Round 1

Picks 17-32
16. Cardinals: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

The other Michigan DT finally comes off the board. I actually think he's the better DT. He gets more consistent, he's bigger and very disruptive. He's just the guy to anchor the middle of this defense.

17. Bengals: Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss

The Bengals said they're going defense and this is the most disruptive guy available on that side of the ball. He's a great pass rusher with a high motor and also plays the run well. He'll make everyone better on defense.

18. Seahawks: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

The first CB finally comes off the board, maybe later than some would expect. Johnson is a great man coverage CB and that's exactly what's called for Baltimore-like McDonald defense.

19. Buccaneers: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama

The Bucs have nothing at ILB as they got beat in the middle of field in the passing game all season. Plus L. David is in the final year of his contract. Jihaad Campbell excels in pass coverage and is also a good blitzer and Bowles loves to blitz his LB's and safeties.

20. Broncos: Matthew Golden, WR, Texas

The Broncos really need a WR as they have no consistent deep threat and Sutton (who is more of a possession WR) is in the last year of his contract. Golden is a big play waiting to happen as he averaged 17 yards/catch last season.

21. Steelers: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

I've been convinced this would be the Steelers pick every since the Combine. Teams weren't too crazy about the way S. Sanders interviewed and that combined with his average size, strength and speed is why I see him falling to the Steelers. However, I do think this is the best environment for him. I also think Aaron Rodgers knows this which is why he hasn't signed with the Steelers and never will.

22. Chargers: Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan

I think this is a little high for Loveland, but his lack of production can be attributed to a run-based offense and having a lousy QB this past season. He certainly has the size and speed that Harbaugh covets.

23. Packers: Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State

The Packers have a lot of good WRs and a great one in Reed (if they ever get around to targeting him more than 4 times a game). However, most of them are in the last year of their rookie deals and without many holes to fill the Packers can afford to draft for the future. Egbuka is very good all-around WR, but he's not elite in any particular area which is why he's still available here.

24. Vikings: Shavon Revel, CB, East Carolina

Revel is still recovering from an injury, but he was on his way to a breakout season before then with 2 INT's. The Vikings need another outside CB and Revel is who they've been focusing on with their draft prospect visits.

25. Texans: Grey Zabel, OT, North Dakota State

The Texans are looking for a LT and Grey Zabel has been rising up mock draft boards. North Dakota State has become an NFL O-lineman factory and Zabel fits that mold as he is a great pass protector.

26. Rams: Jalen Milroe, QB, Alabama

I think this will be the first real shocker in the draft. The Rams were sluggish in re-signing Stafford and I think it's because they already had an eye on his replacement in the draft. They've shown interest in Milroe after they had already re-signed Stafford. McVay will make great use of his arm strength, deep ball accuracy and running ability.

27. Ravens: Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon

The Ravens need a bookend RT to go along with Stanley. Conerly is considered a late 1st rounder mainly for his pass protection. He should do well moving over the right side in the NFL.

28. Lions: Mike Green, DE, Marshall

The Lions have a bunch of guys in the last year of their deals at DE and Hutchinson is still injured. Green is the type of big, productive DE that got a ton of sacks and tackles last season.
He's an aggressive player that the Lions love.

29. Commanders: Maxwell Hairston, CB, Kentucky

After shipping off their former 1st round CB from 2 years ago they bring in his replacement here in Hairston. He has great size and was productive at Kentucky, particularly his sophomore season with 5 INTs.

30. Bills: Derrick Harmon, DT, Oregon

The Bills don't have many needs but a Nose DT is one of them. Harmon has fantastic size and yet still has the ability to get to the QB. He's great against the run but his inconsistency is what drops him this far.

31. Chiefs: Caleb Etienne, OT, BYU

The Chiefs clearly need to protect Mahomes better. Even though they have projected starters at both LT and RT, they aren't very good and one of them (likely the LT) is better off inside. Etienne has gotten a lot of attention from teams this offseason and I think is the right value at the end of the 1st round.

32. Eagles: Malaki Starks, S, Georgia

With the exit of Gardner-Johnson in FA (again) the Eagles need another starting Safety. Luckily Starks has fallen right into their laps. Starks is instinctive and is equally adept in the run and pass defense, but he's not really a ball hawk which is why he is available here. Another Georgia Bulldog to the Eagles!
