With the draft in the books time to go back and do a wrap up of how teams made out. I might be a bit of a harsh critic to the top 3 round picks, but that is where you need to hit in the draft to be successful. Sure most of the league is 4th rounders and later, but any that turn into Pro Bowlers or All-Pro players is mostly out of luck. So without further adieu, let's get on with that coach that made a book after just one Super Bowl win, Doug Pederson and his Philadelphia Eagles. 

1 (21) - Jalen Reagor WR TCU - D-.......edited to a B- 

2 (21) - Jalen Hurts QB Oklahoma - D 

3 (39) - Davion Taylor LB Colorado - C

I originally hated the Reagor pick, since to be honest I thought he was just another one dimensional speedster like Ruggs. However, after watching some tape I regret that thought and I do see why the Eagles seemed to like him a lot. His speed is very strong, but his ability to high point passes and snatch the ball has some OBJ qualities to him. At the very least, he will give them a viable receiver for Carson Wentz to throw the ball to. I thought Justin Jefferson would have been a better pick, but this draft was littered with many good receivers that everyone had their own favorites that made sense. Without a doubt he is their best pick of the first three rounds. In a stunning move more so than the Jordan Love pick, the Eagles went and took a quarterback in Jalen Hurts. If you ask me, Wentz should be way more insulted than Rodgers is right now. Not only is he younger, but he is also just recently paid the year prior. To me Hurts has no way to see the field and if Wentz gets hurt again then Hurts will be thrown in much too early. His accuracy, decision making, and quickness in making those decisions is all a big issue. He does have athleticism, but I am not sure he can even as good as Taysom Hill's. I really do not understand the pick and they had so many other needs than a back up developmental quarterback that may never see the field. The Taylor pick is fine and they had a big need at linebacker, but they could have done better. To me Taylor is your typical late round linebacker who will have a hard time sticking to the starting roster due to his size and lack of instinct. Overall, these first three rounds borderlines on being one of the worst hauls of the draft thus far, especially when the Eagles are normally active and play the draft board very well. 

4 (21) - K'Von Wallace S Clemson - C

5 (23) - John Hightower WR Boise St - B-

6 (17) - Shawn Bradley LB Temple - C

6 (21) - Quez Watkins WR Southern Miss - B- 

6 (31) - Prince Tega Wanogho OT Auburn - A

7 (19) - Casey Toohill OLB/Edge Stanford - B+

Well hopefully Howie Roseman continues to prove he is smarter than everyone with finding value in the second half of the draft. He has to since his first half was so shaky. Wallace is a nice athletic safety who can provide some helpful talent after they let veteran Malcolm Jenkins go. Unfortunately, they could have done much better had they taken one with their 2nd round or 3rd round pick when there was better talent. I do like the duo of Hightower and Watkins at the receiver spots that could help deepen their depth. It was so desperately needed that I understand why they took so many here. Hightower has a lot more upside as the speedier option, but Watkins is not too far behind. Both were fine quality picks here for the Eagles that could provide value at some point. Bradley is in the same boat as Davion Taylor and I would not be shocked if both end up out of the league quickly. My favorite pick was Wanogho who very easily could have been taken as high as the 3rd round. His rawness could be the reason why he fell, but for the Eagles he probably will not have to start right away and Roseman loves good back up depth along the line. Toohill is close behind with Wanogho as my favorite picks for the Eagles, but I am not sure where he fits in their defense. He is more of a pass rushing edge linebacker in a 3-4 front. However, in the 7th round he had very great value. Normally I do love Howie Roseman's drafts, but this one was a big head scratcher. They had huge needs at linebacker and took many projects there. He did fulfill the receiver need, but with weaker options than I would prefer. Then there was the all important wrench in the whole class with Jalen Hurts. God forbid if Wentz gets hurt then Hurts plays well in his stead, then this whole draft will open a huge can of worms in Philly creating uncertainty with their future. This draft gets a D+, with how shaky their first three round are.
