Round 2
Patrick Queen and Malik Harrison are both coming up on contract years and I'm assuming they'll decline Queen's 5th year option. Simpson can sit for a year then take over when they're forced to pay Lamar Jackson.
Arizona's top need this off-season is center. Schmitz is a solid value at this spot to step right in and be a starter. All Big 10 with their 3 top picks too.
How about McDonald opening up night 2. Pitt still has TJ Watt but they can really use some depth behind him.
Houston nailed round 1 and they keep it going in the 2nd rd. Banks has rd 1 potential but he slipped out. Great pairing with Stingley for a young CB duo.
Give me Benton for Arizona. Coach Gannon came from Philly so you know they want as much depth on the D-line as they can find. Benton is a terrific athlete for his size.
Lions getting aggressive trading picks #48 & #81 to Indy. They traded away Hockenson last year so TE is 1 of their main needs still. Plus, with another 2nd rounder giving up their 3rd will hurt less. Mayer fell due to a lack of athleticism but he is a solid overall TE.
Indy traded down and gets decent value in Avila. The Colts need an upgrade at G opposite Quenton Nelson and to get their new QB the best protection they can. Avila will start.
Carolina decides to make a pick again after pick 1st. Forbes put up 1st rd stats and combine testing but he is very light. It'll be interesting to see if he can hold up in the NFL.
The Rams may have the worse roster in the NFL right now. They need all the help they can get. They take the 1st LB off the board but I really consider Sanders more of an edge rusher. He's versitle so he can play wherever they need him the most.
Carter and Addison in the 1st. Now with 2 2nds Seattle starts off with Adebawore. He crushed the combine and if he can fill out to play 5 technique that will let Carter play NT. If they both get to their potential this DL looks nasty.
Green Bay jumps up a couple spots costing them picks #42, projected from the Rodgers trade, and #149. Washington is the perfect replacement for Mercedes Lewis. Packers 1st 2 picks are WR and TE and Aaron Rodgers is pissed.
New Orleans repeating last years 1st 2 picks going large school WR then small school O-line. Mauch can sit for a year then the Saints can decide on which G spot he's going to take. In the meantime it gives them solid depth as he can play OT too.
Giants moving all around giving up picks #57 & #89 yet still having a 3rd due to the KC trade down. New York to New York the Giants go with Tippmann, the rare 6'6" center that can pull it off. Day 1 starter.
The Jets traded down so they get ok value in taking Redmond a bit early. Have a 3rd rd grade on him but they need some interior D-line depth.
Mykal Walker's coming up on a contract year and he's not a #1 ILB. Neither is last year's 2nd rd pick Troy Anderson. Both are fine starters but Campbell is the future top ILB this team needs.
Small trade up for Washington giving up picks #47 & #193. They want to get in front of New England to snag a possible future LT in Harrison. Charles Leno is getting on in age and their's also a chance Harrison could already be an upgrade over recently signed RT Andrew Wylie.
Safety is a major weakness right now. Amos wasn't resigned and Savage was benched last year. Brown tested amazing, as did his twin. He should easily earn a starting spot for the Packers.
New England was looking for an OT but they don't need a project. They want a day 1 starter and Jones is that. Does anyone really think Riley Reiff is going to get the job done. Jones will help pave the way for Bijan Robinson and get this offense back on track.
Picks #53 & #148 go to Pit as Chicago, flush will all these extra picks from trading down twice in the 1st rd, get anxious and move up. The linemen are coming off fast so the Bears so grab Torrence. I'm lower on him than most but he'll help upgrade their porous o-line.
I really like Dexter. Thought he did really well at the combine. Pittsburgh moves down to make the a good value pick and possible instant starter
How about another Illinois D-back. Martin can play FS or nickel and he tested awesome this off-season. Tampa has several holes left to fill though.
Miami finally on the board with Musgrave. He has the potential to be the all around TE coach McDaniel wants.
Their's talk of a Jamal Adams rapid decline. Robinson, while a bit of a reach here, can provide insurance on the backend of this improving defense.
Downs is a small slot receiver but he gives the Chargers some protection in case they lose Allen or Williams in the near future.
Detroit double down on D duo. 2 CBs now with Smith to pair with #6 pick Witherspoon. This is your dumb kid brother starting to get buff.
Gonna be cheering for a Detroit v. Jacksonville Superbowl soon. Bergeron will battle Walker Little for the starting RT job.
Charbonnet to Dallas I really like. Elliott's gone and Tony Pollard,'s coming off an injury. Feels right to me.
Buffalo goes receiver again with LaPorta. Luxury pick for a solid team without a lot of holes.
The fastest guy at the combine this year, Turner will inject some youth and speed into the CB position.
Chicago went with Van Ness in the 1st rd who is more power. Now they balance that with the speed rusher Ojulari. Solid compliments to one another.
Philly decides to trade down and gets picks #65 & #188 because they have no middle round picks. Mingo is a solid WR and the Texans need some of those.
Foskey drops a smig due needing to play for a 4-3 defense. Kansas City is more than happy to stop his fall. After releasing Frank Clark this is a smart pick.
