2021 NFL Draft : Vol 1 - Post Super Bowl

First Round

1. Jacksonville Jaguars - Trevor Lawrence QB Clemson

• This is as obvious a pick that we have had for a while now at the number one pick. Joe Burrow turned into an obvious pick as he turned in an excellent senior season, but we knew Lawrence was going to be the number one pick three years ago during his freshman season. To me he can actually continue to improve in the pros away from Clemson’s simple offense that often felt like it held him back. It seemed to me their offense wanted to highlight other guys like Travis Etienne or Justyn Ross rather than really let Lawrence take over. In their defense, they were so ahead in most games that they never had to do that. I can really see Lawrence flourish in Urban Meyer’s quarterback friendly scheme. However, I would hold my horses before I say he is as good as Andrew Luck. If you ask me I see him somewhere between Joe Burrow and Andrew Luck in terms of a prospective quarterback. Of course he could surpass that, but I do worry if he can overcome adversity on a bad team away from Clemson’s loaded roster. 

2. Carolina Panthers (via New York Jets) - Zach Wilson QB BYU

• Trade Alert: Panthers give the Jets their 8th, 39th picks in 2021 and their 1st and 3rd in 2022. 

• The Jets I think should stick with Sam Darnold as neither Justin Fields or Zach Wilson are better prospects in my opinion. Plus, they still have him under contract for one more season before his fifth year option. They need a lot of help across the roster more than just quarterback in my opinion. As for the Panthers I think new owner David Tepper is supremely rich and not worried about gambling the future for success right now. They are going to be in win now mode as long as he’s in charge in my opinion. Wilson has all the tools, traits, and size to be an excellent quarterback at the next level. The Panthers have been linked to guys like Stafford, Watson, and others on the open market this offseason. I think they may come away empty handed and feel the need to move up for a rookie here. Wilson might not be ready to start right away and could learn a lot sitting behind Teddy Bridgewater. If you ask me I still think Justin Fields is the better prospect, but teams love the unknown and Wilson certainly is the mystery quarterback of this class. 

3. Miami Dolphins - Ja’Marr Chase WR LSU 

• I hope this new Miami front office and coaching staff do not make a new jerk decision like taking a receiver this high. If you ask me Penei Sewell to sure up the offensive line is a much bigger need. However, they are still Miami and run by their naive owner Stephen Ross who loves the flashier option. DeVonta Smith could be an option here, but I still think Chase is the better receiver prospect of the two. He is the younger by two years between the two receivers, he is also bigger, and offers a lot more athleticism from a power receiver standpoint. Had he played this season he probably would have held strong to the top receiver prospect spot, but Smith stole some of the headlines by winning the Heisman Trophy. Both should turn out to be terrific receivers in the NFL, but I would be that Chase turned out to be a tick better as he continues to improve. 

4. Denver Broncos (via Atlanta Falcons) - Justin Fields QB Ohio State

• Trade Alert: Denver gives the Falcons their 9th, 40th picks in 2021 and their first in 2022

• I think if the Broncos feel like someone will move up for Fields then they might get the itchy finger to move up. In a division, with Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert having just a so-so quarterback in Drew Lock is not going to get it done. Especially, for a coach who needs to win now in Vic Fangio. If I were him I would rather hitch my wagon to Fields who can offer enough upside in an up and down season to allow Fangio to come back at the very least. I still think Fields should be the number two quarterback off the board behind Lawrence despite all the doubters. He played very well despite never having his roster at a 100% due to COVID last year and still performed very well in the playoffs. I loved the grit he showed to gut it out against Clemson and played solidly enough against Alabama. It was not his fault they lacked the firepower to beat the Tide. Now I do worry about the lack of success Buckeye quarterbacks have had in the NFL, but I think he could buck the trend. He has a higher football IQ, better poise, and leadership than previous quarterbacks out of Columbus. I still think he should be a better quarterback than Zach Wilson.

5. Cincinnati Bengals - Penei Sewell OT Oregon 

• The Bengals would have to be sprinting to the podium if Penei Sewell somehow makes it to them in the draft. He fits their biggest need as they need to do everything in their power to give Joe Burrow a better offensive line to work with. Unfortunately, since he is probably going to be out for the year due to his ACL tear it will be a year away before they can see how he can look now with Sewell as his lock down left tackle. Sewell to me is the best non quarterback prospect in this class and a very safe pick. He should be able to step in right away and be one of the best at his position from Day 1. If you ask me if he does fall this far down in the draft it’s a terrible move for a lot of those teams who overlooked one of the most important positions on the football field. 

6. Philadelphia Eagles - DeVonta Smith WR Alabama 

• The Eagles got their wish when they tried to tank the last few weeks of the year. Among some insiders they had their eyes set on landing DeVonta Smith to help their meager passing attack. He would certainly give them a more consistent pass catcher with a lot of quickness, great hands, and ability as a high floor receiver. I do worry that he has peaked a bit and might never get better than he is right now, but that is not necessarily the worst thing since he should be a high caliber receiver on Day 1. I am not as worried about his weight and size as others are. During his time at Alabama his teammates Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs, and Jaylen Waddle all missed time throughout their college careers while Smith did not. He is very aware of keeping himself safe and not taking big hits due to his quickness to get away from defenders. The Eagles still need work along the offensive line in front of Jalen Hurts, but now Hurts will at least have his former teammate to lean on when he is in trouble. 

7. Detroit Lions - Caleb Farely CB Virginia Tech 

• The Lions did just take Jeff Okudah with the 5th pick last year, but that was the previous regime's pick. I doubt the new one will just say it’s fine and not try to improve a huge need on their roster just because Okudah is there. Okudah spent a lot of the year hurt on the sideline and when he was on the field he was constantly getting burned. Even if he does turn it around and they should have hopes that he will, but in this pass happy league you need more than one great corner. Outside of the hopes of Okudah turning it around they really have no one else who can help out at the corner position moving forward. Farely is a terrific athlete with great speed, quickness, and athleticism. The former quarterback turned receiver turned corner is still a major work in progress after opting out on the 2020 season. Leaving only 2019 as his only year starting as a corner, which is even more impressive with how strong he was in his one season. With better coaching and more experience he should turn into a terrific corner thanks to his athleticism and ball skills. 

8. New York Jets (via Carolina Panthers) - Kyle Pitts TE Florida 

• The Jets are in a great spot if they decide to stick with Sam Darnold, which would allow them to move down with a more quarterback needy team like the Panthers. It will allow them to load up with more picks to fix this very poor roster. With moving down a bit they are still able to land a quality blocker like Rashawn Slater or a new pass catcher like Kyle Pitts or Jaylen Waddle here. They still have a later pick in the first round to land a quality blocker later. Instead, I would take a rare talent like Kyle Pitts here with Sam Darnold being very willing to dump the ball off to his tight ends. They have been waiting for Chris Herndon to turn it around, but it does not look to be happening. Pitts could be arguably one of the best pass catching prospects in this class and could even push Chase and Smith as being the best. He is a rare tight end who can hit the defense at every level with elite speed, route running talent, and body control. Plus, he is a willing and quality blocker despite being primarily a pass catching tight end. 

9. Atlanta Falcons (via Denver) - Patrick Surtain II CB Alabama 

• If the Falcons continue to make the rumors that they want a new quarterback a team like the Broncos could blow the doors away giving them a deal too good to pass up to move down. I still think Matt Ryan is a top 10 quarterback and has never been the issue behind their losing ways. So the idea that Arthur Smith wants to start fresh with a rookie seems like a bad one. Instead, he can have a quarterback talent much better than Ryan Tannehill and be allowed to open up this offense with Ryan. What they really need is a new defense to slow down opposing offenses. They did just find a solid corner in A.J. Terrell, but in a division with Tom Brady and a pass happy league in general they could use another one. Surtain to me is a better prospect than DeVonta Smith in my opinion coming out of Alabama. He is an instant shutdown corner, which is harder to find than a receiver and comes with very few doubts. Thanks to his Pro Bowler father of the same name I think the younger Surtain is well prepared, poised, and ready to play at a high level in the NFL. 

10.   Dallas Cowboys - Rashawn Slater OL Northwestern 

• The Cowboys need to retool both sides of the line to get a better record next year. Of course, losing Dak Prescott would be a big drawback, but I think they could overcome it at the very least with a better blocking unit even in front of Andy Dalton. Tyrone Smith has been one of the best left tackles in the league, but the past five seasons or so he has just not been able to stay healthy enough to be relied on anymore. As mentioned a lot in sports “the best ability is availability” and Smith certainly has not fulfilled that status for a few seasons. Slater is a great athlete at the tackle spot who has experience playing all across Northwestern’s offensive line. I find it curious that his stock is skyrocketing despite sitting out the 2020 season, so there must be something there that scouts are falling in love with. It could be his versatility, but it could also have a lot to do with his great tape in slowing down Chase Young in their matchups. He should find a place to dominate on a bad Cowboys offensive line. 

