Round 1

Cincinnati has holes all over the defense, but plugging the middle of the D-line is a big need. Walter Nolen and Kenneth Grant are both excellent values, but I've seen Cincinnati linked with Nolen more frequently.

I can see Seattle trading down here, but I can't leave Tyler Booker on the board when a team needs his skill set so much. OG has been an issue for years in Seattle, and the player fit just flat works.

The Buccaneers love Jihaad Campbell -- I've had him as a first round pick for over a month now, and I'm glad he's getting that level of love publicly. The "do-it-all" gap between him and Jalon Walker is smaller than a lot of people think.

The Loveland pick feels like a lock, but the choice was harder with Luther Burden still on the board. But when Sean Payton talks, he tends to be transparent -- and Loveland is the "joker" that Payton talks about wanting.

Luther Burden ends up in Pittsburgh in this mock, which is surprisingly light on trades thus far. His slide outside the top 20 doesn't last long, as he becomes the immediate WR2 in Pittsburgh.

As it stands, Justin Herbert needs weapons -- but DC Jesse Minter wants to fortify the run defense. I think D wins here, by a hair. I still can't stop thinking about Kenneth Grant chasing down that Penn State RB -- and neither can Jim Harbaugh, his former coach.

I'm torn between Revel and Jahdae Barron for Green Bay at #23. Revel's reps in college as a pure CB (as opposed to Barron, who played a lot of safety) set him apart by a tick. He has excellent length as well.

TRADE! PHI gets #24 pick, 2025 draft
MIN gets #32, #96 & #162 picks, 2025 draft
Minnesota will almost certainly trade down due to a severe lack of draft capital. The Eagles jump up to fortify a pass rush that will lose a lot to free agency - and we know they love Georgia players.

(from PHI in trade for #24 pick)
Jahdae Barron finds his way to Minnesota, who are set to see 4 CBs and 2 safeties hit free agency -- including Stephon Gilmore, Shaquill Griffin and Camryn Bynum. Not sure if he'll be a CB, S, or hybrid.

The Texans get lucky with the 3rd best WR in this draft (possibly 2nd?) falling to #25. Tank Dell's injury status is still unresolved and Stefon Diggs is gone -- Egbuka has a real chance to be WR2 behind Nico Collins for the start of the season.

Simmons has some health concerns, but if they're resolved he's a lot better than the 26th overall prospect in this draft. The Rams will due their due diligence, but getting younger on the O-line in the face of free agency is a good look here.

I've put Nick Emmanwori here in past mocks, and that's cemented by his Combine performance. A 6'3", 220 pound safety that runs a 4.38 40 and posted the 3rd best vertical EVER at the position? Sheesh.

The Lions have stated they aren't spending money on a premium FA edge rusher. So depth will come through this draft. Mike Green has a heck of a motor and should do best lining up on the 2nd level and blitzing off the edge.

I think there's good value for the Commanders to find a WR in Round 2 (and a TE in Rounds 3-4). Scourton is a good fit for Washington's blitz alignments (more of a 4-3 guy), and they should look to upgrade the trenches first.

I've mocked Nolen and Grant here in past drafts, but they're both gone at #30 here. Still, I think an upgrade on the interior D-line is the best move for Buffalo in the first round. Derrick Harmon showed a quick first step at the Combine.

The Chiefs will franchise tag OG Trey Smith, which solves one huge issue for at least another year. But OT is still an area of concern. Gray Zabel is a riser in pre-draft proceedings, and he has a huge 6'6" frame.
