Round 1

I'm back to a pass rusher here because of the team giving Trey Hendrickson permission to seek a trade. It's one thing when the player requests a trade. It's another when the team officially grants the permission. Though there are defensive holes on every level, it's flat-out dire in the pass rush department. In addition to Hendrickson's request, Sam Hubbard retired.

The team just brought back free agent 'backer Ernest Jones, so I will go away from Jihaad Campbell with this pick. In the wake of DK Metcalf's trade to the Steelers and Tyler Lockett's release, maybe Golden's 4.29 speed could come into play here. I wouldn't be shocked if he's taken ahead of McMillan, actually.
By the way, after the Geno Smith trade, could Seattle be a club to watch for Dart? That could be the case, but it's looking like Seattle could be a destination for Darnold, so that is my assumption for now.

I'm going back to Campbell in this spot now that he's available again, even after re-signing Lavonte David to a 1-year deal.

Sean Payton is extremely dissatisfied with the team's RB options, so Omarion Hampton could be in play here. That said, Loveland is still available, and I think Payton's desire for a TE of Loveland's caliber might win out.

Pittsburgh took a huge swing and a miss with Kenny Pickett recently. I'm going to assume that they don't come away with Darnold in free agency, and bringing back one of Fields or Wilson at QB is not providing huge hope for the fanbase moving forward. Pickett failed, but the team must keep swinging in the attempt to find a long-term solution at the most important position in sports. Dart seems like he has a decent shot of going in the 1st Round.

With Grant on the board, the Michigan connection wins the day here.

WR could make sense, but Brian Gutekunst does not have a history of going with WR's this early. Instead, with Starks on the board, perhaps the team just goes with a value play.

TRADE! Minnesota trades #24 to Kansas City for #31 and #95.
Minnesota is a prime trade-down team because it has no 2nd Round pick, it has no 4th Round pick, and its 3rd rounder is a comp pick. Meanwhile, KC has two 3rd Round picks, thanks to the L'Jarius Sneed trade to the Titans. So it keeps that more favorable 3rd from the Titans, and deals its own pick to come up and get Simmons, who is an obvious need pick for them.

With Stefon Diggs a free agent and with Tank Dell suffering a particularly gruesome knee injury -- the second year in a row that Dell has suffered a leg or knee injury which ended his season -- it could stand to reason that a WR could be in play here. Stroud and Egbuka already have chemistry, so this would make all sorts of sense. I'll keep Egbuka here even after the trade for Christian Kirk, as Kirk is on an expiring contract.

TRADE! (See #15 for details.)
After the trade down, perhaps Atlanta will listen to reason and address its woeful pass rush situation. Green was the FBS sack leader a season ago, and he plays with a tremendous motor. He has character questions stemming from sexual assault allegations back in high school, but he was not charged with any crime. It just takes one team to be OK with him, and I'm guessing that he will not be passed up in the 1st Round.

Too much value here to pass up for the Ravens, a team that often seems to have a player that should have gone earlier just fall into their laps. Last year, it was Nate Wiggins. This time, it could be Pearce, who, it was reported, does have some attitude/character concerns. Still, he tested as a 94th-percentile athlete in Indy, and so he could be appealing before the end of Round 1.

I'm back to Zabel here as a meat-and-potatoes fit on the iOL for a team that has Kevin Zeitler hitting free agency, not to mention that LG Graham Glasgow was subpar a season ago and will be 33 in July.

After the trade for Deebo Samuel, the WR2 need opposite Terry McLaurin has been lessened. As Samuel is in the final year of his deal, it's not like this pick still couldn't be a WR. However, I think Dan Quinn's defense could be addressed instead, and with Jonathan Allen's release, they could go with an immediate replacement. I think I had Harmon too low in my last update, dropping him into the low 40's.

Buffalo needs to improve its pass rush, and so Ezeiruaku could be the next man up in the edge rushing crop this year.

TRADE! (See #24 for details.)
Minnesota has strong play at tackle, but the iOL was a subpar part of the blocking upfront in 2024. This must change, and Jackson has the type of athleticism that Minnesota has typically gone for with OL draft picks, so I'm giving him the nod over, say, Tyler Booker here.

We know that Howie Roseman loves to invest early picks into the defensive trenches, and with Milton Williams a free agent, perhaps he'll be allowed to walk, as he's going to land an extremely lucrative deal. Nolen has 1st Round talent and could be a steal in this spot.
