2021 NFL Draft - Post Wild Card

First Round

1. Jacksonville Jaguars - Trevor Lawrence QB Clemson

• This is pretty much a locked pick at this point. Unlike most I am actually intrigued about bringing in Urban Meyer who has been one of the best play callers in football history. Yes he has health issues and yeah he never really had to coach through diversity. However, there is no other offensive mind I would trust to get the most out of Lawrence than a coach like Meyer. I felt like Lawrence was maybe held back by Clemson’s offense which seemed more willing to feature Travis Etienne than Lawrence at times. My only issue with Lawrence has been the times he failed to matchup against the better teams in the playoffs the last two seasons. Unlike Fields who seemed to relish the competition, Lawrence seemed to shrink under the bright lights. People have suggested he’s the next Andrew Luck in terms of sure things, but I think he’s closer to Matt Ryan talent wise than Luck who carried an okay Stanford program during his college career.

2. New York Jets - Justin Fields QB Ohio State 

• There’s an argument to be made that keeping Sam Darnold may be the better move, but to me that’s only if someone offers a bounty to move up here to take Fields. I hate when new coaches are forced to be miracle workers with the previous regimes' quarterbacks. It’s unfair to the coach like we have seen in Chicago with Matt Nagy. It’s also unfair to a quarterback being forced to work with a coach who does not want him. I still think Darnold can play, but a new home will most likely be better for him to start fresh. While people were down on Fields he does show up in big games and plays with a lot of grit. My only question is what does he do great or what trait of his is special in terms of arm talent or athleticism. He’s not the biggest and does not have the biggest arm. Fields does throw a pretty ball with a lot of accuracy and clearly has a lot of poise. I think he can work in the NFL, but then again he still has the stigma of being an Ohio State quarterback. Which has a very poor track record of success in the NFL.

3. Miami Dolphins (via Houston) - Penei Sewell OT Oregon 

• The prospect of being able to rejoin DeVonta Smith with Tua Tagovailoa is going to be a strong one. However, I would implore them to improve the blocking in front of Tua. They did bring in Austin Jackson and Robert Hunt from last year’s draft, but neither seems to be ready to be stout contributors on the line. I know for a fact Sewell will be a great blindside protector for Tagovailoa on day one. It may take a bit as Sewell will have to play right tackle to do that for the lefty Tua, but it should not be that hard. Funny enough they got this pick from the Laremy Tunsil trade to only get another tackle who seems likely to be a better player right away than Tunsil who took a bit to turn into the solid blocker he is.

4. Atlanta Falcons - Ja’Marr Chase WR LSU

• I love how everyone is just jettisoning quarterbacks left and right, but fail to always see how hard it would be to do that logistically. Sure whoever comes in at GM and coach in Atlanta would want to start fresh at quarterback. Just tell me how you are going to move Matt Ryan and his massive contract in a year when the cap space is going down. I am sure many teams would take him at a discounted price if the Falcons eat most of his salary, but then what’s the bonus of trading Ryan if you do not get at least a first round pick back. If you ask me, Ryan is still a top 10 quarterback in this league and if they can land a good coach I feel like this could be a quick turnaround. They certainly need to turn the defense around, but at this juncture of the draft there really is not a top five defender in the draft. While I doubt they can move Matt Ryan I do think moving Julio Jones is a much more capable endeavour. Chase and DeVonta Smith will be jockeying for the top receiver in the class all the way up to the draft. I think Smith is the cleaner prospect, but I think Chase does offer the higher upside as the bigger and more athletic receiver. He could also be able to replicate Jones' production better than Smith since Chase is compared very well to Jones due to their similar play styles.

5. Cincinnati Bengals - DeVonta Smith WR Alabama 

• Personally, I think if Sewell is off the board here the Bengals should move down. They have no bigger need this year than to find better blockers to protect Joe Burrow when he returns from his ACL tear. The unfortunate part is the Bengals never move in the draft and I doubt that changes here for one of the worst run franchises in the league. If they stay here they could be tempted by Micah Parsons to help their defense, but I feel like they will force a lot of picks to help out Burrow. They did find a nice option in Tee Higgins last year coupled with the emerging Tyler Boyd in the slot they could probably withstand A.J. Green leaving this offseason. However, in Zac Taylor’s heavy and high volume passing attack adding a talent like DeVonta Smith could give them a lethal trio of receivers to attack defenses with. All three receivers are interchangeable where all three are comfortable outside or in the slot. Funny enough that the Falcons take Chase and the Bengals take Smith after both teams took Julio Jones and A.J. Green way back in the day. Both will be happy with their receivers here.

6. Philadelphia Eagles - Micah Parsons LB Penn State

• I think it’s a toss up here for the Eagles if both top receivers are off the board here. They can easily make an argument for selecting either Parsons or Patrick Surtain II with this pick. Both would help their mediocre and ancient defense immediately. I would honestly lean towards Surtain with how much more valuable good corners are, but if Parsons lights up the Combine I doubt he falls too far in the draft. He has the feel of one of those game changing linebackers who can anchor a defense with his high IQ, amazing athleticism, and speed. His tackling is high end and to top it off he can cover with the best of them in the open field. I know off ball linebackers’ stock have dropped a bit over the years. We have still seen guys like Devin White, Roquan Smith, Leighton Vander Esch, and soon Isaiah Simmons who were all taken high and are now key components to their respective defenses. The Eagles have been in need of a talented linebacker to man the middle of their defenses for some time now and Parsons would be a great prospect to do so.

7. Detroit Lions - Zach Wilson QB BYU

• I think the Lions are in the same boat as the Falcons where it will be harder than expected to move on from Matthew Stafford than people have suggested. However, I think they are more ready to move on from Stafford who has never been a true “carry you to victory” type quarterback and has for the most part had an anonymous career up in Detroit. They might not be moving off of Stafford right away with his salary cap hit if they cut him or trade him, but I think now is as good a time as any to find an heir apparent. Maybe it will even spark a fire under Stafford who seems too comfortable at his position as the starter for the Lions. I am not the highest on Wilson since he also does not have a flawless or amazing trait to help him stand out. He did have a great season this year, but it was without a doubt against some pretty soft competition for the most part. I feel like his style of play does fit in the modern day NFL with his mobility and ability to play a bit of backyard football outside of the pocket. To me he looks like a smaller version of Carson Wentz, which is fine for the Lions here in need of a spark.

8. Carolina Panthers - Patrick Surtain II CB Alabama 

• I think people are way too quick to pull the rug out on Teddy Bridgewater here. He landed with a new franchise, with a rookie head coach, in a pandemic with no offseason to work with, and was without his best weapon Christian McCaffrey for most of the year. Even with all that against him he still had a very nice season for a team many thought would compete for the top pick in the draft. With a full offseason I can see him making this team sneaky tough to go up against. Instead of taking a quarterback here I would bring in a true shutdown corner in a division with guys like Mike Evans, Antonio Brown, Michael Thomas, Calvin Ridley, and Ja’Marr Chase (in this mock) in their division to compete with. Surtain was certainly well coached by his father to never look over his skis out in coverage and is always well prepared each game. He looks like a finished product, which is the only complaint I have about him, but he looks like a guy who can come in right away and be a true blanket corner.

9. Denver Broncos - Trey Lance QB North Dakota State

• This has to be one of the worst landing spots for Lance in my opinion. With his lack of experience having played only one season in college he would be better off landing somewhere he can sit behind a veteran and learn. If he gets picked by the Broncos he will not only not be afforded a veteran to learn from, but he will be expected to compete with incumbent Drew Lock. Which, would inevitably go to Lance who is the more buttoned up player who looks to have no maturity issues like Lock possesses. I love Lance and see him as the second best quarterback talent in this draft. In terms of his size, mobility, accuracy, and arm strength. He also has a ton of experience in a pro offense with great coaching at North Dakota State that translates very well in the NFL. The only issue really is his one year of starting experience due to the FCS canceling their season this year. If brought along correctly he could turn into the next Mahomes in my opinion.

10.   Dallas Cowboys - Gregory Rousseau DE Miami 

• The Cowboys need to find a way to generate more of a pass rush this offseason. I was extremely disappointed with the highly paid DeMarcus Lawrence this year who only racked up five sacks this season, which is the same amount Aldon Smith landed after being out of football for five seasons. It will be hard to move on from Lawrence who is still owed a lot more money, but maybe he can be motivated to play better with a more talented running mate across from him. Rousseau to me is a similar style player to Lawrence, but has a lot more speed and explosive talent off the edge. I thought it was head scratching for Rousseau to opt out in a season where Miami had a lot of prime time games and talent across the d-line to help his draft stock. It would have also helped prove he is more than just a one year wonder after having the second most sacks in the country behind Chase Young in 2019. That being said he is still the best pass rusher in the class and should be a nice pick for a team who is willing to take the risk on him and his immense upside.

11.   New York Giants - Kyle Pitts TE Florida 

• The Giants could reach a bit of a take Jaylen Waddle here, but I would be worried about his injury history after they just dealt with guys like Sterling Shepard and OBJ over the years with the same issues. Instead, I think taking a tight end like Kyle Pitts here could be a sneaky great fit for Daniel Jones who is still learning on the job it feels like. He loves throwing to Evan Engram who is a fine athlete, but he has some of the worst hands in the league in my opinion. His mental lapses have cost them a few wins this year when he failed to pull in a few 3rd down passes to end some games this year. Maybe Joe Judge who comes from New England can do what his mentor did and deploy a lethal tight end tandem to attack defenses. Pitts to me is probably the best athlete in the draft at the skill position spot, but he falls behind the receivers due to teams overlooking tight ends. To me Pitts could be the next Antonio Gates with his similar skill set, athleticism, and even getting the same coaching from Gates’ former college coach while at Florida. They might not have been able to steal Chase or Smith who could fall out of the top 10, but they come away with a great consolation prize here with Pitts.

