Round 1
Pittsburgh has had a need at OT for a while now. Jones is a physical mauler who would be a Day 1 starter. Simply the BPA at a position of need here.
Dan Campbell is a former TE. Ben Johnson was the TE Coach before taking over as OC. They value the position, and trading T.J. Hockenson made the position a need. While Washington may not be TE1 on most boards, his unique size and blocking ability, combined with a massive catch radius, make him an under-the-radar pick to go higher than many expect.
With the Bucs' signing of Baker Mayfield, they're another squad that appears to have their sights set on next year's QB class. Jones would be an upgrade at RT, giving their future signal caller a solid set of bookend OT's along with Tristan Wirfs.
I'm sticking with this pick from my first mock because I like it too much. To reiterate - Pete Carroll emphasized the need to improve up front. The Seahawks have basically turned over their entire DL, but they have a massive hole at NT. Smith sometimes leaves you wanting a bit more, but his size and unique athleticism make him a really nice fit for a defensive front that really struggled last year.
The Chargers need speed at WR. That has been apparent for years. Flowers has very good speed to go with great quickness and YAC ability. This is one of my favorite fits in the class.
The Ravens appear to want to make it work with Lamar Jackson, so adding help would be a logical option. Addison is my WR1 in this class, as a guy who has produced at an elite level at 2 programs and has shown an ability to separate with great routes.
The WR run continues! Johnston would be a nice complement to Justin Jefferson as someone who can win outside with size and speed. With Adam Thielen now in Carolina, Minnesota would be wise to address the WR position early.
PROJECTED TRADE WITH JACKSONVILLE
Kancey is a unique prospect due to his elite athleticism but underwhelming size. Pairing him with Chris Jones would give Kansas City a terrifying pass rush duo on the interior.
Joey Porter Jr. may be my favorite prospect in this class, full disclosure. While it wouldn't surprise me to see him go much higher, I think the Giants would jump at the chance to add a player with his talent at 25. A potential lockdown corner to pair with Adoree Jackson? That works.
With Dalton Schultz no longer in Dallas, TE is a need. Mayer is the most well-rounded TE in this class and would be a Day 1 starter. While not the flashiest pick, this seems like the kind of choice Dallas would make to help both its passing game and its running attack.
Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer aren't getting any younger. Taylor Rapp isn't a starting caliber safety. Damar Hamlin obviously faces some serious questions. Branch is a tremendous value at 27 and could align in several different areas of the field for Buffalo. This is the type of forward-thinking move that good franchises like the Bills make.
While DE may not be the most pressing need for Cincinnati, Murphy is too talented to continue to fall. Sometimes, you simply take the best player available and sort the rest out later. A rotation of Hendrickson/Hubbard/Murphy/Ossai would give the Bengals plenty of pass rush juice to work with.
The Saints have a glaring need along the interior of their offensive line, with former 1st rounders Andrus Peat and Cesar Ruiz slated to test free agency. Grabbing the top IOL on the board here would be a nice value as New Orleans looks to build around Derek Carr.
The Eagles are almost certainly going to address their DL in the first round of the draft, with aging veterans like Brandon Graham and Fletcher Cox nearing the end of their careers. White is another scheme-versatile option who definitely has his fans in some corners of the league.
PROJECTED TRADE WITH KC
Pairing Banks with Tyson Campbell would give Jacksonville a nice tandem of starting CB's. Banks is an explosive athlete with enough size to start outside. This is a guy who Jacksonville may have considered at 24, so it's a solid value to trade down and still land him here.