11.   New England Patriots (via New York (G)) - Trey Lance QB North Dakota St

• Trade Alert: New England gives the Giants their 15th, 111th picks in 2021 and their 1st and 3rd of the 2022 draft. 

• After watching Tom Brady and the Bucs win the Super Bowl I would imagine the Patriots and Belichick will want to come back strong next season to compete for one next year. I doubt they could accomplish that with Cam Newton or Jarrett Stidham. Plus, according to sources it will be tough to convince a veteran quarterback to go work with Belichick in New England with no say in the organization. One way to circumvent that is by bringing in a rookie who does not know any better. I know Mac Jones to New England is a favorite pick, but I think Belichick will want a more mobile quarterback after seeing a lot of success there with Newton last season. Trey Lance needs some time to develop, but I would trust New England’s brass to know how to protect and develop him. To me he has the 2nd most potential out of the quarterbacks of this class right behind Trevor Lawrence. He has the arm, size, athleticism, and escape ability to be the next Mahomes possibly. I know those are some big shoes to be compared to, but I feel like he has the ability to hit a ceiling that high. 

12.   San Francisco 49ers - Christian Darrisaw OT Virginia Tech 

• I have the Patriots moving up with the Giants to swoop ahead of the 49ers who would probably have their sights set on Trey Lance if they come up empty looking for a veteran quarterback. It would not be surprising if they draft a quarterback later to sit behind Garoppolo who can still play well if he can stay healthy. One way to help him in that regard is to improve the offensive line in front of him. Trent Williams performed solidly enough, but injuries and age would have me worried about giving him the big contract he is looking for. John Lynch and company would be better off looking into the draft for a new, younger, and cheaper tackle here. One rising star is Darrisaw who has the size and athleticism to be a terrific left tackle. Unlike Slater, Darrisaw did play last year and continued to build off his previous seasons where he showed improvement each year. He still has a lot of upside to be developed as he works on his technique. 

13.   Los Angeles Chargers - Kwity Paye DL Michigan 

• The Chargers nab one of the best defensive players in the class at a big area of need on their defense. Despite having Joey Bosa as their top pass rusher they will now be without veteran mainstay Melvin Ingram who is a free agent this offseason. I am sure they would love to bring Ingram back, but he deserves a big deal much like the one they just handed to Bosa last offseason. So going through the draft to find his cheaper replacement would be a wise move for a young up and coming team. Paye is a terrific talent who can rush from all four spots on the defensive line thanks to his size, strength, and quickness. His hands and technique still need a lot of work after being underutilized like many prospects out of Michigan in recent years. 

14.   Minnesota Vikings - Micah Parsons LB Penn State

• Mac Jones could be on the table here if he falls to them here, but I am not totally sure they want to bring in a replica of Kirk Cousins in my opinion. I think they might as well roll with Cousins one more year and decide what to do next year at the position to see what is out there and available. One way to get this team back on their winning ways is to upgrade this defense that took a huge step back last year. It could take a bigger step back if they let go of Eric Kendricks who they dangled out there as a trade piece at the deadline last season and I could also see Anthony Barr being cut this offseason at his big price tag and lack of consistent health. That also does not add that their breakout star linebacker Eric Wilson being a traditional free agent this offseason. All in all Mike Zimmer’s linebacker core could be going through an overturn this offseason. Zimmer is a defensive coach who values linebacker play a ton if Micah Parsons falls this fair I doubt they let him fall any further. He is a rare linebacker with a ton of athleticism in the same mold as Roquan Smith and Devin White. I would not be surprised if he was an immediate star in the Vikings defense. 

15.   New York Giants (via New England) - Jaylen Waddle WR Alabama 

• The Giants are able to move down here and still land their main target in the first round. I am sure guys like Chase, Smith, and Pitts are higher, but I doubt they fall that far to get to the Giants. However, some might say landing Waddle is maybe a better value than those aforementioned big three. He has the Tyreek Hill big play, speed, and explosive quality that many teams are looking for nowadays. I am sure the Giants will be looking for a playmaker like Waddle to add to their meager receiving core. It’s weird how teams are more worried about Smith’s durability over Waddle’s here. Waddle has been hampered by injuries the past two seasons and comes in at a similar size to Smith. If you ask me there is a lot more risk with Waddle here, but he does offer more upside if he can stay healthy. Which is why trading down to land him giving them a few more picks makes this an easier risk to take here. 

16.   Arizona Cardinals - Jaycee Horn CB South Carolina 

• The Cardinals will be having a bunch of players on defense hitting free agency this offseason. Two prominent names being Patrick Peterson and Haasan Reddick. I would imagine they finally let their future Hall of Fame corner Peterson walk with Reddick being younger and having a higher upside. Plus, I think Peterson wants to go to a team where he has a better chance to win a Super Bowl. For the Cardinals it would be a smart move since this is not a strong draft to find a replacement for Reddick, but it is a pretty good corner class. One name that intrigues me is Jaycee Horn who has a lot of length, strength, and speed at the corner position. He reminds me a lot of another Gamecock corner in Stephon Gilmore who possessed the same sort of upside coming out of South Carolina. Like Patrick Surtain II, Jaycee Horn also benefits from coming from a strong NFL lineage with his father Joe Horn being an excellent receiver in the NFL in his own right. The younger Horn should be equally prepared and coached up to be ready for the NFL. 

17.   Las Vegas Raiders - Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah LB Notre Dame

• In a division with Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, and now in this mock Justin Fields the Raiders must improve this defense. They brought in guys like Nick Kwaitkoski and Corey Littleton to help out in the middle of their defense, but both severely disappointed last season. Maybe neither were ever that good and only got a lot of stats playing on great defenses in Chicago and Los Angeles. Regardless, even if they do keep both linebackers, adding a versatile linebacker who can moonlight at safety like Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah may be too good to pass up on. He is an electric sideline to sideline athlete at the linebacker spot who can be a heavy hitter and great coverage linebacker. I would not be surprised if he turns into one of the quickest stars in the NFL with his high talent and leadership qualities. 

18.   Indianapolis Colts (via Miami) - Mac Jones QB Alabama 

• Trade Alert: Indianapolis gives the Dolphins their 21st, 54th picks in the 2021 draft and a 2nd rounder in 2022

• I do not think if you are the Colts you let teams like Washington or the Bears get an opportunity to land Mac Jones. Especially, if the Colts miss out on adding a veteran this offseason. This team is ready to win now with their terrific o-line and solid defense. Jones to me could be a darling from this draft class due to his arm talent, poise, and leadership qualities. I loved how strong he was in relief for Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts throughout his career in college. His lack of athleticism is a bit of a worrisome issue, but behind a terrific blocking unit like the Colts and Frank Reich’s system I do not think it will be as huge of an issue for him. I would not be surprised if he turns out better than Fields or Wilson when it’s all said and done after being a tad overlooked. 

19.   Washington Football Team - Kadarius Toney WR Florida 

• If Washington misses out on a quarterback I can see them looking towards receiver or a blocker instead to improve this roster. I still think Alex Smith is the leader in the clubhouse to start for them next year if they lose out on the veteran quarterback market. Maybe they can take someone on Day 2 to develop behind Smith. One rising star is Toney who was electric at the Senior Bowl showing teams that he is more than just a gadget receiver. He has a ton of speed, but he runs crisp routes, showing great hands, and body control. Had there been a traditional Combine I think he would have really elevated his stock further to becoming a potential top 10 pick. He has the potential and upside to be an excellent pairing with Terry McLaurin giving them a dynamic one-two punch at the receiver position. 

20.   Chicago Bears - Alijah Vera-Tucker OG USC 

• Well I doubt the Bears keep this pick because they are in hot pursuit of guys like Carson Wentz, but I think they are trying their hardest not to lose their first round pick this year. If they can land Wentz without dealing this pick that would be a great move for them to see if they can turn his career around. One way to make sure of it is by upgrading the blocking unit in front of him. Outside of James Daniel and Cody Whitehair at guard and center the rest of the line is open for an upgrade. Right guard has been a big issue for a long time now and despite Vera-Tucker being a better fit for the left side he should be fine on the right side. He could even give Charles Leno a challenge at the left tackle spot after being a strong tackle for USC this past year. Anywhere they put him he should be a quick and effective starter on Day 1. 

21.   Miami Dolphins (via Indianapolis) - Travis Etienne RB Clemson 

• The Dolphins could use a more dynamic running back to pair with Tua Tagovailoa and now Ja’Marr Chase in their offense. The past few seasons they had a rotation of mediocre to okay backs running the ball for them. With so many picks I would not be surprised if they used one in the first round on a running back despite it not being in vogue anymore. They have the flexibility thanks to the amount of picks and solid roster in general. Etienne to me is a rare back worthy of being a first rounder thanks to his running ability and pass catching prowessness. He is a tad smaller and has a lot of miles on him, but he has excellent balance and has shown great durability. I also never really saw him take a big hit during his time at Clemson. Etienne will give them an Alvin Kamare type running back to add to mix on offense. 