12.   San Francisco 49ers - Caleb Farley CB Virginia Tech 

• If any team could be willing to pry Matt Ryan away from Atlanta I think it would be the 49ers where Kyle Shanahan coached him up to his MVP season a few years ago. However, until something like that happens I could also see them reach on a quarterback like Mac Jones or Kyle Trask here. They really are just one solid quarterback away from reentering their names to the Super Bowl contender list next season. Maybe they cross their fingers and hope Jimmy G can stay healthy. However, at this juncture I think taking a blue chip talent like Farley at corner would be better for the team than reaching on a quarterback. In a division where they need to compete with D.K. Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, DeAndre Hopkins, Robert Woods, and Cooper Kupp they need to have multiple great corners behind their excellent defensive line. Farley was a former quarterback in high school turned receiver his freshman year to becoming a corner last year. He opted out which may drop his stock a tad, but he is still an athletic specimen with huge upside at one of the most important positions in the NFL. He would immediately be entered as the 49ers number one corner next year with Richard Sherman likely out after his contract is up this offseason. 

Last Week’s Pick: Caleb Farley CB Virginia Tech 

13.   Los Angeles Chargers - Kwity Paye DE Michigan 

• The Chargers could be in a nice spot here with their picks of blue chip players who can drop out of the top 10 with teams reaching for quarterbacks. With Justin Herbert squarely set as their franchise quarterback they can just sit back and load up the roster to go to battle with the Chiefs. As for the aforementioned Chiefs and Patick Mahomes the best way to help out Herbert against him is by getting after the NFL’s current MVP. They of course still have Joey Bosa who does a great job at that, but Melvin Ingram who will be a free agent this offseason will leave a big hole on the other side of the defensive line. After paying Bosa a truck load of money, I am not sure they have enough to toss some more at Ingram who deserves a big pay day as well. Paye is a steadily rising prospect, but I still see him as the best option among a weak group of second tier pass rushers behind Gregory Rousseau. He does possess a unique blend of size, speed, and power that could allow his team to move him around on the defensive line depending on the situation. I think he has a very high floor along with a high motor that should help him not become a bust in the NFL.

14.   Minnesota Vikings - Mac Jones QB Alabama 

• The Vikings taking a quarterback here would certainly be surprising, but not a totally shocking one in my opinion. After a very down season I think doMike Zimmer and company would rather have a back up plan behind Kirk Cousins than continue to have their jobs tied to his mediocrity. Sure their defense took a step back, but they had such big turnover there that it was going to be tough to overcome in a year with no offseason. I am not sure if Mac Jones is an upgrade over Cousins with his lack of mobility. He does offer upside and hope as a new quarterback who can spark this offense led by Dalvin Cook. If Jones can come in and not turn the ball over as much as Cousins that alone would be an upgrade. Jones to me has a ton of poise having to come in off the bench over the years for Tua and with his first full season under center he looked in total control. It will be interesting to see if he can succeed away from Alabama’s loaded roster.

15.   New England Patriots - Jaylen Waddle WR Alabama 

• I am not sure if Belichick has the willingness to groom a young quarterback at this point in his career. Instead, I think they could be in the hunt for a veteran like Carson Wentz or even a reunion with Jimmy G makes sense. Also even if they bring in a rookie qb he will still face an uphill battle due to their lack of weapons. Maybe they draft a young qb on Day 2 and take a blue chip receiver here instead. If Kyle Pitts is still on the board I can see them jumping all over him, but landing a speedster like Waddle here is just what they need. He will give him that explosive playmaking ability they have been dying for in New England.

16.   Arizona Cardinals - Christian Darrisaw OT Virginia Tech 

• It was odd seeing Kyler Murray taking so many clean shots towards the end of the season and you could clearly see it affect his play down the stretch. It seems like teams figured out how to pin him in the pocket and take away his escape ability that makes him so dangerous. Outside of an okay D.J. Humphries, the Cardinals offensive line, could really use multiple upgrades. There is some hope last year’s 3rd rounder Josh Jones could step up at right tackle, but with a win now roster I would not hold my breath. Darrisaw is an immediate upgrade over both Humphries and Jones in my opinion. He offers a boat load of upside as a big and athletic blocker for whoever drafts him. I think he can also offer some versatility kicking inside as a more raw talent that can be molded to wherever you need him.

17.   Las Vegas Raiders - Jeremiah Owusu- Koramoah LB Notre Dame

• The Raiders whole draft this season should be dedicated to the defense to help slow down the talented quarterbacks in their division. If they ever want to sniff the playoffs they must do a better job keeping Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert in check. They did just over spend on guys like Corey Littleton and Nick Kwiatkowski this past offseason, but neither played as well as they did with their previous teams. More likely than not both were products of their great defenses with the Rams and Bears than anything. Anyways Owusu-Koramoah is flying up boards with how fast and instinctive he is at the linebacker position. He should be a nice upgrade over both veterans for the Raiders and give them a guy who can anchor the defense.

18.   Miami Dolphins - Rashod Bateman WR Minnesota 

• I think there will be a big concerted effort by the Dolphins to load up on offense to see what they have with Tua Tagovailoa before they decide to move off of him or not. They have two solid receivers in Preston Williams and DeVante Parker, but neither are healthy enough to be relied on each week to show up. I am not the biggest fan of Bateman’s, but I doubt he falls out of the top 20 of the draft with teams overvaluing receivers lately. To me he is a great deep threat and red zone target with his length and body control. However, I have concerns if he has the quickness or great speed to create separation with defenders. I would not be surprised if he was a rapid bust in the NFL like so many other first round receivers before him.

Last Week’s Pick: Travis Etienne RB Clemson

19.   Washington Football Team - Jaycee Horn CB South Carolina 

• I know they should probably be thinking quarterback here, but I think finding one on Day 2 is possible if they keep Alex Smith. Smith to me has proven he can still be a capable starter if healthy and he is still a pretty good mentor to younger quarterbacks besides the immature Dwayne Haskins. In any case, their secondary needs a lot of work and they could easily take a corner here to play across from the inconsistent Kendall Fuller. Horn is another son of a former Pro Bowler and much like Surtain looks to be ready for the bright lights of the NFL. He actually possesses a lot of the same traits that Stephon Gilmore showed during his time at South Carolina. Like Gilmore he has unique length, strength, and speed to be a difficult corner to get away from. Adding him to their secondary should arguably make Washington one of the more dangerous teams to go against.

20.   Chicago Bears - Wyatt Davis OG Ohio State

• Maybe they move up for a quarterback here, but I doubt there's just too many holes to fill on the offensive line and receiver group for them to lose picks. More than likely they will be in on a buy low veteran who can be out there this offseason as they try to move on from the pedestrian Mitch Trubisky. One way to help out their new quarterback is by giving him better blockers. There had been a whole at right guard for a long time now and Davis could step in right away to fill the opening. He is a safe immediate starter in this class who should be ready to contribute at a high level right away for any team that drafts him. Adding him would give Chicago one of the best interior lines with Davis, Cody Whitehair, and James Daniel. 

• Last Week’s Pick: Sam Cosmi OT Texas

21.   Indianapolis Colts - Joseph Ossai OLB Texas

• I may be on my own, but I’m more in the camp that Phillip Rivers returns rather than retires or leaves Indy. Barring a trade for Carson Wentz it does make the most sense. In his one season in Indy Rivers did really elevate the roster and gave them a real fighting chance against a tough Bills squad in their Wild Card matchup. If Rivers is back I think they should look to add a talented pass rusher to help out their solid back end of their defense. Especially if they lose Matt Eberflus if he takes a head coaching job. He was able to scheme up pressure, but without him a talent like Ossai who can be a consistent pass rusher would be a more ideal option. Ossai certainly fits the versatile linebacker role they look for on defense and his upside is also something they have been looking for on defense since Chris Ballard’s took the GM role for Indy. 

• Last Week’s Pick: Joseph Ossai OLB Texas

22.   Tennessee Titans - Zaven Collins OLB Tulsa

• Not only are they divisional rivals, but both the Colts and Titans have real issues getting after the quarterback. Both should be looking at fixing that issue in the draft this season. Certainly the Titans more so than the Colts who still have pretty good linebackers. The Titans have Super Bowl aspirations and a win now roster that needs to put better pressure on Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes if they want to get there. Collins is a very similar high upside, versatile, and athletic linebacker like Ossai who went a pick before him. There is also Georgia’s Azeez Ojulari who is the third in a group of very similar linebackers. It will be interesting to see where they all land in the draft. 

• Last Week’s Pick: Zaven Collins OLB Tulsa

23.   New York Jets (via Seattle) - Travis Etienne RB Clemson

• The Jets end up with a much more favorable pick after Seattle’s collapse towards the end of the year. Either way I think the pick would make a lot of sense if it was a running back whether it was this high or later in the first round. I really do not think you could go wrong with either Etienne here or Najee Harris in the first round. The preferred top back will be Etienne who is a true dual threat back in every sense of the term. He will finally stabilize a lethargic running game behind a young Justin Fields and take a lot of pressure off of the rookie signal caller. I know taking running backs this high is not envogue, but the Jets have the draft capital and cap space to do this sort of move with their talentless offense. 

• Last Week’s Pick: Rashawn Slater OL Northwestern

24.   Pittsburgh Steelers - Kyle Trask QB Florida

• Sure Big Ben piled up the yardage towards the end of their Wild Card loss to the Browns, but the game was over from the get go from his poor interceptions. He seemingly could not spot the defending linebackers if his life depended on it last night. No doubt Big Ben will be a Hall of Famer at some point, but with their poor cap situation and a big free agent class of talent leaving now is as good of a time as ever to rebuild. No other quarterback in this class reminds me of Big Ben more than Kyle Trask who is an old school bigger quarterback who operates primarily from the pocket. He possesses great poise, and has great accuracy on his passes. Trask might be a late bloomer, but I think he should do well in the NFL depending on where he lands.

