2016 NFL Mock Re-Draft: Round 2

This is a 2016 NFL Mock Re-Draft of Rounds 2 and 3 for Friday evening's NFL Draft coverage. With all of the trades that will go down, I don't expect to get many of these right (I nailed seven in my Re-Draft Round 2 in 2012, and five in my Re-Draft Rounds 2-3 in 2014 and 2015), but it's still fun to speculate where the top prospects will go on Day 2 of the 2016 NFL Draft.

32. Cleveland Browns: Myles Jack, LB/RB, UCLA
    Adam Schefter has reported that Dr. James Andrews has said Myles Jack doesn't need micro-fracture surgery. I'm sure every single team that passed on him is shouting, in an Adam Sandler voice, "Something that could've been brought to my attention yesterday!!!"
    
    I don't care who the Browns draft at No. 32; if it's not Jack, they are getting a Millen in my NFL Draft Grades.

33. Tennessee Titans: Xavien Howard, CB, Baylor
    The Titans were going to select Jalen Ramsey had they not traded out of the top spot. They desperately need cornerback help, and Xavien Howard is one of a couple of possibilities atop Round 2.
    
    
34. Dallas Cowboys: Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Oklahoma State
    With Demarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory serving four-game suspensions and being another incident away from a much longer sentence, the Cowboys almost have to address their pass rush early.
    
    
35. San Diego Chargers: Vonn Bell, S, Ohio State
    The Chargers ended up passing on Jalen Ramsey, so they'll almost certainly target a safety on the second day of the draft.
    
    




36. Baltimore Ravens: Mackensie Alexander, CB, Clemson
    The Ravens passed on Vernon Hargreaves at No. 6 because they believe they can land a talented cornerback at this juncture. And that's exactly what has happened, as Mackensie Alexander was talented enough to be a first-round pick.

37. Kansas City Chiefs: Cody Whitehair, G/OT, Kansas State
    Cody Whitehair played left tackle in college, but will have to move inside. That's fine, as he'll likely be dominant as a guard. He can also play center and right tackle if needed, and I'm sure teams will value his versatility.
    
    
38. Jacksonville Jaguars: Noah Spence, DE/OLB, Eastern Kentucky
    Joey Bosa was an option for the Jaguars at No. 5, but he was taken off the board two picks beforehand. Here's an alternative.
    
    
39. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kevin Dodd, DE, Clemson
    The Buccaneers opted to move down rather than select Leonard Floyd, which was probably the best move. They'll have to acquire an edge rusher on Day 2, however, and Kevin Dodd has the athleticism they love.
    
    




40. New York Giants: Jason Spriggs, OT, Indiana
    The Giants just missed out on addressing their offensive line in the first round. Jack Conklin was stolen from them, but perhaps they'll grab another Big Ten lineman.
    
    
41. Chicago Bears: Kendall Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech
    The Bears had the chance to grab Vernon Hargreaves in this mock, but passed on him. I don't think they'd do the same thing here if they happened to have Kendall Fuller fall into their laps.
    
    
42. Miami Dolphins: Reggie Ragland, ILB, Alabama
    The Dolphins met with Reggie Ragland prior to the draft, which has been a big deal for them over the years. They need a linebacker, and Ragland is a steal at No. 42.
    
    
43. Tennessee Titans: Hunter Henry, TE, Arkansas
    With three second-round choices, it wouldn't be a surprise if the Titans used one of them to grab a successor for Delanie Walker, who turns 32 in August.
    
    




44. Oakland Raiders: Jihad Ward, DE/DT, Illinois
    I wonder if the Raiders would've selected Sheldon Rankins had he dropped to No. 14. Jihad Ward is a similar player who could bolster the pass rush.
    
    
45. Tennessee Titans: Darian Thompson, S, Boise State
    I had the Titans upgrading their cornerback situation atop Round 2. The other position in the secondary needs to be addressed as well.
    
    
46. Detroit Lions: Chris Jones, DE/DT, Mississippi State
    Chris Jones fits the Bill Parcells-Bill Belichick prototype almost perfectly for a defensive tackle. The Lions need a player at that position, as they've never replaced Ndamukong Suh.
    