22.   Tennessee Titans - Zaven Collins OLB Tulsa

• If the Titans want to make it farther in the playoffs and reach the Super Bowl they need to create a better pass rush. Especially, if they want to beat a team like the Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes or the Bills with Josh Allen. They currently have no one of note off the edge that would strike fear in opposing quarterbacks, they did attempt it with Jadeveon Clowney, but he continues to be just a pedestrian pass rusher. Collins is an ascending prospect who possesses a lot of speed, athleticism, and versatility. He is still an up and coming pass rusher after mainly being used off the line for most of the time at Tulsa. As he develops more of a pass rushing repertoire he will turn into a great player. He still offers a very high floor thanks to his athleticism and coverage ability. 

23.   New York Jets (via Seattle) - Alex Leatherwood OL Alabama 

• The Jets moved down from the 2nd pick and still came away with a terrific pass catcher in Kyle Pitts. Now they can come back around to land a great blocker to help out at all five spots like Alex Leatherwood. Mekhi Becton is securely entrenched at the left tackle spot unless they take Penei Sewell with their first pick. However, this is great value landing Leatherwood who can play at guard, center, or either tackle spots. His potential is probably best as a guard or right tackle with his lack of length, but great power. He is an immediate upgrade for the Jets along the offensive line and will probably do a great job protecting Sam Darnold better. The additions of Pitts and Leatherwood in the first round here would be a great haul for a rebuilding Jets roster. 

24.   Pittsburgh Steelers - Sam Cosmi OT Texas

• The Steelers have a ton of players hitting free agency this offseason like Ali Villanueva, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Bud Dupree, and James Conner. I would imagine all four are probably going to be on new teams next year just leaving the Steelers with an aging Ben Roethlisberger and a great pass rusher T.J. Watt to represent them next year. I would not be shocked if they end up being one of the worst teams next year. So in the meantime as they rebuild this roster finding a new left tackle should be high on their list for their future new quarterback. Cosmi is a talented pass blocker with a lot of athleticism and technique. He lacks the ideal strength and mean streak most teams would want from a left tackle. However, he has been getting better in that department during his time at Texas. He might turn into a great value here for a team like the Steelers who develop blockers very well. 

25.   Jacksonville Jaguars (via Los Angeles (R)) - Terrace Marshall WR LSU

• When you draft a new quarterback most teams come around and draft a new weapon or blocker to help him out. The Jags are actually pretty well off at both spots, but they could do better. One option should be adding some size and strength to a smaller receiving group. Especially, if they lose Keelan Cole this offseason, who has been one of their more reliable pass catchers the past few seasons. They did just take Laviska Shenault Jr last year, but injuries held him back much like D.J. Chark has been the past few seasons as well. If they add a size-weight-speed type receiver to the mix they could have one of the more dynamic passing attacks for Trevor Lawrence to work with. Marshall is an up and coming talent who has all the talent in the world to be an electric playmaker. 

26.   Cleveland Browns - Gregory Rousseau DE Miami 

• If Rousseau falls this far down the line a team like the Browns should jump all over him. They have a huge need to find a new pass rusher to pair across from Myles Garrett. In actuality they need help at every level of their defense if they want to get past the tough teams in the AFC. Rousseau is a talented player, but is sort of a mystery after only having one great season after opting out of the 2020 season. He does have all the traits and athleticism to be a great player once he gains more experience. On a roster across from Garrett he should have plenty of one on one opportunities to wreak havoc on opposing offenses. I highly doubt he will make it this far down in the draft with his upside, but crazier things have happened in the draft. 

27.   Baltimore Ravens - Joseph Ossai OLB Texas 

• The Ravens will have three of their top pass rushers Matt Judon, Yannick Ngakoue, and Tyus Bowser, hitting free agency. I doubt they keep all three and it is hard to predict which ones they will bring back. If you ask me I would assume Ngakoue would be brought back after using a lot of picks to bring him in and possibly having the highest upside among the trio. Ossai could easily come in and replace either Judon or Bowser. He has a lot of the same traits and athleticism that Zaven Collins possesses. It will be interesting to see which one goes higher than the other and if a big school experience like Texas can out trump a mid-major one like Tulsa. I do think Ossai has more upside being the more athletic of the two and having the least experience in general as the late comer to football. With a great staff like the Ravens they could really develop him into a top talent. 

28.   New Orleans Saints - Rashod Bateman WR Minnesota

• The Saints are going to be rolling with a new quarterback next season with either Taysom Hill or Jameis Winston under center. Neither are nearly as good as Brees and will need more than just one receiver in Michael Thomas to lean on. It was odd seeing Emmanuel Sanders looking out of sorts in their offense after clicking quickly in all his other stops. Maybe his age is finally catching up to him. Bateman is an odd prospect to me as I never saw the greatness many saw from his play in Minnesota. He is a solid receiver option with great size, body control, and hands. However, I do worry if he lacks the speed and separation ability needed from a true number one receiver. I do think teams will take a chance on him in the first round, but I am not sure if he turns out as good as people expect him to be. 

29.   Green Bay Packers - Najee Harris RB Alabama 

• Aaron Rodgers put the Packers on notice that he is not happy with how the team has been drafting and wants them to find better talent around him. Especially after drafting Jordan Love, A.J. Dillon, and Josiah Deguara all of whom contributed very little for the Packers last year. Sure maybe Dillon can take over for Aaron Jones and Jamaal Adams who are most likely going elsewhere this offseason as free agents. Harris would be an even bigger upgrade over those two with his great size, speed, and power as a runner. He displayed a lot more quickness and wiggle last season than people expected in what was an amazing season. His hands are also much stronger than people expected and improving pass protection. I would imagine  Rodgers would love to have a talent like Harris behind him on offense. 

30.   Buffalo Bills - Jaelen Phillips DE Miami 

• The Bills like many teams in the AFC with hopes of reaching the Super Bowl they will need to build a defense to compete and defeat the Chiefs. One way to do it they will need to find a new pass rusher or two after letting Shaq Lawson go last offseason. They were one of the worst teams at consistently getting after opposing quarterbacks. Phillips is a rising prospect who has shot up draft boards after replacing Gregory Rousseau this past season. In fact, he looked like a more complete talent over Rousseau who was just an athletic specimen. Phillips possesses a lot of size, quickness, and strength to be a great option off the edge. The Bills could really use his talent on their mediocre defensive line. However, I would not be surprised if Phillips ends up going higher than Rousseau when it’s all said and done. 

31.   Kansas City Chiefs - Jalen Mayfield OT Michigan

• After that pitiful performance at the Super Bowl in protecting Patrick Mahomes I would not be shocked if the Chiefs use a lot of resources to improve that area of their roster. I do think they should get better there once Eric Fisher, Mitchell Schwartz, and Laurent Duvernay-Tardiff are back into the lineup. Unfortunately, Fisher might not be ready for next year after his Achilles’ injury and Schwartz possibly retiring this offseason at his advanced age. Mayfield is a terrific fit to be a strong swing tackle for the Chiefs as they wait for a spot to open up for him. If Schwartz does leave Mayfield should step in right away as a terrific right tackle. He has great tape matching up well with Chase Young in their matchups in college. 

32.   Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Christian Barmore DT Alabama 

• The Bucs will have a lot of questions to answer on their defense with great players like LaVonte David, Shaq Barrett, and Ndamukong Suh all hitting free agency this offseason. I would imagine Suh to be the least likely to return at his age and declining play. He is one of the reasons why they were so great against the run, but he lacks the pass rushing prowess to deserve a new big contract. Plus, he could retire after winning the Super Bowl to complete what was a pretty good career. Barmore could be a quick, easy, cheap, and high upside talent to replace Suh right away. He is the next off the long line of great Alabama tackles to have entered the NFL in recent years. I love his high floor and even higher upside after only being a one year starter for Alabama after being buried on the roster the past few seasons. He should be an instant starter for the Bucs who will be going through a bit of a roster overturn. 

Second Round 

33.   Jacksonville Jaguars - Jay Tufele DT USC 

• The Jags could use a few or maybe a lot of upgrades on defense to compliment their new and improved defense. Especially at the tackle spot where Taven Bryan has not been the answer after being a first rounder a few years ago. They have two terrific pass rushers in K'Lavon Chaisson and Josh Allen to build around on the defensive line. Tufele is a whirling dervish of a pass rusher who can wreak havoc in the middle of the defense. He should also open more tackling lanes for their terrific linebacker group. 

34.   New York Jets - Tyson Campbell CB Georgia 

• The Jets could use more corners to build up their defense for new coach Robert Saleh. He was brought in to get the most out of their defense and young players. Campbell could fit Saleh’s defense perfectly, giving him a big, strong, and athletic corner much like Richard Sherman did for him out in San Francisco. He should be an immediate starting corner with the upside to be even better as he continues to develop his technique and ball skills. 