• Last Week’s Pick: 

25.   Jacksonville Jaguars (via Los Angeles (R)) - Rashawn Slater OL Northwestern

• The Jags are in a weird spot here with what they really need to help out this roster. I honestly would lean towards looking at helping out their defense, but when you draft a new quarterback you normally find someone to help him on offense. Which leaves me in a conundrum here where they actually have a fine receiver group of D.J. Chark, Laviska Shenault Jr, and others who will be just fine to start Lawrence’s career. Then could they look to upgrade the offensive line where Cam Robinson, Jawaan Taylor, and Andrew Norwell highlight a solid offensive line. I guess they could go with another versatile blocker here like Slater to maybe fill in at the other guard spot or center where they could look to upgrade this offseason. I always think finding quality depth along the offensive line is a big key to success in the NFL where it’s rare to have the same five guys start every game of the year. Slater is a versatile blocker who is gaining a lot of buzz without even playing this season. He is a bit of a tweener so it will be interesting to see where they have him at the next level. 

Last Week’s Pick: Rashod Bateman WR Minnesota 

26.   Cleveland Browns - Eric Stokes CB Georgia 

• The Browns have a fantastic pass rush and defensive line that is stout against the run. However, behind them the rest of the defense is a tad shaky especially in their secondary. Hopefully it gets a jolt of energy with the returns of Denzel Ward, Greedy Williams, and Grant Delpit who all missed chunks or all of the season. The issue with that wishful thinking is the fact that neither Ward or Williams have ever been able to stay healthy throughout their careers. While Delpit has still not played in the NFL missing his rookie season due to injury. All in all, if I were the Browns I would certainly look to invest in the secondary to better compete against the high powered offenses in Buffalo and Kansas City if they wish to go deep in the playoffs. Stokes brings a lot more size to a smaller defensive back group and adds some physicality to their corner group. He is a solid corner who has good quickness for a bigger corner, but still needs work with his ball skills.

27.   Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Sam Cosmi OT Texas

• Donovan Smith is one of the league’s worst left tackles and has been for quite some time. They did an excellent job replacing another disappointing tackle Demar Doctson with Trystan Wirfs. However, despite being a top 15 pick, Wirfs seems destined to stay as a power blocker on the right side of the line. He still lacks the quickness and technique to be a high end pass blocker on the blindside. No worries since this class is a sneaky strong one along the offensive line. A talent like Cosmi could slip down the boards a bit due to his lack of over the top physicality. He is an excellent athlete at the tackle spot who has always been a strong pass blocker with his quickness and footwork. The biggest issue is his lack of strength and physicality in the run game. He has gotten stronger over the years and seemed to have really gotten better in that department this year prior to opting out of the end of the season. Brady needs a better blindside blocker to keep him upright and protected in what could be his final season.

Last Week’s Pick: Jalen Mayfield OT Michigan 

28.   Baltimore Ravens - Alijah Vera-Tucker OG USC 

• The Ravens rushing attack has not been as dominant as it was last year and for some reason no one has a clue as to why. However, if you ask me it clearly has to do with Marshal Yanda retiring this past offseason. For the better part of a decade he has been a dominant blocker on the inside for the Ravens and without him they lack his presence there. It also hurts that Ronnie Staley is out for the year with an ACL injury, but even before that they struggled to get a consistent rushing attack. Sure they have gotten better down the stretch, but it’s still not as strong as last year. One way to get back to that dominance is bringing in a new guard to help out on the interior of the line. Vera-Tucker is also a very strong pass blocker who has gotten stronger and better in the run game. If they can also find a way to keep Lamar Jackson comfortable in the pocket that’s even better.

29.   New Orleans Saints - Terrace Marshall WR LSU 

• The Saints could certainly also be in the market to find a new young quarterback to replace the likely to retire Drew Brees. Unfortunately, I am sure most of the league knows it and I doubt they will let them get their guy so easily. In all likelihood they will need to move up to find their new quarterback or bring in a bridge quarterback to hold them over until they do. If they stay here I think finding a new receiver has to be high on their list of needs. When Michael Thomas is out they have no other outside threats to move this offense besides a trick play with Taysom Hill a few times a game. There also has been a bit of a disconnect between Thomas and the equally combative Sean Payton. At some point both sides will probably need to be separated sooner or later. In any case, until that happens bringing in another big play receiver like Marshall could really fit nicely in Payton’s offense no matter who is under center. The local product is a major height-weight-speed workout warrior type prospect who is also a very solid all around receiver on the field. His stock should rise after what should be a very good Combine showing for him.

30.   Buffalo Bills - Najee Harris RB Alabama

• I think this is a rare draft that lacks a lot of high end talents at other more valuable positions that can see two running backs sneak into the first round. The Bills could also use a pass rusher here, but the position is deep there on Day 2 that could have them wait to fix that issue on their roster. What has not gone well for them has been finding a dominant runner on Day 2 with guys like Devin Singletary and Zach Moss both disappointing thus far into their young careers. If the Bills can create a more balanced offense where teams have to worry about Josh Allen and a talented running attack with Najee Harris their offense might become near unstoppable. I always thought it was strange for such a talented back out of Alabama like Harris to fall through the cracks leading up to the season. Now down the stretch he looks to be about the most dominant back in college right now. He is a do it all back who is a better pass catcher when given more opportunities to do so. To me he is a bit of a combination of both Derrick Henry and Josh Jacobs, which is terrific for today’s offense.

31.   Green Bay Packers - Alex Leatherwood OL Alabama 

• The Packers fans and media alike will want the Packers to draft a new receiver to help out Aaron Rodgers. However, I think they should focus on upgrading the line in front of him. Especially, with them being set to lose Corey Linsley, and Lane Taylor to free agency. While they might be without David Bakhtiari for most of next season after he tore his ACL so late in the year. One way to lighten the loss of all those guys is finding a new blocker or two and it always helps if they are versatile. I think Leatherwood could be a great fit here with his experience playing all across the offensive line. He could fill in at left tackle while Bakhtiari gets healthy and when he returns Leatherwood could easily slide over to guard, right tackle, or center wherever else they have an opening. I know a weapon is more flashy than a blocker, but keeping Rodgers healthy and upright has to be a higher priority. If he is given just an ounce of extra time he is as deadly as it comes at shredding a defense.

32.   Kansas City Chiefs - Christian Barmore DT Alabama 

• Predicting Chiefs picks was always hard with Andy Reid often making out of the box draft picks, but it has gotten even harder with his security blanket Patrick Mahomes on board now. With Mahomes they can either reach on picks without worries that they will bust or they can reach on a need despite missing out on better prospects. Either way Mahomes helps erase those issues with how great he can be. I think some help on their defensive front makes a lot of sense with guys like Alex Okafor, Tanoh Kpassagnon, and Mike Pennel all headed for free agency. It also never really hurts having too many pass rushers on a team that can put up points with the best of them. Barmore is a high floor prospect who is along the same lines as guys like Jonathan Allen, Da’Ron Payne, Raekwon Davis, and Jarran Reed. He will work at the next level in all areas for what is a very solid defense in Kansas City.

33.  Jacksonville Jaguars - Derion Kendrick CB Clemson

• Adding C.J. Henderson alone would never be able to replace both Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye. More than likely he will not be as good as either in the near term. However, bringing in another corner to pair with him has to be high on their list of wants to help out their still solid defense. Kendrick is a former receiver who plays corner like a receiver always attacking the ball. He should be a priority pick on Day 2 if he falls out of the first round.

34.   New York Jets - Rondale Moore WR Purdue

• I actually think the Jets receiving corp is pretty solid with Denzel Mims, Jamison Crowder, and Breshad Perriman. All three do have some injury concerns so it’s understandable they want to bring in more talent. None of them have the explosive home run threat ability of Moore who would be a great addition to a young and improving offense. He would certainly be a nice little added wrinkle to their offense to help out Justin Fields’ transition to the NFL.

35.   Atlanta Falcons - Shaun Wade DB Ohio State

• The Falcons actually found a solid corner in A.J. Terrell who really started to find his groove down the stretch this year. He began the year very shaky, but he turned in a very respectable rookie season. However, they could still use more talent in their secondary to compete with the high powered offenses of the NFC South. Wade is an intriguing corner prospect who is most likely a better fit in the slot and at safety than he is as an outside corner. He possesses a bulldog mentality and great run support traits that should endear him in any locker room he joins.

36.   Miami Dolphins (via Houston) - Nick Bolton LB Missouri 

• The Dolphins brought in a ton of players on one year or short term deals this past offseason. So I would not be surprised if they go after a linebacker or pass rusher here. I would lean towards linebackers since guys like Kamu Grugier-Hill, Vince Biegel, and Elandon Roberts are all set to be free agents. I think Bolton who is a similar type prospect to Jordyn Brooks last year could sneak higher than expected come Draft Weekend. He is an athletic and talented coverage linebacker who would be perfect for today’s NFL where covering tight ends and slot receivers is a must for most off ball linebackers.

37.   Philadelphia Eagles - Jalen Mayfield OT Michigan 

• This Eagles team is a mess in the wake of firing Doug Pederson. Carson Wentz’ future up in the air. While most of the roster could use a lot of upgrades and youth moving forward. One big need is a new right tackle where Lane Johnson has not been able to stay healthy without the use of PEDs. Even if he is on the field, having a blocker who can flip inside like Mayfield would be a nice addition as he waits until he can go to the right tackle when Johnson goes down. Mayfield is a natural right tackle who is stout and strong in all areas. He does have the claim to fame as being one of the only blockers to slow down Chase Young in their matchups.