    
47. New Orleans Saints: Sean Davis, CB/S, Maryland
    The Saints just missed out on Vernon Hargreaves in the first round. Perhaps they'll take another athletic cornerback with their next pick.
    
    
48. Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor
    The Colts were considering Andrew Billings in the first round, as he would've provided a boost at a weak nose tackle position. Perhaps they'll take him in the middle of the second frame.
    
    
49. Buffalo Bills: Jarran Reed, DT, Alabama
    Defensive tackle is a big need, as the declining Kyle Williams won't be on the roster much longer. Jarran Reed is a steal at No. 49 overall.
    
    
50. Atlanta Falcons: Jonathan Bullard, DE/DT, Florida
    The Falcons desperately need to upgrade their pass rush. I mentioned someone Shaq Lawson as a Round 1 possibility. Jonathan Bullard makes a ton of sense here as well.
    
    
51. New York Jets: Christian Hackenberg, QB, Penn State
    The Jets have been connected to Christian Hackenberg, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him come off the board to them in the middle of the second round.
    
    




52. Houston Texans: Nick Martin, C, Notre Dame
    The Texans lost Ben Jones this offseason, but they won't miss him that much because of his mediocre play. That said, the center position will need to be addressed on the second day of the draft.
    
    
53. Washington Redskins: A'Shawn Robinson, DE/DT, Alabama
    A'Shawn Robinson was under consideration with the 21st pick. The Redskins are desperate for help on their defensive line, making this a very logical choice.
    
    
54. Minnesota Vikings: Kyler Fackrell, LB, Utah State
    The Vikings will be looking for a third linebacker, given that Chad Greenway is entering his final season. Kyle Fackrell seems like a great fit for this defense.
    
    
55. Cincinnati Bengals: Michael Thomas, WR, Ohio State
    The poor Bengals wanted Josh Doctson or Corey Coleman. Both were taken off the board prior to their pick, so here's a receiver to take Marvin Jones' spot.
    
    




56. Seattle Seahawks: Derrick Henry, RB, Alabama
    It's sounding like Derrick Henry could drop this far. There's some concern about Alabama running backs after several of them have flopped. The Seahawks won't mind, as Henry is everything they're looking for from an athleticism perspective.
    
    
57. Green Bay Packers: Austin Hooper, TE, Stanford
    I think the Packers would've considered Hunter Henry in the first round had they not signed Jared Cook. Obviously, Cook isn't the long-term answer, so maybe Green Bay will use a day-two choice on a tight end.
    
    
58. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jeremy Cash, S, Duke
    The Steelers are going to have a hole at one of the safety spots next year. Michael Mitchell has played well, but Will Allen is a 34-year-old impending free agent. Shamarko Thomas can't get on the field, so I'm not sure he'll be in Pittsburgh's future plans if the team can obtain a talented safety early in the 2016 NFL Draft.
    
    
59. Kansas City Chiefs: Sterling Shepard, WR, Oklahoma
    The Chiefs need a capable receiver besides Jeremy Maclin. When Maclin left the game against the Chargers, the offense looked pretty lost for a while.
    
    
60. New England Patriots: Kenneth Dixon, RB, Louisiana Tech
    The Patriots need a new running back to pair with Dion Lewis, and Kenneth Dixon is the prototype prospect Bill Belichick often covets.
    
    
61. New England Patriots: Le'Raven Clark, OT/G, Texas Tech
    Bill Belichick loves versatile offensive linemen. Le'Raven Clark can play four positions up front. He'll compete at guard this year and then eventually start at one of the tackle spots.
    
    
62. Carolina Panthers: Su'a Cravens, S/LB, USC
    Per our Pro Day Results page, Tony Pauline reported that the Panthers have scary levels of interest in Su'a Cravens. I initially was confused, given that Carolina drafted a similar-type player last year in Shaq Thompson. However, Thompson is more linebacker, while Cravens is more of a safety, so it would make sense for the team to have two interchangeable linebacker-safety hybrids.
    
    
63. Denver Broncos: Christian Westerman, G, Arizona State
    The Broncos have some issues on their offensive line that need to be addressed. Losing Evan Mathis was absolutely huge.