35.   Atlanta Falcons - Carlos Basham DE Wake Forest 

• The Falcons could always use a stronger pass rush after failing to develop guys like Vic Beasley, Takk McKinley, and Adrian Clayborne over the years. They have all had good moments, but all failed to provide any consistent pass rushing effectiveness. Basham should be rising back up boards after a quietly strong 2020 season after putting together a strong Senior Bowl to reassert himself as a great talent. I would not be surprised if he gets taken as high as 13 to the Chargers with how weak this pass rush class is. 

36.   Miami Dolphins (via Houston) - Nick Bolton LB Missouri 

• The Dolphins really do not have to spend too much on defense with how well they are coached on that side of the ball by Brian Flores. However, it really never hurts having a few blue chip talent players. Nick Bolton could create a dynamic duo in the middle of their defense with Jerome Baker who has quietly put a few strong seasons together thus far. Bolton is built in the same versatile, fast, and coverage specialist mold as Baker that you need on your defense. Teams might come back to value off the line linebacker play after seeing how effective Tampa’s duo did in the playoffs. 

37.   Philadelphia Eagles - Liam Eichenberg OT Notre Dame 

• The Eagles are going to have to retool this offensive line after all their veterans Jason Peters, Jason Kelce, Brandon Brooks, and Lane Johnson all possibly retiring this offseason. All four are an aging bunch and outside of Kelce all have been very injury prone. Jalen Hurts needs more upfront to protect him after watching Carson Wentz have no time to throw all season long. Eichenberg is a nice piece to add that could be a quality swing tackle with upside to play left tackle, but most likely going to be a strong right tackle. Either spot he lands at will be a much needed sight for the Eagles. 

38.   Cincinnati Bengals - Creed Humphrey C Oklahoma 

• More help along the offensive line for the Bengals as they await Joe Burrow’s return. Until he comes back the Bengals will probably be one of the worst teams in the league, but it never hurts to allow younger blockers to get more experience. The new duo of Penei Sewell and now Creed Humphrey should be seasoned enough after their rookie years to protect Burrow when he is ready to go. Humphrey has a ton of experience, size, and technique to be a nice high floor pick here. Better weight management should only see him get better as a pass blocker. 

39.   New York Jets (via Carolina) - Azeez Ojulari OLB Georgia 

• I would not begrudge the Jets for using most of their picks to help the offensive side of the ball, but I am a rare guy who thinks outside of the offensive line they actually have pretty good players on that side of the ball. Instead, they have absolutely no talent outside of maybe Quinnen Williams on their defense. I am sure Robert Saleh would love to get his hands on an athletic high upside edge rusher like Ojulari here. He is an excellent versatile linebacker who is only a redshirt sophomore coming out of Georgia. His athletic upside should only have him become an even better player with Saleh’s coaching. 

40.   Atlanta Falcons (via Denver) - Trevon Moehrig S TCU 

• Keanu Neal, their once highly thought of first rounder, is a soon to be free agent this offseason. Outside his rookie season and this past year he has spent a ton of time on the shelf due to injuries. When healthy he is a very strong in the box safety, but that’s a hard ask for him. Even if they do bring him back they could use a more deep coverage safety like Moehrig to help him out over the top. It will be interesting to see who emerges from a crowded safety group of a lot of prospects with the same traits. I would give Moehrig the leg up due to his speed and ball hawking skills. 

41.   Detroit Lions - Rondale Moore WR Vanderbilt 

• The Lions have a few big name receivers hitting free agency in Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones. I find it hard that they would let Golladay go without at least franchise tagging him. However, Jones will most likely be looking to latch on with a championship contender at his age. He still has a nose for the end zone so I would not be surprised if a good team will look to employ his skills. Moore is a nice dynamic deep threat that could give the Lions a new wrinkle to their generally plodding offense. His biggest drawback is his injuries, but a team will fall in love with his speed and upside. 

42.   New York Giants - Jayson Oweh OLB Penn State 

• I would not be shocked if the Giants took a pass rusher in the first round instead of a pass catcher. They desperately need help at both spots on their roster. I would contend it would be easier to find a better receiver later in the draft than a pass rusher. So maybe a guy like Gregory Rousseau, Jaelen Phillips, or Carlos Basham makes sense in the first round. If not a high upside and athletic specimen like Oweh could be a great find for them. He might have the highest ceiling in the draft as a pass rusher as he continues to develop his skills and technique. 

43.   San Francisco 49ers - Kyle Trask QB Florida 

• In this mock the 49ers missed out on a quarterback in the first round with the Patriots moving past them to land Trey Lance. Maybe they go with Mac Jones, but I would not necessarily say he would be an upgrade over Jimmy G. If they whiff on the veterans this offseason I would not be shocked if they roll with Garropolo and hope he can stay healthy. In the meantime, maybe they can draft a developmental prospect like Trask to sit behind him. Trask could be a nice mystery prospect in this class with his arm talent, leadership, and poise that could make a coach fall in love with him. Much like Mac Jones he lacks the ideal athleticism teams look for nowadays, but I would contend he has more wiggle and escape ability than Jones. Maybe Kyle Shanahan can get the most out of him like he has with lower tier guys like Nick Mullens and C.J. Bethard. 

44.   Dallas Cowboys - Tommy Togai DT Ohio State

• As mentioned with their first pick the Cowboys need help on their line on both sides of the ball. They bring in Rashawn Slater to help out on the offensive side. Now they come back around bringing in Togai to help out on the other side. There is still hope that DeMarcus Lawrence can return to his former great self and maybe Aldon Smith returns to keep continuity off the edge. However, the interior of the line could use work and a talent like Togai can eat up some space in the middle of the defense. He will be such a load in the middle that it will force teams to double block him if they want to get anything going in the run game. 

45.   Jacksonville Jaguars (via Minnesota) - Eric Stokes CB Georgia 

• The Jags just drafted C.J. Henderson to lighten the losses of A.J. Bouye and Jalen Ramsey in last year's draft. However, in this pass happy league you need two maybe even three really great corners to be considered a great defense. Stokes is a big corner who can bring some size to their secondary to combat with smaller receivers by pushing them off the line. He also continues to get better with his ball skills and technique to overcome his lack of elite speed. 

46.   New England Patriots - Brevin Jordan TE Miami 

• The Patriots just drafted two tight ends last year in the later rounds in Devin Asiasi and Dalton Keene. Both ended up finishing their seasons in the IR. Maybe the Patriots will be patient with those two, but it never hurts to bring in a dynamic pass catcher like Jordan. He is the next in a long line of great tight ends out of Miami and could be the best in a little while. Not only is he an excellent pass catcher with a lot of speed and route crispness, but he is also a very strong blocker. Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels will certainly know how to use him in their offense. 

47.   Los Angeles Chargers - Wyatt Davis OG Ohio State

• The Chargers just got hit with the expected retirement of Mike Pouncey leaving a big hole in the middle of their offensive line. However, they also have both of their starting guards Forrest Lamp and Dan Feeney hitting free agency as well. They should use some draft capital and cap space to retool their offensive line for Justin Herbert. I think at this juncture landing a high caliber blocker like Davis who could have easily gone in the first round would be great value here. He is a big road grading blocker who only continues to get better in the pass blocking game. 

48.  Las Vegas Raiders - Richie Grant S UCF 

• Jon Gruden has been on the record that he wanted to draft Derwin James during his first draft back with the Raiders, but did not pull the trigger since they just took Karl Joseph the year prior. He did eventually take Jonathan Abram in the first round the next year, but injuries and bone head plays have held him back thus far into his career. They will probably let him stick around for at least one more year, but finding a better compliment next to him would be a better move for this defense. Grant is a fast rising prospect who was one of the consistent stand outs at the Senior Bowl. His anticipation, quickness, and ball skills will have him be a very good safety for a long time. 

49.   Arizona Cardinals - Pat Freiermuth TE Penn State

• Larry Fitzgerald’s future is still up in the air on whether or not he returns for another season. I would suspect he would, but they still need more firepower across from DeAndre Hopkins in this offense. Maybe Andy Isabella and Christian Kirk develop more. However, Kyler Murray does like to throw to tight ends even if they are bad ones like Dan Arnold and Maxx Williams. Maybe a better option there like Freiermuth who has been compared to being a “Baby Gronk” would be a nice sight for their offense. At his size and quickness he would give Murray a nice big target to look for when he is under duress. 

50.   Miami Dolphins - Dillon Radunz OT North Dakota State

• The Dolphins could use a few more upgrades along their offensive line after taking Robert Hunt and Austin Jackson high in last year's draft. Both were okay, but inconsistent in their rookie seasons. One under the radar prospect who I think could turn into a gem is Radunz out of North Dakota State who had no season this past year. He looked pretty good at the Senior Bowl and performed well against tougher competition. I would not be surprised if he turns into a quality tackle on either side of the line for the Dolphins who need to protect the left handed Tua Tagovailoa better. 