38.   Cincinnati Bengals - Creed Humphrey C Oklahoma 

• The Bengals would get a good grade here from me regardless of what blocker they take here. They are so desperate across the entire front to find better blockers for Joe Burrow that whoever is the best available here makes a lot of sense moving forward. Honestly, if 4 out of their 7 picks were blockers I would say that is a great draft. Humphrey will be a great center day one in front of Burrow giving him a great leader in the middle of the offensive line to lean on. The veteran Sooner has a ton of experience and very high IQ who can help call out blocking schemes for Burrow as the two grow together.

39.   Carolina Panthers - Dylan Moses LB Alabama 

• A second round quarterback makes sense here, but why waste a pick if they end up being a top 10 pick again next year if Teddy Bridgewater fails. Then they can take whoever they want next year and have a clean break in Bridgewater’s contract. Instead, they can solve a huge issue they had this year stopping the run. One way to help is finally bringing in a linebacker to try and replace Luke Kuechly. If any can do it, it’s the buy low candidate Moses who has had a down year post his ACL tear last year. Another year removed he could be a steal here with his high IQ.

40.   Denver Broncos - Azeez Ojulari OLB Georgia 

• The Broncos invested heavily on the offensive side of the ball for the past few drafts so after taking their rookie quarterback Trey Lance they are a rare team that does not have to pair him with an offensive playmaker or blocker to help out. Instead, they could find a new pass rusher if they end up letting Von Miller go this offseason. It does help that they have Bradley Chubb there to help lighten the loss, but in a division with Herbert and Mahomes multiple great pass rushers are needed. Ojulari possesses a ton of upside as a young, lanky, and springy pass rusher who can bend very naturally around the edge.

41.   Detroit Lions - Chris Olave WR Ohio State

• The Lions could be without their top receiver next year Kenny Golladay, but I doubt they do not keep him around on a franchise tag at the very least. Even if he is back they could use another option across from him besides Marvin Jones who feels like a cap casualty this offseason for the Lions. One intriguing receiver in this draft is Chris Olave who has a very high floor. He might not have immense upside as a perfect number two option, but he should be an immediate contributor as a reliable slot receiver.

42.   New York Giants - Jaelen Phillips DE Miami 

• The Giants could use some more talent up front to put pressure on opposing quarterbacks. They have had a need to find a more natural pass rusher off the edge, but they will also need some more depth options along the interior. Especially, if they lose either Dalvin Tomlinson or Leonard Williams this offseason. Phillips has really emerged with Rousseau opting out allowing the former UCLA stand out more opportunities to shine. He would be a very nice piece to add to an otherwise improving defense.

43.   San Francisco 49ers - Jamie Newman QB Georgia 

• I would not force a quarterback in the first round if the 49ers miss out on a veteran. With how good of a quarterback coach Kyle Shanahan is, drafting one on Day 2 still offers a ton of hope and upside. One very intriguing name will be Jamie Newman who could have been a first rounder had he stayed at Georgia proving he could play in a pro system after running the option at Wake Forest. He has great size, athleticism, and arm strength making people see a Cam Newton lite type quarterback. In the hands of Shanahan he could really turn into quite a gem in the 2nd round.

44.   Dallas Cowboys - Liam Eichenberg OT Notre Dame 

• The end of the line is near for Tyrone Smith who was at one time one of the best left tackles in the league. However, the past few years or so staying healthy has been a real huge struggle for him. With a tight salary cap they could look to let him go to lighten the cap hit a bit next year. Eichenberg is a high floor talent who should be able to start right away despite being a second round pick. He comes out of Notre Dame well coached and prepared for the NFL. The Cowboys could certainly use him at either tackle spots.

45.   Jacksonville Jaguars (via Minnesota) - Brevin Jordan TE Miami 

• The Jags could use some more talent at the tight end position for their new franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence. It’s been a long while since Marcedes Lewis’ hayday that they have had a mismatch tight end in the middle of the field. Jordan is attempting to bring back the “Tight End U” moniker back for the Miami Hurricanes with his ability to be a dynamic pass catcher. He is a much better blocker than most pass catching tight ends as well. Lawrence will love seeing some size to a rather small receiving corp.

46.   New England Patriots - Pat Freiermuth TE Penn State

• More offensive firepower for a talentless Patriots passing attack. They did go heavy last year with tight ends bringing in Devin Asiasi and Dalton Keane, but I rarely saw either on the field. Belichick is not one to stop himself in the draft just because he drafted a certain position in a previous draft. One sneaky strong pick would be Freiermuth here who had a forgettable season for a bad Penn State program this year. He played briefly before going out with a mystery injury, which I read into just saving himself for the pros. He has often been labeled as a mini Gronk so maybe he can fill Gronk’s shoes for the Patriots.

47.   Los Angeles Chargers - Trey Smith OL Tennessee

• The Chargers have three of their starting interior linemen hitting free agency with Mike Pouncey, Forrest Lamp, and Dan Feeney all hitting the open market. Hopefully Trai Turner who they traded for can stay healthy enough to take one of those roles, but that has been a tough issue for him to overcome. Bringing in a high caliber blocker like Trey Smith who was once a top 10 prospect prior to some blood clots could be a steal here. He has experience at both guard and tackle, but he should step in as a dominant guard on day one.

48.   Las Vegas Raiders - Carlos Basham DE Wake Forest

• The Raiders continue to fill in their defensive roster with more talented playmakers. They are in desperate need of a more consistent pass rush when going up against Mahomes and Herbert two times a year. There is still hope for Clellin Ferrell to turn the corner as a former top five pick, but I would not hold my breath on it. Maxx Crosby is a nice pass rusher, but he is more of a rotational player than a go to every down playmaker. Basham has the pedigree and I think people are sleeping on him due to his higher floor and lack of much more development. He should be an immediate impact wherever he lands.

49.   Arizona Cardinals - Asante Samuel Jr CB Florida State

• The Cardinals will be in the market for a new corner or two this offseason. With a lot of players on defense up for new deals like Patrick Peterson, De’Vondre Campbell, and Haason Reddick it will be interesting who they bring back. I would lean towards the two younger linebackers who offer a lot more upside. To me this is the end of the line for Peterson in Arizona after being a bit disgruntled a few seasons ago and not playing very well in general this season. Finding a cheaper and younger upgrade could be possible here with Asante Samuel Jr. Another corner with a Pro Bowl father that helped coach him up and prepare him for the NFL. Size is a little bit of an issue for him, which is why he slips in the draft a little bit.

50.   Miami Dolphins - Jay Tufele DT USC 

• The Dolphins brought in a few buy low candidates to help out their pass rush in Emmanuel Ogbah and Shaq Lawson. Both were solid, but still not overly great that would help slow down Josh Allen in their division. I had high hopes for Davon Godchaux in the middle, but his health has been a big issue over the years. If they can find a talent like Tufele who can be a key cog in the middle of Brian Flores’ defense that would be a great find. He is a whirlwind of energy and strength in the middle of the line with high end pass rushing prowess from the tackle spot. In a division with Allen, an incoming Justin Fields, and whoever the Patriots land, having a strong pass rush is a big need for the Dolphins.

51.   Washington Football Team - Kellen Mond QB Texas A&M 

• Washington should probably not reach on a quarterback in the first round, but I would not fault them for taking a shot on one on Day 2 or 3 to develop behind Alex Smith. Outside of injuries, I think Smith has done enough to remain as the starter in Washington until they find their true quarterback of the future. They have also shown to be capable of working with low end back ups as well if they have to in a pinch. Mond to me has a ton of skills and traits that has me believe he could be a really good quarterback at the next level. He has been compared to as a poor man’s Colin Kaepernick, which in this league that has embraced Kaepernick’s style of play is a great fit in the pros. Mond has shown to improve each season in college and it gives me hope that he can continue to do so in the pros.

52.   Chicago Bears - Kadarius Toney WR Florida 

• The Bears could certainly be looking at a quarterback here, but I really do not see any here that would surpass even Nick Foles who will still be on the roster next year. They could also use another blocker, but this is a deepish class of blockers so they can wait. What is not super deep this year is a receiver where they may have a huge need if Allen Robinson leaves this offseason. They found a terrific deep option in Darnell Mooney, but he lacks the quickness in the screen game that Matt Nagy loves to run. A talent like Toney who is a gadget type player who can be an explosive playmaker with the ball in his hands for a lackluster offense in need of guys who can generate quick touchdowns.

53.   Tennessee Titans - Amon-Ra St.Brown WR USC 

• Corey Davis is a soon to be free agent this offseason, but he could easily be brought back after his solid season this year. I would be hesitant to resign a guy who was really pedestrian until it was his contract year. He could easily revert right back to his lackluster ways. With so much money tied into the offense they could decide to let him go and see if they can luck out with another 2nd round receiver. St.Brown is a very solid all around receiver, which has been a common trend out of USC the past few seasons. Similar to the likes of JuJu Smith-Schuster, Michael Pittman, and Nelson Agholor he should be a very solid receiver at the next level.

54.   Indianapolis Colts - Dillon Radunz OT North Dakota State

• The Colts should always be ahead of the game when it comes to upgrading and developing their offensive line with how important it is to their success. Their elder statesman on the line Anthony Castonzo is a free agent after this season and has already been discussing retirement the past few years. Now is as good of a time as any to find a new option to protect Phillip Rivers or whoever is under center for Indy. Radunz is another Bison who lacks tape due to no season this year, but if he is able to attend the Senior Bowl and match up well with higher profile players his stock could really rise. Especially, since he ticks off all the boxes in terms of size, strength, and athleticism from the tackle position.

