With the draft in the books time to go back and do a wrap up of how teams made out. I might be a bit of a harsh critic to the top 3 round picks, but that is where you need to hit in the draft to be successful. Sure most of the league is 4th rounders and later, but any that turn into Pro Bowlers or All-Pro players is mostly out of luck. So without further adieu, the Tennessee Titans where I am not sure Mike Vrabel knew he would be on camera during the draft.

1 (29) - Isaiah Wilson OT Georgia - B

2 (29) - Kristian Fulton CB LSU - C.....edited to a B

3 (29) - Darryton Evans RB Appalachian St - C+.......edited to a D-

This was not a bad draft, but regardless of who they took I think they lost the off season by overpaying for Ryan Tannehill. Granted, when healthy he is actually a fine, but I think his health is what will make or break them this year. Hopefully he does move the ball down field more than he did in the playoffs too. I did not mind the Wilson pick despite it being a tad bit of a reach. In their defense they had a huge need for a new right tackle after losing Jack Conklin. Other than that, a quarterback, and a corner they really had no other blaring needs. At that point of the draft, who knows if there was going to be a run in the 2nd round and they were right. Now I would prefer Josh Jones, due to his upside to eventually being a very good left tackle, but he did not fit as well at right tackle as Wilson. Had Wilson stayed in school, proven himself at left tackle with Andrew Thomas gone he probably would have been selected higher. Granted, now he looks like a genius since who knows if there will be a college season anyways. He is a talented blocker and has a lot of experience as a run blocker which will fit very well in their offense. I initially hated the Fulton pick, since I do not see a ton of upside there as he seems like a dime a dozen non tackling and extreme chance taker at the corner spot. However, the value is fine since to me he is a better prospect than Arnette and Igbigohene who both went in the first round. He did go about where I thought he would and he does bring a lot of youthful upside to their veteran secondary. I worry he will end up like another Adoree Jackson with his athletic upside, but never really develops into anything. Evans is a nice back, but I do not see him being much of a compliment to take carries away from Derrick Henry. Nor do I see him being the long term answer when Henry does move on after this season. He is a bit of a smaller back with some nice pass catching skills, but no true explosion or high upside to his running style. I think he was a reach and with how few backs went off the board I would not be surprised if they could have gotten him after the draft. This was a safe group of players and I am not sure it will be enough to help the Titans to keep ahead of the Texans or Colts.

5 (29) - Larrell Murchinson DT N.C. State - B

7 (10) - Cole McDonald QB Hawaii - C

7 (29) - Chris Jackson S Marshall - D

I mean normally I have not been a fan of this recent regime's draft picks, but to be honest some like Harold Landry have surprised me a ton. I do not see anyone from this class really surprising me. To me all should play just as well as I expect them to. Wilson will be a nice right tackle eventually, Fulton will be an average corner, and Evans will be a journey man back at some point. Murchinson is a nice pick to replace the foolishly traded for a 7th rounder Jurrell Casey. He has a lot of upside, but needs to be coached up into proper technique. That is one area that Mike Vrabel has done well with since he began in Tennessee. Pairing him with Jeffrey Simmons should give them a nice young duo to build with moving forward in the front of their defense. McDonald was a nice pick, but I would rather find a veteran to back up Tannehill who's injuries have always been the biggest reason for him not being successful. If Tannehill goes down I am not sure a rookie 7th round pick can step in right away, especially with limited practices this summer. Jackson seems like a throw away pick and with so few of them, they could have done better. Jackson will be a special teamer and depth option behind sneaky great Kevin Byard and Kenny Vacarro who are two strong starters. Comparing this draft to that of the Colts' or even the Texans' classes I think were better groups of players. None of these guys wow me and I do not think any are special enough to stand out on their steady roster. The Titans are just going to continue to be the most boring team in the league. This draft gets a very blah B- and could go worst if they find a way to not be able to use Evans much like they did with Dion Lewis who was a better athlete.