51.   Washington Football Team - Kellen Mond QB Texas A&M 

• In this mock, they miss out on a possible quarterback target in Mac Jones with the Colts leapfrogging over them. However, they can still come back around and land a quality developmental quarterback to stash behind Alex Smith. It was Smith who helped groom Patrick Mahomes so maybe he can do it again here with Mond who has a lot of the same traits that Smith has. He is an athletic quarterback with a strong whip like arm, but needs to learn to be more accurate and anticipate throws better. I would not be totally shocked if he turns into a quality quarterback find here. 

52.   Chicago Bears - Amon-Ra St.Brown WR USC 

• The Bears will be looking into adding a receiver or two when they lose Allen Robinson this offseason. I understand he is a great receiver, but with their limited cap space and lack of a quarterback I understand letting him walk as they rebuild the offense a bit. Darnell Mooney looks to be a great find, but he still needs a bigger option across from him. St.Brown is a crafty route runner with quickness, great body control, and excellent hands who could be a very nice number two option for this offense. His high floor should have him overtake Anthony Miller on the depth chart in no time. 

53.   Tennessee Titans - Nico Collins WR Michigan 

• The Titans are another team who could be losing a quality receiver in Corey Davis. Their one time top five draft pick bust turned in a very strong season last year, but one has to be skeptical that it took his contract year for him to play at a high level. The Titans have to also worry about paying A.J. Brown at some point who to me has proven to be better than Davis. Letting Davis walk makes a lot of sense as they can take a talent like Collins with more upside and a cheaper contract who can replace him easily. Collins is an intriguing big receiver with deceptive speed who could be a nice gem to develop away from Jim Harbaugh’s terribly coached Michigan team that seems to hold back a lot of NFL caliber prospects.

54.    Miami Dolphins (via Indianapolis) - Andre Cisco S Syracuse 

• The Dolphins have probably one of the best corner duos in the league in Byron Jones and Xavien Howard. However, their secondary could use more talent in the safety spots behind that duo. Plus, their slot corner could also use an upgrade also along with their depth. Cisco is a high floor option in my opinion thanks to his length and ball skills to roam in the deep parts of the field. He reminds me a tad bit of Jessie Bates and should be a quick starter wherever he lands. Under Brian Flores’ tutelage he could really find his high potential thanks to his coaching. 

55.   Pittsburgh Steelers - Joe Tryon OLB Washington 

• As mentioned in their first pick the Steelers will probably be going into a huge rebuild mode in the very near future with all their free agents, poor cap space, and overall aging talent. They did their best to be in win-now mode for a few years now and it’s going to start to bite them in the butt sooner rather than later. Bud Dupree will be one of those talented players leaving via free agency. Finding a new pass rusher to pair with T.J. Watt should be high on their wishlist as teams start to double block Watt to slow him down. Tryon is a pass rushing specialist with a lot of speed who could be developed into a quality every down edge rusher. 

56.   Seattle Seahawks - Teven Jenkins OT Oklahoma State 

• I would be absolutely shocked if the Seahawks actually trade Russell Wilson even for the most ridiculous amount of picks. He is literally their franchise and without him they would be dead in the water as possibly the worst team in the league. However, I do think they need to take his demands for a better offensive line seriously after neglecting it for most of his career. Jenkins is a big edge blocker who has a lot of size and athleticism to be a quality blocker at the next level. With better technique and weight management he could really elevate his skill set. For the Seahawks he should be at least an immediate right tackle for them and possibly the heir apparent at left tackle for the aging Duane Brown. 

57.   Los Angeles Rams - Quincy Roche OLB Miami 

• The Rams did too good of a job developing Leonard Floyd into a quality edge rusher. After signing just a one year deal he will probably be getting a big deal on the open market this offseason for a team in need of a pass rusher. The Rams have done well developing pass rushers of late, but most of that would probably be due to Aaron Donald taking up so much attention. So bringing in a high upside prospect like Roche could be an easy solution. He has all the tools and traits to turn into a very high floor prospect here for a team ready to win now. The former highly thought of prospect could give a team great value getting him this late. 

58.   Baltimore Ravens - Josh Myers C Ohio State 

• The Ravens would do well by Lamar Jackson this offseason if they find a few upgrades along the offensive line. After losing Marshal Yanda to retirement and Ronnie Staley to injury their whole blocking unit took a step back. Of course, it did not help that Matt Skura and Patrick Mekari were both unable to snap the ball well at the center spot. Myers could be a quick upgrade with his great size and strength in the run game. If he continues to develop his technique and hand usage he should be a pretty consistent blocker for the Ravens 

59.   Cleveland Browns - Shaun Wade DB Ohio State 

• The Browns are going to be looking for a few upgrades all across their defensive roster this offseason. Outside of Myles Garrett and maybe Denzel Ward the rest of that unit could use upgrades. A versatile corner like Wade could be a great pick up for them with needs at both safety and corner. Wade has a lot of experience at both and will project best as a slot corner with an ability to shade over into the safety zone. His speed is not the best so outside corner is where he was a little exposed last year at Ohio State. I still think there is a lot of upside here with Wade and Ohio State’s pedigree at developing defensive backs will have me more than willing to take a shot on the feisty Wade. 

60.   New Orleans Saints - Cameron McGrone LB Michigan 

• The Saints have been searching for help in the middle of their defense for a long time now. They have one great linebacker in DeMario Davis, but he is 32 so some regression is imminent for him. Bringing in Kwon Alexander could prove useful if he can stay healthy, but he has never proven that thus far into his career. McGrone looked great for Michigan last year in his first full season as a starter. Despite his smaller stature he proved plenty capable of being in the much blitzing and stopping the runner with his consistent tackling. He is also a developing coverage linebacker as he continues to gain more experience. I think he could be one of the better Day 2 selections of the draft. 

61.   Buffalo Bills - Dayo Odenyingbo DE Vanderbilt 

• Doubling up on pass rushers should not be a surprising move for the Bills who need to create better pressure on opposing quarterbacks. They do have two intriguing former high draft picks in Ed Oliver and A.J. Epenesa who could turn into quality players. However, adding Jaelen Phillips and now Odenyingbo would not be a bad move either to really put a bow on their defensive line. Plus, Odenyingbo is an ideal fit on the inside as a tackle or a five-technique defensive end with his length and strength. If not maybe a running back or a deep threat could help them out on the offensive side of the ball. 

62.   Green Bay Packers - Daviyon Nixon DT Iowa 

• The Packers have sported one of the worst run defenses for the past few seasons and they need to fix that if they want to reach the Super Bowl. Especially, since the best way to beat Rodgers is by keeping the ball away with a strong run game. They should improve there with the addition of a healthy Kenny Clark, but even when he was in the lineup they were still pretty bad against the run. Nixon is a big and powerful tackle who is still developing his technique as a late bloomer. He should provide a bit more beef and strength on the interior of their defense. 

63.   Kansas City Chiefs - Elijah Moore WR Ole Miss

• I think KC’s biggest downfall in the Super Bowl outside of their poor offensive line was their unwillingness to check the ball down for an underneath route. They kept trying to hit home run balls with Tyreek Hill and Mecole Hardman. I think adding another quality middle of the field threat to pair with Travis Kelce would give them more options to just take what the defense gives them. Moore is a dynamic athlete who can be a big play threat, but will thrive as a solid slot option who can attack every level of the defense. 

64.   Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Kenny Gainwell RB Kentucky 

• I think Leonard Fournette is gone this offseason as he will be looking for that all elusive big paycheck for a running back. Maybe his performances in the playoffs could earn him some more money. In any case, with so many free agents I think the Super Bowl champions should be willing to let Fournette walk with Ronald Jones Jr still on the roster. I think bringing in a better pass catching back like Gainwell would pair well with Brady in what could be his last season. Gainwell is a dynamic back who can be an elite runner and pass catcher out of the back field for the loaded Bucs trying to repeat as Super Bowl champs. 

Third Round 

65.   Jacksonville Jaguars - Jackson Carman OL Clemson 

• The Jags could use a little competition at both tackle spots where Cam Robinson and Jawaan Taylor have been just okay so far into their careers. Carman can challenge at both spots, but will probably find his best fit at guard where the Jags could also use his help. His high floor as a left tackle for many years protecting Trevor Lawrence could make him an appealing pick up here for the Jags with his former quarterback. 

66.   New York Jets - Chazz Surratt LB UNC 

• The Jets continue to find talent for their lackluster defense for Robert Saleh to build around. One big area of need will be their linebacker spot after trading away Avery Williamson who was their only backer of note to lean on. Surratt is a high rising prospect who performed very well at the Senior Bowl. The former quarterback is still learning his craft as a linebacker and should only get better with Saleh’s coaching. 

67.   Houston Texans - Dyami Brown WR UNC 

• It will be incredibly hard to predict what the Texans will do anymore and even more so in the draft. I expect them to look for a receiver after the blowback they gained by trading away DeAndre Hopkins for pennies. Brown is an intriguing all around receiver who can attack defenses at all levels. As his route tree expands he should only continue to get better. However, it is the Texans so this could be a meaningless pick on what could be the worst team next year. 

