Round 1

Picks 1-16
1. Giants: Cam Ward, QB, Miami

TRADE! Tennessee trades #1 to the Giants for #3, #34, and a 2026 2nd Round pick.

As I flip-flop back between the Titans keeping this pick and trading it to the Giants, I'm swayed by the fact that the Titans only have one other pick in the top 100, apart from this one. And I think the Giants really like Ward and could be swayed to move in front of Cleveland, who also likes Ward. This could be the big swing that the Schoen/Daboll regime needs to make, and perhaps they'll still try to sign a veteran as a bridge guy.

And since Tennessee knows that the Browns would probably take Sanders, they will still get their guy at #3. And even if the Browns didn't take a QB, the "consolation prize" would be one of Carter/Hunter anyway.

2. Browns: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the Watson era in Cleveland was an unmitigated disaster, although the team cobbled together a Wild Card playoff spot in 2023 behind Joe Flacco. They can't really give a veteran QB any kind of decent money in free agency because of the enormous cap hit that Watson has, whether he's on the roster or not. So, as Adam Schefter has pretty much guaranteed, the Browns have to take a QB, similar to what Denver had to do going into last year with Russell Wilson's enormous dead cap hit on their books. If Ward's there, I think he'd be the pick. If not, I believe they'd go with Sanders.

Oh, and to address the chatter that Sanders has had poor meetings with teams and that his stock could be slipping, ask yourself who such chatter might benefit? And amidst those reports anyway, it was said that the Browns were NOT one of the teams that had a problem with Sanders. Again, they are extremely likely to take a QB here. There's no guarantee that Dart would even be there at 33 (I don't think he will be), and there's no guarantee that they could trade back up to get Dart, let alone Sanders. Furthermore, this is a weak QB draft, so if you're thinking of someone like Jalen Milroe at 33, yikes.

3. Titans: Abdul Carter, OLB, Penn State

TRADE! (See #1 for details.)

Tennessee trades down and still comes away with Carter, not to mention the extra draft capital. Especially after the release of Harold Landry, Carter over Hunter is the most likely outcome if that is the choice.

4. Patriots: Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado

If both Carter and Hunter are gone, the Pats could decide between the top OL, or perhaps Mason Graham. However, in this scenario, Christmas has come early for New England, as 2 QB's have come off the board already.

5. Jaguars: Armand Membou, OT, Missouri

I'm going to flip Membou and Mason Graham in the 5 and 7 spots. In thinking about it further, former #1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence is about to enter a critical year. He's dangerously close to being a bust, even after getting a massive contract after his rookie deal. While the team has a nice set of young bookend offensive tackles in Walker Little and Anton Harrison, RG Brandon Scherff is a free agent who is unlikely to be back, and center Mitch Morse just retired. Membou was a freakish athletic tester, as expected, and maybe the idea of adding such a talent to the OL could win the day. There's nothing wrong with having 3 starting OL who can play tackle, with one of them occupying a guard spot.

6. Raiders: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

The Raiders tried for Matthew Stafford. Instead, they've come away with Geno Smith, giving up a 3rd Round pick to Seattle in the process. As the Raiders owned the Jets' 3rd rounder as well as having their own, this is a pretty reasonable move by the club, in my estimation, especially since they are keeping the better of the two 3rd rounders. As for this pick, Pete Carroll/Chip Kelly teams have relied heavily on the run, and adding the best RB prospect in the draft since Saquon Barkley could have serious appeal, because you'd have the makings of a dangerous offense at the skill positions. The prospect of Smith throwing to Bowers and Meyers (and another likely WR starter signed in free agency) and handing off to Jeanty might sound pretty good for Raider fans.

7. Jets: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan

The DT room is pretty barren after Quinnen Williams, and if Graham is there, I'd have to imagine that new coach Aaron Glenn would have an extremely high opinion of him.

8. Panthers: Mykel Williams, DE, Georgia

Jalon Walker could be polarizing enough that Williams passes him in the draft pecking order. Charlie is reporting that Williams and Shemar Stewart are in play for this pick.

9. Saints: Will Campbell, OT, LSU

Trevor Penning hasn't worked out at RT, and there's a LG opening. Campbell could figure to be a solution at one of those spots.

10. Bears: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State

It was looking like the Bears going OL was practically a foregone conclusion, but in the week before free agency, Chicago has traded for a pair of guards, first Jonah Jackson and then Joe Thuney. While OL could still be in play, what was once a dire need is no longer the case. If Jeanty were on the board, I believe he'd be the pick, so this might be his floor. With Cole Kmet earning a poor 60.6 PFF grade in 2024, and as he would only count as a $3.2MM dead cap hit next year with $8.4MM in cap savings, maybe Warren could be in the mix here.

12. Cowboys: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

Dallas could opt for the downfield playmaking talents of McMillan to complement CeeDee Lamb. And it's not like McMillan is just a deep threat. Dallas badly needs another every-down WR that can take the pressure off Lamb.

11. 49ers: Shemar Stewart, DE, Texas A&M

OL or DL is the best bet here for John Lynch, and here's a hunch that Stewart's perfect 10.00 RAS will be highly appealing to clubs, despite the lack of sack production in college. As Dane Brugler has noted, though, he did generate 39 QB pressures last season.

13. Dolphins: Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina

Jordan Poyer and Jevon Holland are both hitting free agency, and rather stunningly, Emmanwori was the second player to post a 10.00 RAS in as many days at the Combine. He has most likely passed Starks as the top safety prospect.

14. Colts: Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas

If one of the top 2 TE's are here, it may be difficult for Chris Ballard to resist, and Loveland is available. However, Barron has done nothing but help himself at every turn so far in this process, testing well and getting high marks for character as well. As Julian Blackmon is a free agent and as Barron may be a Brian Branch-type chess piece in the secondary, maybe he comes off the board before Will Johnson after all. Also, as this is a strong TE crop, perhaps Indy looks at that position on Day 2.

15. Rams: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

TRADE! Atlanta trades #15 to the Rams for #26, #90, and a 2026 2nd Round pick.

The Rams are clearly all-in on 2025, keeping Matthew Stafford and then signing Davante Adams. The OL looks like it's in good shape. The pass rush certainly is in good shape. Many connected with the team are expecting a pursuit in free agency for some of the top LB's on the market, such as Dre Greenlaw. But the CB group needs some work, as Ahkello Witherspoon is a free agent and Darious Williams is in the final year of his deal (and could be a cut candidate). Both of those corners were mediocre a season ago as it is. So the ever-aggressive Les Snead, in seeing that Johnson is on the board, calls up Atlanta, with old DC Raheem Morris in the building. And since Atlanta doesn't have a 3rd rounder this year, it could be interested in a deal where it picks up #90 plus LA's 2nd rounder next year.

16. Cardinals: Kelvin Banks, OT/G, Texas

With Banks on the board, I'll opt for him in this spot instead of Simmons, and both starting guards have reached free agency. And even RT Jonah Williams is aging and has had trouble staying healthy lately.