55.   Pittsburgh Steelers - Walker Little OT Stanford 

• The Steelers are going to have a tough offseason with guys like James Conner, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Ali Villanueva, Bud Dupree, and Matt Feiler are all going to be hitting the open market. It’s going to be tough to keep even one of those guys with their poor salary cap situation where they will be limited in their ability to make moves next year. It feels like a rebuild is imminent here. Little if not for injuries in 2019 that knocked him out for the year and then opting out this year he would have been able to push himself in the first round. That being said he was always seen as a high caliber blocker and could be an amazing value here finding a quality starting left tackle at the end of the 2nd round.

56.   Seattle Seahawks - Jayson Oweh DE Penn State

• The Seahawks defense did start rounding into form towards the end of the year, but with very limited picks they may have to stick to what they know best finding more defensive players. I would prefer them to find a blocker, running back, or corner here with their big needs there. However, a pass rusher is not far off that list despite L.J. Collier and others showing up. Oweh is an athletic freak who could easily fill the LEO backer role they had hoped Bruce Irvin would fill again. He would give them a very nice option to build around and develop for Pete Carroll on his defense.

57.   Los Angeles Rams - Hamilcar Rashed Jr OLB Oregon State

• As a Bears fan it really is annoying watching Leonard Floyd being used properly with the Rams and finally looking like the sack artist we all thought he would have been as a first rounder. Unfortunately, for the Rams they made him too good too fast with him being on a one year deal he will most likely find a bigger long term deal elsewhere. The Rams salary cap space is not the best with highly paid guys like Goff, Donald, and Ramsey let alone others on their roster. Rashed is a designated pass rusher type talent who can fly off the edge with great speed and quickness. He is very raw who needs to be developed more, but the Rams have proven to be pretty good developing pass rushers.

58.   Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Kenneth Gainwell RB Memphis 

• The Bucs should continue to load up around Tom Brady in what could be his final year in the league let alone Tampa. I would also suggest finding more defensive playmakers at corner or linebacker, but I think a more consistent pass catching running back would be a nice addition for Brady. He always loves dumping the ball off at a safety value underneath out of the backfield with Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones Jr all failing in that regard. Gainwell is built perfectly as a smallish pass catching back who could add a nice wrinkle to the Bucs offense.

59.   Baltimore Ravens - Rashad Weaver DE Pittsburgh 

• With three premier pass rushers Matt Judon, Tyus Bowser, and Yannick Ngakoue all hitting the open market this offseason the Ravens should certainly look at adding a new pass rusher or two. Especially, since I can see veteran Calais Campbell also retiring after having a long and great career. Overall, they need to get sharper in the pass rush if they want to slow down Mahomes, Allen, or now the emerging Herbert who all look to compete to become the AFC Champions. Weaver is a big, powerful, and versatile end who can rush standing up or with his hand in the dirt. He has the feel of a solid Ravens defender with his high IQ, instincts, and effort.

60.   Cleveland Browns - Trevon Moehrig S TCU 

• More help for the Browns secondary to be more dangerous in taking the ball away from opposing offenses. They could go with a pass rusher here, but I doubt they let Olivier Vernon go despite his injury with how well he played down the stretch this season. Finding a playmaker in the safety spot has been a big need despite taking Grant Delpit. Delpit was a bit of a fading star at LSU prior to being a 2nd round pick by the Browns so I would not be willing to just expect him to be a great player after missing all of his rookie year. Moehrig is the ideal ball hawking safety in the back of the defense who could be a steal here late in the 2nd round. Safeties are always overlooked in the draft and end up paying off pretty well in the end for whoever drafts them.

61.   New Orleans Saints - Cameron McGrone LB Michigan 

• I have no idea what the Saints could do here in the draft with no clear cut quarterback to take at either their first round or second round pick here. Maybe they do roll with Taysom Hill for a full season or find a stop gap option elsewhere. Instead, they could find a new linebacker to help anchor their defense alongside DeMario Davis. There has been a bit of a rotating door beside him for a long while now. McGrone is a sneaky good blitzing linebacker thanks to his quickness and instincts to avoid blockers. He is a bit undersized, but he is built very well to be a great three down linebacker.

62.   Buffalo Bills - Patrick Jones II DE Pittsburgh 

• The Bills need to find a way to create more pass rush if they want to be able to get past the Chiefs to the Super Bowl in what should be a Colts/Patriots type playoff rivalry in the AFC. Both teams have the firepower to put up points, but I give the edge to the Chiefs more complete defense. The Bills are very well schemed and coached by Sean McDermott, but they need more blue chip talent off the edge. Jones is a high floor, strong, and stout edge defender who can play the run and pass rush very well. He is a bit of a scheme specific edge rusher as a down base end, but he would fit Sean McDermott’s defense very well in that regard.

63.   Green Bay Packers - Daviyon Nix DT Iowa 

• Nope not a receiver again for the Packers who I think will be fine with Davante Adams, MVS, and Allen Lazard if they have to use that trio for another year. I bet they can bring in an A.J. Green, Allen Robinson, or T.Y. Hilton who will all be free agents. Instead, they can solve their biggest issue on defense and find a way to stop the run. Nix is a big and powerful tackle who can really push a pocket. He is also stout and strong in the run game. Pairing him with a healthy Kenny Clark in the middle could maybe finally solve their problem stopping the run.

64.   Kansas City Chiefs - Nico Collins WR Michigan 

• With Sammy Watkins and Demarcus Robinson both hitting free agency the Chiefs could be looking to bring in a new receiver or two to their talented offense. I also think Mecole Hardman’s lack of development and chemistry with Mahomes has to be a tad bit worrisome. They need a bigger receiver to diversify their offense and give them a better underneath option besides just Travis Kelce who is getting older. Collins is a big bully ball type of receiver who could be a nice jump ball target for Mahomes to work with in the red zone and over the middle of the field on 3rd downs.

Third Round

65.   Jacksonville Jaguars - Marvin Wilson DT Florida State

• The Jags could use more beef up front with their two slender pass rushers K'lavon Chaisson and Josh Allen. They have been in need of bulking upfront ever since they traded away Calais Campbell and let Malik Jackson walk. Wilson has a high pedigree and was once seen as a high first round prospect. He could be a really nice find here on Day 2 with his high end athletic profile.

66.   New York Jets - Tyson Campbell CB Georgia 

• The Jets feel like they are always in need of a new corner ever since Darrell Revis decided to stop playing well. In a division with a pass happy Josh Allen and hopefully improved Tua Tagovailoa the Jets certainly need to get better in the secondary. Campbell has all the tools, size, strength, and quickness to be a terrific corner. He just needs some refinement to get it all out of him.

67.   Houston Texans - Rodarius Williams CB Oklahoma State

• The Texans with so few picks are almost forced to get the best player available here with their first pick in the draft. It could be anything from a defensive back, pass rusher, running back, receiver, or blocker so your guess is as good as mine. Williams is a great fit for them with a huge need at corner. He is a very experienced and high floor player who can come in right away giving them very good starters snaps.

68.   Atlanta Falcons - Jevon Holland S Oregon 

• The Falcons got a good season out of Keanu Neal this season, but that’s a rare sight for the hard hitting safety. Ever since he entered the league staying healthy for a full season was difficult for him. Holland would be a terrific pairing for Neal who is typically an in the box safety. He is a much better center fielder type safety who can fly all over the field playing the ballhawking safety they could certainly use in their secondary.

69.   Cincinnati Bengals - Deonte Brown OG Alabama 

• The continuation of the Bengals overhaul of their offensive line continues. Sure finding a tackle would be more ideal, but it never hurts to have a strong interior line also. They found a great center in the 2nd round in Creed Humphrey and now grab a dominant guard in Brown. The Alabama product has a ton of experience and talent to contribute at a high level in all phases. Adding both to their line could really elevate the line quickly with their experience and high end talent.

70.   Philadelphia Eagles - Seth Williams WR Auburn 

• The Eagles could easily draft a receiver in the first round if DeVonta Smith or Ja’Marr Chase fall to them. Neither do so they may have to punt on a receiver until later in the draft. There is also a strong receiver class in free agency they could take advantage of. Williams to me had a down year, but in years prior he flashed as a very solid do it all wideout. I feel like he should be able to work as a very nifty receiver at the next level similar to Marvin Jones or Tyler Boyd.

71.   Denver Broncos - Paulson Adebo CB Stanford

• I think it’s wise for the Broncos to bring back Vic Fangio in what was a lost year with an immature quarterback and a ton of injuries across their roster. Two of those injuries being A.J. Bouye and Bryce Callahan who both were very poor even when they were on the field. Bouye ended up suspended for PEDs at the end of it all anyways. Fangio always loves his strong press man corners and one ideal fit would be the bigger Adebo.

72.   Detroit Lions - Andre Cisco S Syracuse 

• The Lions could always use more talent in their secondary. They attempted drafting Jeff Okudah high last year, but he certainly did not fulfill his high draft status in his rookie season. Tracy Walker is a nice safety, but he is a bit of a human missile style safety who always seems to put his body at risk. Cisco is a more centerfield type safety who can pair well with the run stuffer Walker. He is a much better playmaker on the ball and could help their defense over the top.

73.   Carolina Panthers - Jackson Carman OL Clemson 

• The Panthers actually got a steal when they flipped the oft injured Trai Turner for the less often injured Russell Okung. Surprisingly the veteran put together a healthy and very productive season. Unfortunately, he is a free agent and could choose to retire after a long solid career. Carman is not an ideal replacement at the left tackle spot with his shorter arms, but he has the ability and talent to be a versatile blocker. For the Panthers he could give left tackle a shot or more than likely help upgrade either guard spot where they could also use more talent.