68.   Atlanta Falcons - Javonte Williams RB UNC 

• I highly doubt three UNC players go in a row here, but weirder things have happened in the draft. Plus, UNC under Mack Brown is brimming with talent heading to the NFL. Anyways in terms of the Falcons they need a new running back with Todd Gurley hitting free agency. Williams is a dynamic bruising back who could attack defenses with his power running and speed. His hands are also improving along with his blocking. He should be a nice addition for Arthur Smith’s offense. 

69.   Cincinnati Bengals - Levi Onwuzurike DT Washington

• The Bengals should only focus on their offensive line, but I would not fault them for trying to fix their pass rush as well. After trading away Carlos Dunlap and possibly cutting Geno Atkins this offseason the Bengals will be in need of a new influx of talent up front. They do have hopeful upside prospects at the edge with Sam Hubbard and Carl Lawson still offering some youthful talent. Onwuzurike could be a nice addition along the interior if they lose Atkins this offseason. 

70.   Philadelphia Eagles - Dylan Moses LB Alabama 

• The Eagles should be eyeing Micah Parsons in the first round, but I think they are going to try to hit a home run with DeVonta Smith or another flashy prospect. They could still land a very strong linebacker prospect here with Dylan Moses who is a bit of a falling star in this draft. Prior to his ACL injury two summers ago he was projected to be a top 10 pick. Maybe another year removed from it could see him round back into form. He is a worthy high upside pick to take here for any team.

71.   Denver Broncos - Patrick Jones II DE Pittsburgh

• The Broncos will be needing to land a new pass rusher to pair across from Bradley Chubb. Especially, with the Broncos most likely letting Von Miller go with him aging, and becoming increasingly injury prone. He is also dealing with some legal issues off the field pertaining to domestic abuse. Jones is a dynamic player who has a high floor thanks to his size and speed. He has a lot of upside as he continues to fill out his frame. 

72.   Detroit Lions - Hamilcar Rashed Jr OLB Oregon State

• Trey Flowers was supposed to bring his pass rushing prowess onto the Lions defensive front. Thus far he has just been a huge free agent bust with the amount of money he has been given by the Lions. He could turn it around with this new regime, but who knows. Rashed Jr could pair well with Julian Okwara who was their 3rd round pick last year. The Beaver product is an electric speed rusher who could develop into a very good every down player. 

73.   Carolina Panthers - Hunter Long TE Boston College

• The Panthers took Zach Wilson by trading up in the first round and now can come around to find him a complimentary piece. I would recommend a receiver or tight end. Ian Thomas has been a pretty big disappointment thus far and Curtis Samuel is a soon to be free agent. Hunter Long is one of the last in a shallow tight end group worthy of being taken this high. He has all around talent as a pass catcher and a blocker. 

74.   Washington Football Team (via San Fran) - Shi Smith WR South Carolina

• Washington should be looking into finding another receiver or two to add depth behind Terry McLaurin. Especially if they decide to move to Kellen Mond at some point in this scenario. Shi Smith is another quick, fast, and electric slot receiver out of South Carolina. He is another in a handful of receivers who stood out at the Senior Bowl. He should continue to improve with more experience and touch to his routes. 

75.   Dallas Cowboys - Landon Dickerson C Alabama 

• More offensive line help for the Cowboys who will need to protect Dak Prescott better after giving him that massive contract everyone is expecting to give him. They need help at every spot beside Zach Martin who is one of the best blockers in the league still. Dickerson could be a great stash pick here since he will probably miss the year from his ACL injury he suffered in the playoffs. He is a very experienced blocker who can play either center or guard for the Cowboys. 

76.   New York Giants - Marvin Wilson DT Florida State

• The Giants have two big free agents along their defensive line in Leonard Williams and Dalvin Tomlinson hitting free agency. I doubt they let Williams go after how strong he played last year. Unfortunately, they might lose Tomlinson who has been a steady rock in the middle of their defense. Wilson is a bit of a falling star after a bad season, but he was once thought of as a top 10 pick. Maybe he can rally into a top flight talent as a great late round gem. 

77.   New England Patriots - Forfeited 

78.   Los Angeles Chargers - Trey Hill C Georgia

• The Chargers can double down on interior blockers here with a center to replace the retired Mike Pouncey. It should not be hard as centers tend to get overlooked on in the draft for the most part. Hill is a strong power blocker who can blow open holes in the run game with his strength and experience in Georgia’s run first offense. He does need to improve upon his snaps, but that can be coached up. In either case adding both Hill and Wyatt Davis earlier should help Justin Herbert throw from a clean pocket this year. 

79.   Minnesota Vikings - Deonte Brown OG Alabama 

• The Vikings made a great move starting Ezra Cleveland into the starting line up over Pat Elflein during the season last year. Now they just need to replace Dru Samia to give them a pretty solid offensive line overall. One great fit to their offense would be Deonte Brown who specializes opening up holes in the run game. With the Vikings leaning on Dalvin Cook and the run game he should fit very nicely into their game plan. 

80.   Arizona Cardinals - Jabril Cox LB LSU 

• The Cardinals will be losing De’Vondre Campbell this offseason as he hits free agency. He is a very solid linebacker who played very well this year and should find a nice payday elsewhere. With a lot of other players hitting free agency it will be hard to keep him. Bringing in a replacement at linebacker like Cox should make it easy to move on from Campbell. They should let Simmons play a bit more, but Cox should be a nice depth linebacker for their roster who should turn into a very strong starter. 

81.   Las Vegas Raiders - Asante Samuel Jr CB Florida State

• The Raiders just took Damon Arnette in the first round last year, but he really did not play very well in his rookie season. He might be able to turn it around, but as I mentioned most teams could use a lot of good corners to build around. Especially, if the Raiders need to go up against the Chargers and Chiefs twice a season. Samuel is a quicker than fast corner who can be a very strong find on Day 2. He lacks true natural athleticism, but he is a very sticky corner with great technique. 

82.   Miami Dolphins - Ifeatu Melifonwu DB Syracuse 

• It would not hurt for the Dolphins to take a few new defensive backs to load up the back end of their defense. Especially, to combat the Bills high powered offense within their division. Melifonwu is much like his brother Obi with a lot of talent, athleticism, and upside. Scouts and GMs will be falling in love with him with his high end talent. Maybe Brian Flores can unlock his high end potential giving him a unique corner/safety type talent. 

83.   Washington Football Team - Walker Little OT Stanford 

• Washington has a huge need all across their offensive line to keep whoever they have under center upright. Especially, after seeing how battered Alex Smith was all season long. Walker Little was once seen as a top end offensive tackle prospect even last year in a crowded and talented offensive tackle class that saw guys fly quickly off the board in the first round. He does have some injury concerns, but if he can stay healthy he could be an excellent find here in the 3rd round. 

84.   Chicago Bears - Elijah Molden CB Washington 

• The Bears should be in the market for a new corner or two for depth behind Kyle Fuller and Jaylon Johnson. Especially in the slot with Buster Skrine failing very badly all last season then the depth behind him was not much better. Molden would be a perfect fit with his ideal fit being in the slot and will also bring a lot of ball skills to a defense that lacked turnovers last year. He does excel in taking the ball away and baiting quarterbacks into mistakes. Besides his smaller size he should turn into a very strong find here. 

85.   Indianapolis Colts - James Hudson OT Cincinnati

• With Anthony Castonzo retiring their new rookie quarterback Mac Jones will need a little help to stay upright. Luckily for Jones the rest of the Colts line may be the best in the league. I am not sure they will find an immediate solution for Castonzo here in the 3rd round, but they could get lucky. Hudson is an ascending prospect who has a lot of talent and upside to develop into at least a very good swing tackle. 

86.   Tennessee Titans - Rashad Weaver DE Pittsburgh

• With how big of a need they have at pass rusher the Titans should be willing to double down on the position. They need to get after the talented passers better in the AFC if they ever want to make it to the Super Bowl. Zaven Collins in the first round helps, but he is more of a hybrid linebacker still. Weaver will be a quick starter on the edge with his experience and size. He does need to get a tad stronger and health has been an issue throughout his career. 

87.   New York Jets (via Seattle) - Spencer Brown OT Northern Iowa

• They have a great talent at left tackle in Mekhi Becton, but the rest of the offensive line could still be retooled a bit. They did bring in Alex Leatherwood in the first round here who should be able to help and would give them a lot of versatility. GM Joe Douglas went after the bigger athlete for left tackle in Becton, maybe he does the same here in Brown as a massive right tackle. Brown could be a quick immediate starter as a big bully right tackle who can anchor the line. 

88.   Pittsburgh Steelers - Tutu Atwell WR Louisville 

• The Steelers under GM Kevin Colbert have drafted a receiver for all 20 years he has been in charge of the draft. I doubt he changes now with JuJu Smith-Schuster hitting free agency. Along with guys like Diontae Johnson, Chase Claypool, and James Washington all not able to catch a football. Atwell is a smaller receiver, but is an electric playmaker that the Steelers need to diversify this passing attack. All their receivers are about the same the past few seasons and they lacked an easy deep threat to strike fear in opposing defenses. 

