Eagles: Donovan Ezeiruaka, OLB, Boston College

Eagles lost a lot of their pass rush this offseason. Here’s a guy with that very specialty.