74.   Washington Football Team (via San Francisco) - Josh Myers C Ohio State

• The Washington Football Team should make a big concerted effort this offseason to retool this offensive line. Alex Smith played well this season, but despite not playing chunks of the season until he started and missed time due to injury he was still one of the highest sacked quarterbacks in the league. They need to protect him better and finding a quality high end center like Myers is a great start. He should easily be able to anchor their offensive line moving forward.

75.   Dallas Cowboys - Paris Ford S Pittsburgh 

• The Cowboys have never really put much stock into safeties by not drafting or overpaying on one. However, I think they should at least look into replacing Xavier Wood who came out and publicly said he does not play hard on every down. That is an inexcusable statement by an NFL player and one that is league average at that. Ford should be able to push him for his job quickly with his high energy, high effort, and high end ball skills. He should finally give them a desperately needed playmaker in their secondary.

76.   New York Giants - Trey Hill C Georgia 

• The Giants offensive line is slowly getting there, but it’s still not ready to be a consistent front just yet. There is hope having both Andrew Thomas and Nate Solder at both tackle spots would help elevate the line. Along with the solid duo of Will Hernandez and Shane Lemieux at the guard spots. However, center is the missing piece to giving them at the very least high upside blockers at each spot. Hill is a grinder in the middle of the line blasting holes open in the run game and very solid in pass protection. He should be able to keep the pocket clean up front for the young Daniel Jones.

78.   Los Angeles Chargers - Levi Onwuzurike DT Washington

• The Chargers reached on Jerry Tillery a few drafts ago and brought in the aging Linval Joseph to pick up the slack left by the poor performing first rounder. They have been seeking an interior pass rusher to put the cherry on top of an otherwise very strong offensive line with Joey Bosa and now Kwity Paye at the bookends. Onwuzurike is a slighter tackle, but capitalizes on his smaller frame by maximizing his leverage and quickness to get by blockers. If he gets stronger he could really turn into one of the best finds in the draft.

79.   Minnesota Vikings - Joe Tryon OLB/DE Washington 

• The Vikings’ defense took a big step back this year from their previous lofty standards. Mostly due to the fact that their terrific pass rush duo of Danielle Hunter and Everson Griffen were both absent from it. Griffen is probably never returning after leaving as a free agent, but Hunter could if he can rehab what could be a sketchy neck surgery to come back from. Hunter was clearly at his best with Griffen across from him. Maybe they can find a replacement in Tryon who is an electric quick pass rusher off the edge. His technique needs a lot of work as a bit of a raw player, but he has massive upside moving forward.

80.   Arizona Cardinals - Victor Dimukeje OLB Duke 

• It’s hard to imagine that the Cardinals let Haasan Reddick go now after how well he played down the stretch, but there is a possibility they could with many other free agents on the docket this offseason. Even if he does return they always love strong linebacker play in the middle of their defense and De'Vondre Campbell is another soon to be free agent on their defense. Dimukeje is a solid high effort pass rusher with a lot of technique and experience. He lacks the explosive upside of a top pick, but he has the versatility to play off ball as well in this defense. His high floor has to be appealing to a team ready to win now.

81.   Las Vegas Raiders - Jordan Davis DT Georgia 

• The Raiders continue to load up their defense with more and more talent up front. They have to if they want to compete with the Chargers or Chiefs twice a year to make the playoffs. Their offense is actually pretty good with Carr, Jacobs, and Waller leading the way. Davis could be a great piece to stuff the run and push the pocket into the opposing quarterbacks. He has a very high floor in that regard and continues to build up on his strength to be a better pass rusher. I would love his grit and strength in the middle of an otherwise passive and smaller defense.

82.   Miami Dolphins - Dayo Odeyingbo DE Vanderbilt

• I just mentioned how they brought in buy low candidates last year at pass rusher like Lawson and Ogbah, but both are still towards the low end of every down pass rushers. Both are nice, but in a division with Josh Allen and now Justin Fields they could do a lot better. It’s also nice to have a rotation of guys to roll in there. Odeyingbo is an athletic freak of a talent who is rising up boards after a terrific season for Vanderbilt. He is a bigger defender who can be a versatile piece up front for coach Brian Flores.

83.   Washington Football Team - Daniel Faalele OT Minnesota

• Washington continues to go and improve their feeble offensive line with more talent. They sort of won that Trent Williams deal since he failed to play much for San Francisco like he normally does. However, they still have to find a tackle to replace their former All-Pro tackle. Faalele is a raw tackle who has a ton of athletic upside to be developed into a top notch left tackle. He falls a bit due to his lack of experience, but he is worth a chance somewhere on Day 3.

84.   Chicago Bears - Teven Jenkins OT Oklahoma State

• The Bears continue to also fix and retool a rather leaky offensive line. Charles Leno was one of the better left tackles in the league prior to his big contract extension. Ever since his play has severely dropped off in recent years. Bringing in a new tackle to push him and Bobbie Massie is really needed for this lacking offense. Jenkins is a signature blue collar and nasty blocker who has impressive size and quickness. He would help bring some attitude to a rather passive offensive line. 

Last Week’s Pick: Ian Book QB Notre Dame 

85.   Indianapolis Colts - Tylan Wallace WR Oklahoma State 

• The Colts could use some more offensive firepower for Rivers to work with if they hang onto him for another season or if they bring in Carson Wentz. Their once number one target T.Y. Hilton is a soon to be free agent and despite bringing in Michael Pittman they could still use a new receiver or two. Wallace is a terrific number two option who can attack the defense on every level. He sort of reminds me of fellow receiver prospect Seth Williams both are high floor talents who can fit as a quality receiver on most teams.

86.   Tennessee Titans - Quincy Roche OLB Miami 

• Doubling down on pass rushers in this draft should not be a surprising move for the Titans here. They desperately need to get after quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and others in the AFC if they want to reach the Super Bowl. They do bring in a talented upside pass rusher in Zaven Collins in the first round. Roche is the high floor talent who is a bit stiff, but has a lot of experience and tactician type talent. He should be a nice complimentary rotational type talent for the Titans. 

Last Week’s Pick: Rodarius Williams CB Oklahoma State

87.   New York Jets (via Seattle) - Hunter Long TE Boston College 

• The Jets should be looking into finding a new safety blanket for Justin Fields to work with on offense. They have been waiting for Chris Herndon to turn the corner and tap into his athletic upside at the tight end position for a while now. However, he continues to be dragged down by injuries and his lack of maturity. I would think they could use a tight end like Long who might not be the most athletic, but he certainly knows how to get open and displays very strong hands. He might be a sneaky solid pick to be found late on Day 2 or early on Day 3.

88.   Pittsburgh Steelers - Javonte Williams RB UNC 

• I think that James Conner is very low on their totem pole of free agents to be brought back this offseason. He is a very good back when healthy, but that is rare for him to do and this season he never seemed able to run consistently. I think he should get paid by some other team than a cap strapped Steelers franchise. It is also a lot easier to find a new back than most other positions. Williams is a sledgehammer of a back similar to Conner, but possesses a lot more wiggle and straight line speed. He is also a very adept pass catcher.

89.   Los Angeles Rams - Brock Purdy QB Iowa State

• The Rams have a very strong roster with a solid offense and probably one of the best defenses in the league. Unfortunately, their success squarely hinges on Jared Goff who reminds me of the newest version of Rex Grossman. He has his amazing stretches of games, but goes through bouts of mediocrity. Maybe finding a stronger back up to push him would be a smarter choice. Purdy had been on many scouts radars prior to Iowa State’s week one loss, but he was very strong down the stretch. He might be a surprising strong starter late in the draft. 

Last Week’s Pick: Kary Vincent Jr CB LSU 

90.   Minnesota Vikings (via Baltimore) - Tyler Shelvin DT LSU 

• The Vikings continue to retool their defensive line to help out their young secondary. They brought in Michael Pierce to hopefully take the place of the departed Linval Joseph. It should not be hard to find a strong tackle in the middle of the draft with a backlog of talented high upside options later in the draft. Shelvin is a mammoth tackle who is a high floor option as a stout run defender. He is also adept at the pass rush, but still needs more refinement in his technique there. For the Vikings he should be a nice quick starter for a team looking to win now still with an aging coaching staff.

91.    Cleveland Browns - Chazz Surratt LB UNC 

• More and more defensive help for a Cleveland team that can run their offense just fine if they continue their strong running attack. They could use a new linebacker to pair with the emerging Sione Takitaki who has looked very strong down the stretch of the season. Like Greedy Williams they have had high hopes for Mack Wilson to emerge, but health is also an issue for him. Surratt is still a developing linebacker after previously being a quarterback, but he continues to improve and display great awareness at his new position. He should see his best days ahead of him as he continues to develop his skills. 

Last Week’s Pick: Paris Ford S Pittsburgh 

92.   Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Darius Stills DT West Virginia 

• The Bucs are going to be in a pickle with LaVonte David, Shaq Barrett, and Ndamukong Suh all hitting free agency this offseason. I think the two linebackers are much more needed for this defense’s success than Suh at this point. Despite the fact that Suh continues to be one of the best run stuffers in the league. However, it is cheaper and easier to find a replacement for Suh via the draft than either David or Barrett. Stills is a talented pass rushing tackle who still needs to get stronger to be able to hang strong in the middle of the line more consistently. 