89.   Detroit Lions (via LAR) - Talanoa Hufanga S USC 

• More secondary help for the Lions who need to figure out how to slow down Aaron Rodgers in division if they ever want to be considered a legitimate playoff threat. They have one good safety in Tracy Walker, but he is always hurting himself with his big hits in the box. Adding a better coverage safety like Hufanga who has experience all over the defense could be a nice addition. They need talent in general on that side of the ball regardless of position. 

90.   Cleveland Browns - Tyler Shelvin DT LSU 

• The Browns are going to be losing Larry Ogunjobi and Olivier Vernon this offseason, two of their better pass rushers on the line. Sheldon Richardson is still around, but he continues to disappoint after getting his big contract from the Jets back in the day. Shelvin is a load of a tackle who can excel in the run game and offers upside in the pass rushing game. At the very least, he should take up attention away from Garrett and now Rousseau on the other side of him on the defensive line. 

91.   Minnesota Vikings (via Baltimore) - Payton Turner DE Houston 

• Losing Everson Griffen left a big hole on their defensive line last year. It did not help that Danielle Hunter was forced to miss time due to a neck injury. Who knows if he will be able to return to form after that type of surgery, which is always tricky for defensive linemen to overcome. Turner should at the very least push the mediocre bunch that they trotted out over this past season that they tried to get after quarterbacks with. His versatility and size could fit very nicely on their 4-3 front. 

92.   Cleveland Browns (via NO) - Hamsah Nasirildeen S Florida State

• The Browns continue to find talent for their defense to better their chances when they go toe to toe with the Chiefs, Bills, Ravens, and Chargers in the playoffs. They did take Grant Delpit in last year’s second round, but he went on to be injured for the year. Maybe he comes back healthy and back to his high pedigree he had prior to floundering in his last season at LSU. I would not hold my breath and would not hesitate to take a rare specimen like Nasirildeen. He still has a lot of upside as a size-weight-speed prospect who is also coming off an ACL injury from 2019 that slowed him down in 2020. 

93.   Green Bay Packers - D’Wayne Eskridge WR Western Michigan 

• The Packers finally land that elusive high draft pick receiver that all the fans and media want them to land. People act like you cannot find receiver talent outside of the first round for some reason. Adams himself is a late 2nd rounder. In any case, Eskridge is a unique talent who has played well at both receiver and corner during his time at Western Michigan. He has a ton of speed, aggressiveness, and athleticism along with a nice route tree to be a great find for the Packers here. 

94.   Buffalo Bills - Pete Werner LB Ohio State

• The Bills are going to have to look for a new linebacker or two that can actually cover a tight end this offseason. They have one in Matt Milano, but he was mired with injuries last year and is now a free agent. Their former first rounder Tremaine Edmunds looked all out of sorts last year. Werner could give them a cheaper find than what Milano will be owed on the open market. He is a long time back up for the Buckeyes and finally had time as a starter last year showing a lot of promise. As he gains more experience he should continue to be an even better linebacker in the middle of the defense. 

95.   Kansas City Chiefs - Jared Goldwire DT Louisville 

• I would try to find more natural pass rushers if I were the Chiefs especially on the interior of their line. They have a few nice rotational talents, but none are really that threatening outside of slowing down the run game occasionally. Guys like Alex Okafor, Tanoh Kpassagnon, and Taco Charlton are free agents this offseason. A 3rd rounder like Goldwire here could be an easy replacement for those guys. Goldwire is a continually improving tackle who can push the pocket and get after the quarterback very well for such a large tackle. 

96.   Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Aaron Robinson CB UCF 

• I know their corners Sean Murphy-Bunting, Carlton Davis, and Jamel Dean all played very well in the Super Bowl and playoffs in general. However, all three were very very inconsistent for most of the season to the point where I think the Bucs could do better there. Especially if they want to make a deep run into the playoffs again. Size is a bit of an issue for Robinson, but he is an ideal fit in the slot with a lot of grit and ability to tackle the run game. He should be a nice high floor option along with a good amount of upside as he continues to get better in his technique and instincts. 

Fourth Round 

97.   Jacksonville Jaguars - Greg Newsome CB Northwestern

• The Jags bring in more corner depth to help solve one of their biggest issues on defense. Newsome has a lot of talent and upside as a late round corner find here. Injuries are a bit of a red flag for him, which is why his talent falls a bit here. 

98.   New York Jets - Michael Carter RB UNC 

• The Jets should not be rolling with Frank Gore this season as their main feature back. They must do better there if they want Sam Darnold to really succeed. Carter is a dynamic back with nice wiggle, hands, and pass blocking ability as an experienced back. He along with his teammate Javonte Williams will provide a lot of talent to teams in need of a running back in this draft. 

99.   Atlanta Falcons- Tylan Wallace WR Oklahoma State

• The Falcons will be going through a bit of a rebuild if they do go through trading away Julio Jones. I think they should take away some salary and at his age there might not be a better time to trade him away for good value. In any case, value behind Jones, and Calvin Ridley was a bit of an issue last year. Wallace to me is a safe second tier option who reminds me a lot of Marvin Jones. He should carve out a nice role in Atlanta. 

100. Houston Texans - Victor Dimujeke OLB Duke 

• Letting go of J.J. Watt will not make the fanbase like this team anymore than they already don’t, but it was the necessary move for both sides. At his age he was not going to be worth the big deal they were giving him and for Watt he deserves to go somewhere he can actually win a Super Bowl hopefully.  Dimujeke does not play the same position that Watt did, but he offers a high floor as a standing rush linebacker. He also has a lot of leadership and maturity that will be needed on this sinking ship if they ever want to turn it around. 

101. Cleveland Browns (via Philadelphia) - Baron Browning LB Ohio State

• The Browns still have hopes that Mack Wilson can turn into a reliable every down linebacker along with Sione Takitaki who was fine last year. They could do better in the middle of their defense with a better linebacker or two to compete for a starting role. Browning is another local talent who can appeal to the Browns and their fanbase to add to their defense. 

102. Cincinnati Bengals - Sage Surratt WR Wake Forest

• Losing A.J. Green this offseason is not as bad as it would have been a year ago. Especially, with Tee Higgins emerging last year displaying a great rapport with Joe Burrow. However, depth is still an issue behind Higgins and Tyler Boyd that the Bengals will want to improve upon. Surratt is a talented, big, and dynamic receiver that can be a great value on Day 3. 

103. Detroit Lions - Marlon Tuipulotu DT USC 

• More help for the Lions meager defensive line that has not been able to put pressure on any quarterback the past few seasons. It would help finding a talented interior pass rusher with Danny Shelton and Da’Shawn Hand not providing anything in that sort of help up front. Tuipulotu offers three down potential thanks to his energy and effort up front. 

104. Carolina Panthers - Paulson Adebo CB Stanford 

• Donte Jackson has quietly turned into one of the better corners in the league, but he needs more help across from him. If the Panthers want to be taken seriously with their new quarterback Zach Wilson they have to slow down the opposing team’s offense. Adebo is a big, strong, and athletic corner who has a lot of upside as an experienced defender. Injuries are a bit of a red flag, but landing him in the 4th round is worth the risk. 

105. Denver Broncos - Paris Ford S Pittsburgh

• The Broncos have two of their better defenders Justin Simmons and Kareem Jackson hitting free agency this offseason. I am not sure if they will want to give either a new deal with Simmons deserving a big contract and Jackson continuing to age. Bringing in a cheap and young option like Ford could be an easy decision for them. He offers a lot of upside as a playmaker who can create turnovers for Vic Fangio’s defense. 

106. Dallas Cowboys - James Wiggins S Cincinnati 

• The Cowboys need to find an actual threatening safety to patrol the back end of their defense. I know they do not value it too much with how rarely they draft guys highly for that position, but it was certainly one of the reasons why their pass defense was so putrid last year. Also, I would quickly remove Xavier Wood after he made it be known he does not put 100 percent effort on every play. That could be true, but you never voice that to the media as a football player. Wiggins gives a ton of effort as a versatile defender who can be a quick replacement for Wood. 

107. New York Giants - Tre McKitty TE Georgia 

• I am not sure if the Pro Bowler by default tight end Evan Engram will be around for the long term in New York. He was dangled out as a trade chip during the season last year and he continues to disappoint as a reliable pass catcher with his terrible hands. I would move on from him if I were the Giants and bring in a cheaper option to replace him. McKitty could be a great gem as he moves away from the run first offense at Georgia. 

108. San Francisco 49ers - Trill Williams CB Syracuse 

• Richard Sherman was the 49ers only reliable corner for the past few seasons, but as he hits free agency he will probably be finding a new team to call home. Outside of him the depth is very weak and is a big area of need for them to round out what could be one of the best defenses in the league when healthy. Williams is a long, rangy, and athletic corner who has a lot of upside and potential to develop into a top corner prospect. Too bad they do not have Robert Saleh around anymore to develop him. 