Last Week’s Pick: Israel Mukuamu CB South Carolina

93.   Cleveland Browns (via New Orleans) - Cade Mays OL Tennessee

• The Browns have one of the sneakier great offensive lines in the league thanks to Jedrick Wills, Joel Bitonio, J.C. Tretter, and Jack Conklin playing most of the season together and at a very high level. However, as we saw in their playoff win they still struggled to find quality depth options when guys were forced out of the lineup. As is the case with most teams the drop off between their starters and backups is massive on the offensive line. Bringing in a versatile talent with a lot of upside like Mays could be a nice addition here late on Day 2. He has a lot of upside as only a one year starter for Tennessee and offers experience both at tackle and guard. He should be a nice addition to their run heavy offense.

94.  Buffalo Bills - Jaylen Twyman DT Pittsburgh 

• Not many outside of Buffalo would make a big deal out of the loss of Jordan Phillips last offseason, but in Buffalo they realize how badly they miss their former interior pocket pusher. He along with Shaq Lawson were their two best defensive linemen from a year ago. They had hoped Ed Oliver would take the role of Phillips, but he has been slowly developing after once being a highly thought of prospect. Twyman opted out of the season, but he has shown a lot of talent last season. Many still see him as a quality middle of the draft find with a lot of upside. 

Last Week’s Pick: Darius Stills DT West Virginia 

95.   Green Bay Packers - Michael Carter RB UNC 

• The Packers look set to let both Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams go this offseason in free agency. To be honest that is a very wise move with how easy it is to find another quality back. Maybe A.J. Dillon from last year’s class could emerge as their top back, but like in college he seems a bit too one dimensional as a power back. Carter could add some more burst and explosion as a pass catching back. He could even replace Dillon in due time as he can be a more reliable three down option with his speed and pass catching ability. 

Last Week’s Pick: Tedarrell Slaton DT Florida 

96.   Kansas City Chiefs - Kary Vincent Jr CB LSU 

• Finding huge needs on a very strong Chiefs roster is going to be a hard thing to do. Instead, they could make a few luxury picks to further enhance some already solid positions like corner. In a pass happy league having a few strong corners is always a good thing. Vincent has a rare blend of speed and athleticism at the corner position. However, he still needs a lot of refinement before he can be relied on as a full time starter. The Chiefs could certainly enjoy developing a speedster for the otherside of the ball for a bit of change for once.

97.   Jacksonville Jaguars - Israel Mukuamu CB South Carolina 

• Doubling down on corners makes a lot of sense for a Jags team that jettisoned both A.J. Bouye and Jalen Ramsey. Mukuamu brings in a rare blend of size and speed at the corner spot. He seems a bit of a too good to be true type of prospect almost like D.K. Metcalf a few years ago at receiver. I would not be shocked if he either dominates or flames out quickly in the NFL. 

Last Week’s Pick: Charlie Kolar TE Iowa State

98.   New York Jets - Ben Cleveland OG Georgia 

• Enhancing the offensive line has to be high on the Jets needs this offseason. However, with a huge amount of cap space maybe solid veterans that you know can play are a smarter move for a rookie quarterback under center. However, it’s still nice to have a few developmental options who can provide quality depth like Cleveland that can be a nice find in the draft.

99.   Atlanta Falcons - Chuba Hubbard RB Oklahoma State

• I feel like the end of the line has already been passed for Todd Gurley who is still trying to cling onto a lead back role in the NFL. The Falcons have too good of a roster who can still win to be hanging onto a guy like that to power their run game. Hubbard to me is being slept on too much after a so-so season this year. He still is a very talented all around back who can be very similar to Jonathan Taylor at the next level.

100. Houston Texans - Thayer Munford OT Ohio State

• Like the previous Texans pick it’s a wonder on who they take at any juncture of the draft. With so much up in the air for them this offseason they could go in many directions here. I guess I would lean on a blocker for what is still one of the shakier offensive lines in the draft. Munford was a steady force for the Buckeyes offensive line for a few years now. He is a versatile talent who can offer a very high floor and ability to start right away which is hard to find in a 4th rounder. 

Last Week’s Pick: Sage Surratt WR Wake Forest

101. Cleveland Browns (via Philadelphia) - Tedarrell Slaton DT Florida 

• Despite a strong defensive front they could still use a few upgrades here or there. Larry Ogunjobi is a soon to be free agent this offseason and to be honest he has not developed as well as many thought he would after his strong rookie campaign. A new option to develop alongside Garrett and Richardson upfront would be a wise move. Slaton offers a high floor with strong run stuffing ability and pass rushing upside.

102. Cincinnati Bengals - Payton Turner DE Houston 

• The Bengals just shipped out Carlos Dunlap this past trade deadline, but failed to make any effort to develop any of their younger pass rushers. The once highly thought of prospect duo of Sam Hubbard and Carl Lawson has quickly faded into dust. Neither have produced much outside of their rookie seasons. Turner is a rapidly rising prospect who can add a spark off the edges as a quicker athlete. 

Last Week’s Pick: Myjai Sanders DE Cincinnati 

103. Detroit Lions - Aaron Robinson CB UCF

• The debut season for the number three pick Jeff Okudah went less than stellar this past offseason. I hate the bust moniker on him so soon, but not going to lie his first year did not go well compared to his other rookie classmates who excelled. Hopefully he turns it around, but the Lions certainly need more along with him at the corner spot if they want to even attempt to slow down Aaron Rodgers. Robinson the Alabama transfer offers a lot of upside as he hones his technique. 

Last Week’s Pick: Hamsah Nasirildeen S Florida State

104. Carolina Panthers - Kylin Hill RB Mississippi State 

• Christian McCaffrey is still one of the best backs when healthy, but his size seems to have caught up with him in the pros after an injury riddled season this year. Maybe it was just an outlier, but I would prefer to have a back who can rotate in with him and keep him fresh. Mike Davis could be that guy, but after a solid season the soon to be free agent could be a sought after commodity. Hill is a bruising back who can take some goal line carries along with allowing McCaffrey some breathers without having the offense skip a beat.

105. Denver Broncos - Hamsah Nasirildeen S Florida State

• The Broncos could lose Justin Simmons this offseason as the Pro Bowler sheds off the Franchise Tag and becomes a free agent. They should probably bring him back, but they are going through a regime change at the GM spot so who knows if they want to give a safety a big deal or not. Nasirildeen is a Derwin James-lite type of prospect out of Florida State with his similar size, strength, and athleticism. Unfortunately he failed to put up the same production as James during his college career making him fall in the draft a bit here. 

Last Week’s Pick: Talanoa Hufanga S USC 

106. Dallas Cowboys - Landon Dickerson C Alabama 

• I had high hopes for Tyler Biadasz coming out of college, but he looked quickly overwhelmed in the pros. Maybe he can get better with another year under his belt, but his size will always be a hard thing for him to overcome. Dickerson would be a higher pick had he not just torn his ACL in the playoffs. He is a high character, IQ, and technical blocker who could be a nice gem if given the time to develop. The Cowboys love to give their prospects time to develop. 

Last Week’s Pick: Josh Jobe CB Alabama 

107. New York Giants - Dazz Newsome WR UNC 

• The Giants landed Kyle Pitts in the first round to help their passing attack, but they could still use a new receiver or two out wide. The duo of Sterling Shepard and Golden Tate are an okay pair, but upgrading them should not be hard. It is almost needed to to see if Daniel Jones can actually stick in the NFL or not. With better weapons you can easily find out if it’s him or his receivers that make him look good. Newsome is an ideal slot type receiver who can attack a defense at every level with his shiftiness and ability to get open. He really showcased his ability this year and if he is given an opportunity to shine at the Combine he could really see his stock rise.

108. San Francisco 49ers - Richard LeCounte II S Georgia 

• More help for a terrible secondary in the Bay Area. The 49ers defensive line should round back into its former all world self with the returns of Nick Bosa, Arik Armstead, and Dee Ford who all missed a chunk of the season due to injury. Which allowed rookie Javon Kinlaw to get a lot of experience in their stead. Now they need to find playmakers behind them to make plays on errant throws by opposing passers. LeCounte is a highly intelligent safety with great leadership qualities, but just lacks the athleticism to be seen as a top safety. He could end up surprising at the next level.

109. Los Angeles Chargers - Sage Surratt WR Wake Forest

• The Chargers should look to find a few new depth options for their receiving corps with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams both being hampered by injuries throughout their careers. When healthy they are probably one of the most talented duos in the league, but both being healthy at the same time is a difficult thing for the two to accomplish. They found some nice pieces when they were out in Jalen Guyton and Tyrone Johnson. However, it would be nice to have a better third option like Surratt. The Wake Forest product could serve very well as a steady big slot option for Herbert to look at as a reliable chain mover.

Last Week’s Pick: Trey Sermon RB Ohio State

110. Minnesota Vikings - Brady Christensen OT BYU 

• The Vikings offensive line took a jolt of energy when they inserted Ezra Cleveland into the lineup. However, they were still not that strong in the passing game with Dru Samia, and Riley Reiff disappointing at this point. I doubt they can replace Reiff that easily since he is still an okay left tackle. On the other hand replacing Samia would be a lot easier with a talent like Christensen who is actually a pretty good tackle himself. He would actually be best served at the guard spot to hide his lack of athleticism, but maximize on his high IQ and strength. 

Last Week’s Pick: Elijah Molden CB Washington 

111. New England Patriots - Jordan Smith DE UAB 

• I felt like the Patriots defense took a big step back this season and it had to do a lot with the losses of Kyle Van Noy and Jamie Collins. Those two might not seem like big names to most fans, but they were key cogs and significant pass rushers for the Patriots defense last year. Chase Winovich was the de facto top edge rusher this past season, but he is just a middle of the road type talent. Jordan Smith offers a lot more in terms of athleticism and speed off the edge as well as versatility as a talent that can have his hand in the dirt or standing up. 

Last Week’s Pick: Teven Jenkins OT Oklahoma State

112. Las Vegas Raiders - Josh Jobe CB Alabama 

• There were two head scratching corner picks in the first round with the Falcons taking A.J. Terrell and then the Raiders taking Damon Arnette. Terrell struggled at first, but turned it around down the stretch. Unfortunately the same could not be said for Arnette who was not only poor in coverage, but was also a walking penalty. Jobe to me is a steady option out of Alabama much like guys like Levi Wallace and others that have been found in the late rounds of the draft. He comes in well coached and should be able to play right away. 

Last Week’s Pick: Alim McNeill DT North Carolina State

113. Houston Texans (via Arizona) - Marqueze Stevenson WR Houston 

• With DeAndre Hopkins clearly gone and soon to be Will Fuller who is a free agent this offseason they will certainly need to be looking for a new receiver or two for Deshaun Watson. I doubt they trade Watson, but if they do I would like to nominate Houston to be relegated to the XFL. In any case, a new receiver is certainly needed here and with limited picks it will be hard to find a top flight first round talent like either Hopkins or Fuller. Stevenson is a lesser known name in this draft, but he is an explosive playmaker who knows how to get down field. He might be a sneaky great pick here similar to Darnell Mooney from last year.

114. Miami Dolphins - Aaron Banks OG Notre Dame 

• The Dolphins could look to further enhance their offensive line just in case guys like Robert Hunt and Austin Jackson do not develop as expected. It’s also always a quality move to find better depth options along the offensive line to prevent a huge drop off when your starters go down. Especially for a gun shy quarterback like Tua Tagovailoa who has a long injury history. Banks is another well coached blocker out of Notre Dame who is a tackle for the Fighting Irish, but will be a much better fit at guard in the NFL. He should be a solid option to have developing in the background for a young and talented team. 

Last Week’s Pick: Cade Mays OG Tennessee 

115. Washington Football Team - Pete Werner LB Ohio State

• Washington found pretty solid loose change when they stuck with Jonathan Bostic for another year. He was one of the bigger surprises in the league as a highly impactful tackling machine in the middle of the defense. Sure he still lacks the coverage ability and instincts to really stand out there, but he is excellent in the middle of the field getting after ball carriers. Adding another linebacker alongside him should still be something to look for in this defense. Werner is a nice versatile linebacker who can be a nice addition here on Day 3.

116. Minnesota Vikings (via Chicago) - Talanoa Hufanga S USC

• There were some rumors at the trade deadline that the Vikings would move Anthony Harris one year after his breakout season. Makes sense since they wisely franchise tagged him and it seems that one year was just a blip on the radar for the one year wonder. Hufanga could step in right away and provide the same sort of talent. He is a high energy and strong tackler who is still developing as a quality coverage safety as well. Hufanga will certainly come at a cheaper price tag than Harris as well. 

Last Week’s Pick: Thayer Munford OL Ohio State

117. Tennessee Titans - Tommy Tremble TE Notre Dame 

• The Titans love utilizing their tight ends in their offense ever since they landed Delanie Walker, Jared Cook, and others throughout the years. Their starter Jonnu Smith had a nice year, but he is a free agent this offseason that might be asking for too much money for the production he puts up. They would be better off finding a cheaper and better option through the draft. Tremble is another run of the mill Notre Dame tight end who provides nice routes, strong hands, and solid ability at the tight end spot. He is also a nice blocker like most Notre Dame tight ends who come to the NFL. 

Last Week’s Pick: Kellen Mond QB Texas A&M 

118. Indianapolis Colts - Shaka Toney OLB/DE Penn State

• The Colts could certainly double down on edge rushers in a pass happy AFC conference with strong young quarterbacks to compete with. If they ever want to sniff the Super Bowl they have to consistently put pressure on guys like Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and others they will face in the AFC playoffs. Toney is another athletic freak out of Penn State at the edge who needs more development at the NFL level. He will add a nice wrinkle to a nicely schemed defense if Matt Eberflus is still in charge of it with his high end ability to put guys in the right place to succeed. 

Last Week’s Pick: Richie Grant S UCF 

119. Pittsburgh Steelers - Elijah Moore WR Ole Miss 

• Under GM Kevin Colbert the Steelers have drafted a wide receiver in every one of his drafts. With JuJu Smith-Schuster most likely leaving via free agency I doubt he stops that trend here. Especially with how poor their receivers were catching the ball down the stretch this year. Moore is a smaller, but more explosive receiver who can add more downfield speed that was lacking on this offense. He will also take over the slot role that is now vacated by Smith-Schuster where he made the most of his impact the past few years. 

Last Week’s Pick: Daelin Hayes DE Notre Dame 

120. Seattle Seahawks - Elijah Molden CB Washington 

• Again, I think finding better blockers is a much bigger need for the Seahawks. Unfortunately, like every draft I feel like they are going to go after other positions than fixing their biggest issue on their roster. However, they do need more talented playmakers at the corner spots where Shaq Griffin has been just okay the past two seasons. Molden is a scrappy smallish corner who excels in the slot and nickel matching up with running backs and smaller slot receivers. In a division with pass happy offenses in Arizona and LA having multiple great corners is a must. 

Last Week’s Pick: Chuba Hubbard RB Oklahoma State

121. Jacksonville Jaguars (via Los Angeles (R)) - Dyami Brown WR UNC 

• The Jags have a sneaky solid receiving corp, but they also are a very fragile bunch. Chark, Shenault, and others have all missed some time or another over their careers in Jacksonville. If they want to see Lawrence succeed they need more options for him to work with if those starters go down. Brown is a rapidly rising prospect like most Tar Heels after a surprisingly strong season under Mack Brown at Chapel Hill. He is a receiver who can operate out of the slot or outside with his blend of size and quickness. His vertical ability will help him stand out really well in their offense. 

Last Week’s Pick: Dazz Newsome WR UNC 

122. Cleveland Browns - Ronnie Perkins DE Oklahoma 

• Adding some more pass rushers to the front of their defense is never a bad thing in the modern NFL with all the pass happy offenses. They do have one of the best at getting after the quarterback in Myles Garrett, but now they will be without Olivier Vernon who tore his Achilles’ and he is also a free agent after this season. He might wait until he is healthy before resigning or going elsewhere. In any case, Perkins is a similar style pass rusher as a powerful end who can collapse the pocket similar to Vernon. I can see him being a nice high floor option across from Garrett. 

Last Week’s Pick: Marqueze Stevenson WR Houston 

123. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Tutu Atwell WR Louisville 

• The Bucs have Chris Godwin hitting free agency and while he is a solid receiver I think they will be just fine without him. Especially, with his inability to stay healthy the past few years and Antonio Brown meshing into the offense well enough to allow them to let go of Godwin. However, Brown is just one misstep away from being booted out of the NFL so drafting someone to help out the depth should still be done here. Atwell is a tiny receiver who offers a lot of versatility in the middle of the field and out of the backfield. I think Brady will find a way to get him the ball with his playmaking skills. 

Last Week’s Pick: Merlin Robertson LB Arizona State

124. Baltimore Ravens - Alec Lindstrom C Boston College

• The Ravens could look for a receiver here, but why get away from what your offense is built to be good at. They need to continue to build around the run game and what made them so dominant last year. Their center Matt Skura is a free agent this offseason, but he is about the weakest blocker on their line outside of the open guard spot left by Yanda last year. Lindstrom is a polished blocker who looks to continue to grow much like his brother has down in Atlanta. He should be able to start sooner than later. 

Last Week’s Pick: Shaka Toney OLB Penn State

125. New Orleans Saints - Whop Philyor WR Indiana 

• I sort of thought the Saints offense was one injury to Michael Thomas away from being completely out of sync. It came close, but Alvin Kamara continued his dominant play to keep them afloat down the stretch. For some reason Emmanuel Sanders has not clicked in New Orleans like he has at all his other stops in his career. Maybe age has finally caught up with the veteran. In any case, good depth at the receiver spot is always needed. Philyor was a standout receiver for Indiana’s surprising run this year displaying good speed, length, and quickness. 

Last Week’s Pick: Jack Sanborn LB Wisconsin 

126. Minnesota Vikings (via Buffalo) - Jeremy Ruckert TE Ohio State

• The Vikings are most likely going to be without Kyle Rudolph after the veteran hits free agency this offseason. They still have hope that Irv Smith continues to develop, but they love using dual tight ends in their offense. Plus, in their run heavy offense Smith is a tad bit of a liability in the run blocking game. Ruckert is a sure handed tight end who is a nice seam stretcher displaying very good hands. He is also a very willing and decent blocker despite not being a big tight end in that regard. His high floor and reliable hands should be able to find a home in the NFL. 

Last Week’s Pick: Tamorrion Terry WR Florida State

127. Green Bay Packers - Anthony Schwartz WR Auburn 

• Fans and media have been clamouring for the Packers to draft a receiver for a long while now. I doubt they will be pleased with them waiting this long in the draft, but it’s better late than never. Especially, since it’s easier to find a receiver later in the draft than most positions over the years. Schwartz is a dynamic deep threat receiver who has been a standout despite a lot of attention being poured over his teammate Seth Williams. I would not be shocked if Schwartz with the better top end speed ends up having a better pro career than Williams. 

Last Week’s Pick: Kylin Hill RB Mississippi State

128. Kansas City Chiefs - Daelin Hayes DE/OLB Notre Dame 

• What the hell why not double down on defensive linemen if you are the Chiefs here. What better way to capitalize on Mahomes’ career by giving him a terrific pass rush that can slow down opposing offenses. If they can ever turn into a top 10 defense during his career it might be near impossible to beat them. Hayes is a high floor talent who has versatility and a lot of experience under his belt. His awareness and technique are higher than most being picked this late. Lacking speed might be why he drops a bit, but he should be a high floor player to be found on Day 3.