109. Los Angeles Chargers - Amari Rodgers WR Clemson 

• The Chargers should look to build up the depth behind their top two receivers Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. When they are both on the field the two might be the best duo at receiver in the league, but both are major injury prone players. Adding a talented slot machine like Rodgers could add more explosiveness to the receiving core when all three are on the field and give them a quality option to lean on if either veterans suffer another injury. 

110. Minnesota Vikings - Tommy Tremble TE Notre Dame 

• The Vikings will be losing their long time veteran tight end Kyle Rudolph this offseason to free agency. They could get him back on a team friendly deal, but his play has been in a steady decline for awhile now. Instead, bringing in another Notre Dame tight end in Tremble to push Irv Smith who has been an underwhelming player thus far into his career. Tremble has the right makeup to be at the very least a strong second option tight end who can block and make plays in the middle of the field. 

111. New York Giants (via New England) - Jermar Jefferson RB Oregon State

• The Giants should look to find a better running back to take the load off Saquon Barkley’s shoulders as he returns from his ACL injury. Maybe they stick with the likes of Wayne Gallman and Devonta Freeman, but both are very low end options. Jefferson offers great third down ability with his pass catching ability and blocking talent. He can also run the ball with consistency as a nice spell back for Barkley to lower his mileage leading up to what could be a contentious contract negotiation next offseason. 

112. Las Vegas Raiders - Alim McNeil DT North Carolina State

• The Raiders continue to load up this defense with new young and exciting talent to help combat the Chiefs twice a season. McNeil would be a nice interior pass rushing option to help open up opportunities for Maxx Crosby and Clellin Ferrell who have been a bit inconsistent to this point of their careers. With no obvious pass rushing tackle to challenge up the middle of their defense it should not be hard for the high upside McNeil to find snaps to make his talent known as he continues to gain more experience as a former linebacker in high school. 

113. Houston Texans (via Arizona) - Israel Mukumaru CB South Carolina 

• More high upside talent for the Texans who just need to find talent for this talentless roster. Their secondary has been one of the worst for a long while now so a corner or safety or two make a lot of sense for them in this draft. Mukumaru is an impressive athlete as a 6’4” corner who can be a true game changer if he proves to be fluid enough to play corner. He also offers a lot of versatility thanks to his size and athleticism. 

114. Miami Dolphins - Jimmy Morrissey C Pittsburgh 

• The Dolphins should be using multiple picks to finally round out this offensive line creating a pretty strong young unit. They already have guys like Michael Deiter, Austin Jackson, and Robert Hunt who offer a lot of upside. Then they bring in Dillon Radunz to help out at the other tackle spot. Now all they need is a better center who can be Morrissey here who offers a lot of talent to lock down the center spot. He also offers a lot of upside and versatility as a nice build for either center or guard. 

115. Washington Football Team - Trey Smith OG Tennessee 

• Their All-Pro guard Brandon Scherff is a free agent this offseason and they may be tempted to let him walk. He does deserve a big contract as one of the best guards in the league, but injuries continue to be a big issue for him as well. Washington would be wise to let another team overpay for him. Even with him they still have one of the worst o-lines in the league so adding a talent like Smith could make it easier to see Scherff elsewhere. Smith was once seen as a top 20 prospect and could maybe return to that peak as he gets in better shape. 

116. Minnesota Vikings (via Chicago) - Jevon Holland S Oregon

• The Vikings were wise to give Anthony Harris the franchise tag last year after his breakout season in 2019. However, he was a big disappointment in 2020 so letting him walk this offseason seems pretty easy for the Vikings who were wise to use caution with Harris being a one year wonder. Holland is a smaller safety who can fall a bit in the draft, but offers a lot of speed and athleticism at corner or safety. He could be a steal here with his upside. 

117. Tennessee Titans - Benjamin St.Juste CB Minnesota 

• I would look to add a corner or two if I were the Titans who have really no young upside option of note there. They do still hold out hopes that Adoree’ Jackson can develop, but he has been too often injured to do so. Malcolm Butler could also be a cap casualty with his big underserved contract after being just mediocre since arriving in Tennessee. St.Juste offers a lot of upside with his length and steady coverage ability. That could stand out in a smaller cornerback room in Nashville. 

118. Indianapolis Colts - Seth Williams WR Auburn 

• The Colts will be looking for another receiver across from Michael Pittman after T.Y. Hilton leaves as a free agent this offseason. They do have some intriguing second tier receivers like Parris Campbell, Marcus Johnson and Dezmon Patmon. None are anything to write home about thus far. Williams to me is a safe number two receiver that can be had on Day 3. He offers sneaky speed and bigger size as an ideal fit as a slot option thanks to his sneaky strong route running ability. Shaky hands have been an issue for him throughout his career. 

119. Pittsburgh Steelers - Drake Jackson C Kentucky 

• I doubt the Steelers can find a replacement for Maurkice Pouncey this late in the draft, but it never hurts to try. Pouncey gave them a sure thing at center for a long long time and without him their o-line could take a big step back without their leader in the middle. It will not be easy to overcome, but a talent like Jackson could challenge as a starter. Jackson is a well rounded talent who could be a quick starter on Day 3 for a draft savvy team like the Steelers. 

120. Seattle Seahawks - Kelvin Joseph CB Kentucky 

• The Seahawks will probably use their franchise tag on Shaq Griffin at corner, but they could be in a bit of a crunch cap wise to be able to do so. They could lose their only upside corner who has been a bit of a disappointment the past few years after his great rookie season. A new corner like Joseph could be a nice fit for their defense with his size and athleticism. He is extremely raw after transferring from LSU and only playing 9 games at Kentucky. I can see him fitting exactly the type of value they want from their draft picks. 

121. Jacksonville Jaguars (via LAR) - Quintin Morris TE Bowling Green 

• The Jags would be wise to take a look for a tight end in this year's draft class and free agency class. I can see them overpaying for a talent like Hunter Henry on the open market, but it never hurts to have good depth behind him with his injury history. Morris is one of the standouts from the Senior Bowl and helped his stock a lot as one of the smaller school stars there. 

122. Baltimore Ravens - Demetric Felton WR/RB UCLA 

• I would actually recommend the Ravens go after another blocker here if they do not get any in free agency. They will be needing multiple upgrades across the offensive line and maybe even more if they let Orlando Brown Jr go. However, I can see them also eyeing a new receiving weapon to diversify their offense. Felton is a former running back who has been moved to receiver and has been flourishing. He could be one of the bigger steals in the draft if he lands with an organization that knows how to use him. 

123.  Cleveland Browns - Aaron Banks OG Notre Dame 

• The Browns could use some depth along their offensive line. Especially, with how fast their starters were dropping like flies due to injury down the stretch. With how they want to run the offense they need strong blockers to open the running lane and keep Baker Mayfield in the pocket where he operates much better. Banks is another in a long line of safe and high floor blockers out of Notre Dame. He should challenge for a starting spot in due time. 

124. New Orleans Saints - Rhamondre Stevenson RB Oklahoma

• The Saints should be looking to add some depth to their running attack behind Alvin Kamara. Latavius Murray has been a nice spell back for him and one they can rely on when Kamara was banged up. However, he could be a cap casualty for the Saints who have the worst cap situation in the NFL. Stevenson is a bigger back who could pair very well with Kamara and lighten the load on their best playmaker on offense. 

125. Minnesota Vikings (via Buffalo) - Robert Hainsey OT Notre Dame 

• Another cap casualty this offseason with the lowering cap could be the Vikings solid left tackle Riley Reiff. He is one of the lower end solid starters, but it will still be hard for the Vikings to replace him. Maybe some depth competition like Hainsey who is another high floor former Fighting Irish blocker in this class who can develop into a starter. At the very least he gives them a reliable swing tackle to depend on if a starter goes down. 

126. Green Bay Packers - Ben Cleveland OG Georgia 

• The Packers will be seeing two of their starting linemen Corey Linsley and Lane Taylor hitting free agency. I would suspect that Linsley will be back as one of the best centers in the league, but Taylor may be harder and less needed to be brought back as just an average guard. Cleveland is a nice prospect to find here with his technique and size that allows him to anchor very well against bigger defenders. His high floor and quick starting ability should appeal to the Packers who are in win now mode. 

127. Kansas City Chiefs - Rodarius Williams CB Oklahoma State

• I know that the Chiefs o-line garnered a lot of headlines with how poor they played in the Super Bowl. However, did anyone notice that their corners could not slow down the Buc methodical passing attack. They were also nonexistent during Leonard Fournette’s touchdown run. Adding a new corner who can start right away like Williams here should be a nice addition to a lacking secondary on the outside. 

128. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Jamin Davis LB Kentucky 

• Losing LaVonte David this offseason is a real possibility. The long time Buc could be lured away by a big deal to bring his talents elsewhere. They had to have seen it coming after planning ahead and bringing in Devin White a few years ago. They still would benefit finding another depth linebacker who can develop into a starter alongside White. Even if they bring David back, adding a talented backup like Davis would be a wise move.
